awesome.  only on 1 of my 9:

root@vps3:~# lynx -dump http://localhost:7874/nxt\?requestType\=getPeer\&peer\=96.236.149.74
{"platform":"?","application":"NRS","weight":0,"state":1,"announcedAddress":"","
downloadedVolume":2234139,"version":"0.4.8","uploadedVolume":36718637426}

U can ban all peers with version = 0.4.8 and platform = ?.

I don't do it coz collect statistics.

I updated the Developer's sheet (activists only):
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgAGADgnQcrtdHRrV3V3Z1lzOXVEMWtqdElUaEtqV1E#gid=6

I am also thinking of some "who is who" section for the Nxt Wiki and these guys would go there just after the core devs Cheesy

96.236.149.74 leeched more than 18 GiB of data... Anyone sees this zombie in their active peers? What r the numbers?

can you get us an API to pull active/inactive/blacklisted peers?  I can grep for it that way

http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getPeers
http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getPeer&peer=96.236.149.74

CFB, I can get you an account on all of my public servers.  I never forge from them they are just hallmarked public nodes.  You can pull whatever data you want

Can't wait. Do we have a time for the launch ?

Full potential of TF will be unleashed step by step. We must build infrastructure and prepare for war against some big Bitcoin holders and then against some governments. Complete description of TF is held by few people, who will publish it if BCNext, me and Jean-Luc suddenly disappear.

With the current method of account protection in place, where a brute force password attack is a simultaneous attack against all NXT accounts, I would argue that a good motto for NXT is the Spartan's cry of "Molon labe".

Btw, any ideas how much the price will rise after VCs realize that Nxt is able to process 1000+ tps? 10x is min, imho. 100x-1000x is more likely...

vc = venture capitalists?

Or is that an acronym this soon-to-be-old dork isn't familiar with?

EDIT: If transparent mining reveals the node's ability to forge, there's also the incentive to bring down large holders to improve your own forging income.
how about this?

This reminded me...

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laconic_phrase:

Quote
After invading Greece and receiving the submission of other key city-states, Philip II of Macedon sent a message to Sparta: "If I win this war, you will be slaves forever." In another version, he warned: "You are advised to submit without further delay, for if I bring my army into your land, I will destroy your farms, slay your people, and raze your city." According to both accounts, the Spartan ephors replied with one word: "If" (αἴκα).

PS: There is no way to find IP of a forging node if it wants to hide the address.

Even better: they cut off the other parts of the message and just sent back the word "if" Smiley

Spartans apparently recycled Wink

What do you mean with 4.25 tps to 1000 tps?

One of the killer features of Nxt is ability to process transactions at VISA rate (thousands per second).

Honestly, I am still unsure about the whole the concept and implementation. But if it can be pulled though, it would be a not-small-technical achievement.

... and let the DDoS begin!!!  Wink

1000 tps requires just 1-10 Mbps link.
