When i ping dgex.com i get IP address 200.35.149.26

When i enter that IP address as URL in my browser i get the homepage of http://dunecom.com/
Is this an indication dgex is hacked  Angry

Could someone try the same and confirm?

An nslookup gives me the same IP, I assume it's the hosting company they use

Is there a way to verify?

Just several websites on the same IP, it's ok, technically Smiley

Has anyone taken a look at the ip addresses of the attackers? Are they hiding behind TOR?

Some of them were hosted in universities.

Question on forging:

Say I have 100K Nxt. One simple case is to forge to get tx fee in a single account, and the other case is to distribute those 100K Nxt into 5 account with each one 20K Nxt and forge with those 5 account at the same time. So do they have exactly the same probability for forging for a block?

Yes.

the advantage is unattended operation.  if you are running all on 1 account, then if you are gone and the client goes whacko crash or runs on the wrong chain or just locks on a block, you 100% stop.  by spreading the account todifferent balances and forging on different machines for each balance, then you have a measure of redundancy.

EDIT: Whith the URL dgex.com I'm still getting the regular dgex login screen, but after pressing the login button:
I get the 404 error Not Found

The requested URL /login.cgi was not found on this server.

it's interesting since some of my Nxt videos are connected with my Facebook, I am getting many "you asked for a new password for Facebook" emails these days.

@cfb, any new schedule to transparent mining?

Maybe on 3rd of January. We don't have to update NRS too often in this case.
Anyway, users see no difference, Transparent Mining will be deployed partially to avoid blockchain fork.

Adding well know peers in your web.xml increase your chances to be on real main blockchain at any moment

Instructions:
1- Close your java process (if it's running)
2- Go to the following directory nxt/webapps/root/WEB-INF/
3- Open web.xml with a text editor
4- find this line:
Code:
wellKnownPeers
5- into the following lane copy/paste the easyCopyString between HERE
6- it will looks like:
Code:
wellKnownPeers
87.230.14.1; 46.19.137.116; 95.85.22.142; 162.243.214.183; scum2.bounceme.net; 162.243.213.115; node11.nxtbase.com; 78.46.63.221; scum5.bounceme.net; scum4.bounceme.net; vps5.nxtcrypto.org; node16.nxtbase.com; scum.bounceme.net; scum2.bounceme.net; scum5.bounceme.net; scum6.bounceme.net
7- save

The DEATH of NXT

Yeah I don't know if anyone knows exactly where it's coming from but the concept of nxt and all the features certainly threaten the status quo (BTC/LTC) etc. I wouldn't be surprised at all if its coming from elsewhere in the crypto community.

Would NXT's built-in marketplace make Tor-markets obsolete? If that's the case, obviously the attackers want to kill NXT, because it competes with the Tor markets.

You have all been extremely patient and generous with those of us (newbies) trying to learn about Nxt and cryptos in general, so please be patient with another newbie question below.
And I will add that the quality and volume of communication on this site is extraordinarily good. Doing development in the open like this is like inviting people into the kitchen of your restaurant. Average customers may not want to see that kitchen, but legitimate investors absolutely must see the good, the bad, and the ugly of the whole operation. This forum captures the historical development of problems encountered and solved, and will be strong testament to the resilience of this project and the people involved.

Here's the question:
What is your best guess about the specific sources of the DDOS attacks? Organizing them takes time, resources, and cooperation, so how is such an attack justified by those making the effort? What is the ultimate gain for them? (Sorry if this question has already been answered. I read the posts here as much as I can, but haven't hit all 480+ pages.)

Although RAM is cheap and getting cheaper, some leaking is going on for sure  Undecided

That would be no solution. It needs to be smooth as butter and light as i-cant-believe-its-not-butter!
