How safe is it to transfer NXT with the current attacks?

not safe. pretty sure I got ripped off.

What is the problem?

idk I bought and withdrew nxt over 24 hours ago but haven't received them. dgex said the first withdraw was completed, and doesn't say the status for the other. the client says I have 0 transactions, but theres all these unconfirmed transactions for accounts that aren't mine. I also tried going to the coinarea faucet and they said they sent me 1 coin which I haven't got either. im positive I used the right address#, they match up on dgex and in my client. it could just be that im a noob though. It took me a long time to get everything installed, and I was told to go to   https://localhost:7875/ because its more secure but I can only get on http://localhost:7874/

Could you please provide your Nxt wallet address? (the number next to the lock)

Does anyone think there would be a problem with scheduling a cron job to restart the Java app every so many hours? Or what is the safest way to restart the process without risking corruption of the blockchain?

so it is normal for me to have to run the java file every time I get back on the client?

There should be 661 Nxt on this account, but hte amount in the blockchain explorer is 0, which I really can´t understand. Anyone with an idea?

Note: Due to ongoing node attacks, data shown here should be considered with caution. Data reorganization in progress.

Why does refreshing the browser lock my account?

Quote
Why do you refresh? There is no need to.

Well, the same thing happens if I close the browser and re-open.  The account is then locked.  Since forging requires the account to be unlocked, I'm trying to figure out how to keep it unlocked.  If I close my browser and I don't re-open it, will my account remain unlocked?

Hello,

I've setup a public node. Is there any port I need to open in the firewall besides 7875 TCP?

If I open my wallet in the VPS, is it insecure and if so, why is it more insecure than doing the same in my laptop?

Thanks.

My public node is nxt1.tweetmondo.com

I will setup more if people send nice donations to 9060914620736248721 Smiley

Thanks

If anyone wants to donate I will set up and run VPS for 1000nxt a month

thanks

I will do the same. Donations can be sent here: 6044921191674841550

At the end of each month I will donate some of them back to the community.

This is separate from my main wallet so you can keep track of them. I will keep them in there and only use them for hosting.

I will use this wallet to hallmark the node. I will start with a 3000NXT donation of my own.

As an aside, is anyone heading to the Miami Bitcoin Conference at the end of January for the NXT community?

http://btcmiami.com/

I'll be there representing Peercoin. If you're thinking about it, let me know... we'll grab a bite to eat. I'm a huge fan of conferences, it's a great way to either start momentum or keep it flowing.

Living in Miami I intend to go, but the tickets are quite pricy right now, do you know any other way to get one of those? I will let you know if I make it there anyways, it could be fun to join forces on Next over there..

Sometimes i start downloading the blockchain from scratch, and it only takes 3 minutes, but in abou 20% of the cases, it ends up with blocks with about 3000000% Target. The rest of the cases, i am uptodate then with normal blockchain.

Anyone know how i could prevent the 20% of cases?

There is a risk (which you cannot control) that someone on VPS company has a backdoor access to your server.
