Decentralization Maximalist
Some hours ago I've sent some Nxt to DGEX. They are confirmed 10+ times but have not arrived at DGEX account.

Now, on DGEX website says:

Quote from: DGEX.com
PLEASE TRADE CAREFULLY:
NXT network is under DDOS attack (DEC 22 11PM GMT)
THIS MEANS NO NEW NXT IS COMING IN
TO DGEX SYSTEM BEFORE FURTHER ADVICE
YOU CAN NOW CANCEL YOUR PENDING DEPOSITS FROM THE VIEW PENDING ORDERS PAGE

But if I cancel the pending deposit, will them send the Nxt back? Or should I wait until the current problems with DDos are solved?
(I have read the last pages of the thread but haven't found any mention of this problem)

i was having all kinds of issues till i hallmarked my node, and just picked a node with a dns name as a single wellknown host.  then used a nearly 24hr old blockchainfiles backup, my client then caught up all recent blocks and am on 22588 now.  maybe a coincidence though

How to "just picked a node with a dns name as a single wellknown host"?

look in active peers, find a named entry (not an ip address) and put that in the xml file as the only wellknown host

Finally, I got the longest chain!

Method:

1) Download the nxtfile https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/67242472/nxtfiles.zip
2) unzip nxt.zip to a new directory
3) unzip nxtfiles to the new nxt directory
4) java -jar start.jar

What's your block now?

seems that I'm not the longest
I'm at 22550

I'm stuck at 22665

im at 22603, but im not stuck, my chain is still building.  still more forks i  guess.  blockexploer seems stuck at 22526

it seems that the well-known hosts are not in accordance with each other.

The problem that I have is that whenever I catch up with the longest chain because it's stuck, by reverting to a previous state and re-downloading the chain), it works only until some next form and I can wash rinse and repeat time and again.

It works, but not for long and must be done way too often. Hope the fix will come soon Smiley

I have started the Dutch wiki. Translated two pages so far, but it's getting fairly late here so I will probably be doing more tomorrow. In any case, you can check it out here:

http://nxt-nl.wikia.com/wiki/Nxt_NL_Wiki

If any of the other Dutch translators want admin access in order to help get the Wiki up to speed faster, shoot me a PM here or on Nextcoin.org forum.

Coin based on Java... I can't believe my eyes, coin developed with most insecure and inefficient bloated language full with frameworks for lazy/incapable devs. This thing does not sound right and will have serious problems.

It's not really an issue, as there's a native client being written.

source? Not that I don't believe, just haven't read it.

Thanks salsacz. Is that 0.4.0? Looks like that did it.

I'm now at

0      0 + 0      0 B
1      9205762685532168987      1203 %

And I'm sorry, but all this looks barely usable at regular user level, let alone Fort Knox secure.
