So the thing has started already?
The transition bot doesn't work...

Too late to link BTC address now, the 1st round of distribution already happened.

Upgraded to 1.0 and saw the distribution coming, great job dev!

Mhhh how to know when another round of distribution will happen?

It should be in 1 or 2 months, but this can change

So to backup I need
the seed
the folder

nothing else? and then once I update, and recover from seed, and paste back the folder, my wallet will be intact?

Can someone from dev team confirm this? Its a bit complicated to update/backup here.

I backed up, but then just installed new version over old one, didn't restore or anything.

Two of us in #byteball on freenode, btw, for others who don't slack.

installing new wallet should keep the existing addresses. I just did an upgrade from 0.7 to 1.0, there's no problem at all, everything is working fine.

For backups, follow the details at https://github.com/byteball/byteball#byteball-backups-and-recovery

very nice coin, great dev. Just wondering without prefixed time for block isn't that all transactions instant?

Seed is not enough as there are private assets (blackbyteballs) will not be covered. You must follow the backup process to back up the whole data folder, many posts gave the details, just do a search.

I wonder what level of exchange will be between bytes and blackbytes?

What is Blackbyte?

I have read that there will be blackbytes distribution. That's what developer wrote in slack https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.17297539

After update to 1.0 I got new address.

How about the distribution? My BTC is linked to the byte ball address in version 0.7

Is it mandatory to upgrade to 1.0? Or if I use the 0.7 it is OK? I don't want to mess up the addresses I linked.

When distribution will happen?

Think it's mandatory, distribution already happened.

Yes thanks. 0.7 not working, must upgrade to 1.0. Now I see the bytes and blockbytes coming, works great.

Thanks dev, it is great project!

About seed, see here: https://github.com/byteball/byteball
Quote
Byteball uses a single extended private key for all wallets, BIP44 is used for wallet address derivation. There is a BIP39 mnemonic for backing up the wallet key, but it is not enough. Private payments and co-signers of multisig wallets are stored only in the app's data directory, which you have to back up manually:

    macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/byteball
    Linux: ~/.config/byteball
    Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\byteball

How do I recover a wallet from a seed ?

It is written in the backup menu that just the wallet seed is not enough.

If you made a backup, simply replace the folder C:\Users\youareusername\AppData\Local\byteball with you old backup.

When should I see my bytes?

When you correctly update from a working wallet.

Thanks bro!  I can now see my terabytes..   Roll Eyes

It does seem strange, maybe the functionality is just not there yet.  Perhaps in the future you will be able to restore from seed.
