What's an ETA on fractional NXT and smaller fees? It would be nice to have some progress, as AE seems to be months away?

Hey guys, I have an Idea on how to get 3000 (or lets say 2000) new users.

How about we use 1.500.000 NXT to give each of the 3000 NEM participants 500 NXT? They are a very motivated community, and we can market it like: " Check out our working system while you wait for NEM"
Thoughts?

that would be like giving it back to us.
if you look at the stakeholder list or at the thead, more than 1/3 of the accounts have nxt account in their sig

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about NEM. Anything that is good for NEM will be good for NXT, since so many Nxters are on the stakeholder list. I know that if NEM does well, I'll definitely be selling a bit and putting it into NXT.

Every new release to the mainnet will be very important from now on.

I vote for calling a clear release date/deadline so we can use; nxtcountdown.com

We can invite/inspire more new users with this method. But also educate them with a little text/video or redirect them to other NXT websites to keep nxtcountdown.com clean.

15 May for Asset Exchange for example.

imho, having a countdown may not be that much of a great idea after all,

look at how Coutnerparty AE went live. the announcement was made 2-3days before the actual release on main net, and things went smoothly so far, price has even pickep up a bit.

In contrast, mastercoin announced the release of its AE long ago before the actual date with all the countdown and expectation and stuff, just to (again imho) disappoint most of the users. and yes u guess it right on the price part, it dropped significantly.

i am not a fan of a countdown, i prefer short notice of 2-3days before the actual release.

I'm happy with everything. 3 days before or 1 month, it doesn't matter. We should just do it.

If we do it 3 days before. The person who brings the new version on the mainnet should communicate with us before he/she does it.

That's the part I'm afraid of. We don't communicate now when somethings published on the mainnet.

So... Who can communicate/manage this so we can promote this big coming features of NXT?

Some guys had a great idea of creating a real game called NXTopia that uses NXT as a ingame currency, where the auction house is using NXT as "gold"

This idea is not 'dead' we have just been thinking about it really hard Cheesy

how does candy crush make profit? the phone companies pay them right?

Well, i guess there lies the problem. No, if anything then Candy Crush has to pay the app store Wink

They make their money with playing ads in the apps. Also with ingame purchases to unlock certain things!

With your idea, they wouldn't earn the ingame purchases + lose money from the giveaway.

Not very self-sustaining.

ok but can you still not apply the idea even if that is how they make money? the "extras" in game must be purchased with usd/phone credit.. the adds still play in the app... nothing is different... other then not being able to get the extras with in game points... perhaps the in game extras can only be purchased with nxt! :L would that fix that issue? lol

The problem is, I don't see the advantage in giving away NXT for free in a random app. This is very very poor marketing, but maybe that is only my impression Wink

Some guys had a great idea of creating a real game called NXTopia that uses NXT as a ingame currency, where the auction house is using NXT as "gold"

the advantage is if the app is sucessful then you gain possibly millions of new users who want to cash out their "in game points" for usd.. but in the middle they find out what nxt is.. and perhaps keep their nxt.. the whole idea isnt to make more fiat money or more nxt.. it is to further adoption and bring in new users.. thus increasing the value of the nxt everyone already holds...

yes i definitely see the value proposition. we really could fill a niche and become something big by convincing game developers to build nxt into their in game economies. it even offers them a really sweet model for monetization. let nxt come in for free but take a cut on the way out.

yes thats the spirit! Smiley if you were a games developer would you rather make 50k profit.. or give away 20k to make and extra 30k? cos thats essentially what it will come down to.. if they are not happy with the extra return or if they are loosing money simply adjust the value at which they buy back the points..

if you do searches you will find allot of articles about "addictive game sucks value from consumer and gives nothing back in return except square eyes" type of stuff

let NXT give the consumer the value they so desire! while also attracting massive amounts of new users to the nxt ecosystem!

and games developers like king.com may perhaps begin to accept nxt as a form of payment as they could then use it to pay consumers for their points! they would just have to buy it otherwise!

maybe we are thinking of 2 different things. i was talking about using nxt in the game economy as the in game currency. so like you get tiny fractions of nxt when you kill monsters or if you want to buy an item from another player you pay them with nxt in the game. it would all be handled off blockchain on the local game servers unless someone wanted to add nxt to their game account from an outside source or export nxt out of their game account into an outside wallet.
