James, do you want us to just start trading it ?
Sure. When it goes on mainnet, being able to convert nodecoins to NXT will give it value. The more it is worth, the more people will run it, which means there will be more active nodes.

I've completed the 1st draft of my article about forging from a probabilistic point of view: http://www.docdroid.net/9yub/forging.pdf.html

Comments, suggestions, (and donations Wink) are welcome!

Please, discuss it here: https://forums.nxtcrypto.org/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=836 (or send me a PM). Unfortunately, I won't be able to follow this thread in the next few days.

limit forging power 1/3 active balance.

this means you need to continuously monitor which is the total active balance everytime and limit forging power to 1/3 active balance maximun per account.

ok so you want to limit effectiveBalance to max value possible equal to 1/3 of balance.  I dont understand your last sentence at all.  What is the point of 1/3, why not 1/4?

Using Wesleyh's client on Firefox private window, Asset Exchange is empty. Just says loading and never gets there. Went on Chrome incognito and it works fine.

You guys in private mode right? Probably unable to access database then. I will change it to make asset exchange work (it will be slower since nothing is cached), but obviously you will not be able to have contacts in private mode since all data is deleted when the browser session ends.

if you make a sell order of 10,000 not all will be sold at once. Only at the end will you have received the full amount of nxt (when everything is sold).

Got a better terminology for me?

Reverse the parts. i.e.

"Once all assets have been sold, you will have recieved xNxt."

Edit: You may only want to have the bubble when more than one asset is being sold.

Edit2: You are a star for putting up with all this and being so quick to make any changes. The Nxt Devs really are lions led by donkeys but they take it all in their stride.

@wesleyh

I ran into some issues testing your client nxtra.org/nxt-client/ with the latest Firefox 27.0.1.

1. Click on "Asset Exchange"

Asset data loading, please wait...

TypeError: db is null
... db.transaction(table, op).objectStore(table).openCursor().onsuccess = functio...
webdb.js (Line 292)

Nothing happens

2. The same with click on "Contacts"

3. "navbar-right" does not collapse when screen size is smaller than ∼830 px. It overlaps the main content.

This good enough for y'all?

I'm not sure but isn't this better;

"You will receive 1 NXT Fee once all assets have been sold"

Again. I'm not sure.

Yes, I was going to edit my post for this.

Future tense: You will recieve xNxt when all assets are sold.
Future perfect tense: You will have recieved xNxt when all assets are sold.

Future perfect is for an action being completed in the future. I think you have it right but it does feel odd...

Fine by me *feels a bit sheepish* I like it as my girlfriend (who has never used an exchange) gets it. Those used to exchanges *know* intuitively what will happen when they press the button. Depends who you expecty to be using the AE one day, if just exchange guess - leave it as it was. If you want my gf, ma, pa, granpappy etc the little, unobtrusive bubble explains what is going on without a manual or a forum post.

On the megathread: people wanted to stay here for the 'pub' bit but, a few short weeks ago, a big reason was CfB was here and liked it here. If anyone had a technical question it would be CfB who would give the answer. Now, we have 5-6 people who seem to have a good handle on how things work and can answer each others questions and are learning from each other every day (it is great to see btw) and soon CfB will be leaving us. I wanted to keep this thread but now I am more ready to move.

The devs could then be persuaded to switch to a clearer system (they would get more help if others/newcomers could clearly see what was being developed and see where they could input). We will still/always have a 'pub' thread but I predict it would be less popular without CfB and the devs in attendence. The only other problem is people seem to sh*t their pants whenever ther isn't a post from one of the devs every hour! And that's when Emule strikes, spreading his FUD at an apparent moment of weakness...  Shocked

Of course, you are within your rights to disagree Grin

still don't know how the AE works.when i buy 1btc ,who will send the real btc to my btcwallet?
when somebody issue the asset "doge",he have the real doge?
they are just some numbers?

There will exist gateways so assets of other coins can be traded in AE. If you bought DOGEasset in AE, you can withdraw DOGE for it through the gateway.

CIYAM leaves?  Bad bad news

He is not leaving us he will just not be following this monster thread.
I can't say I blame him, discussions here last pretty long and it might become overwhelming at the times.

He is still working on AT and he stays with NXT.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.5637782

In my opinion, and this is just my opinion, we are discussing a bit much and everybody are throwing these great ideas out, but they are just ideas, work still has to be done. It might be better to finish first one thing and then get to another and we need deadlines, but we already mentioned that. Hope Rickyjames can take a charge of a leadership committee and set some deadlines, he would be a right man for this job.
I repeat maybe I am wrong but this is how I see it.

Just to let you guys know that I will be "unwatching" the topic shortly.

It has certainly been an interesting ride but it has been made clear to me that "software engineering" is not wanted by those writing the software and therefore I feel that I have nothing more to contribute.

I wish you guys all the best.

Hope you will be back soon. You've contributed a lot of interesting post to Nxt!
