If you don't see the toggle you probably don't have 1.0 version of the app. Check your version. I didn't see blackbyte ballance until I upgraded. Remember to make a backup before upgrading.

I have v1.0.0 Win64 build installed. Do you have blackbytes listed at "History" tab?
No, there's a toggle switch right under the bytes ballance number. If you don't have it you might not recived blackbytes. Are you sure you are on livenet version?

just above the wallet name below your bytes balance you should see a white and black circle click the black one (incase hes looking fo a push button)

Sorry for may absence here.  I was so busy with the distribution that now have 15 unread pages in this thread and dozens of unanswered emails and PMs.

A few updates, or rather confirmations of what you already know:
1.  The network is now launched
2.  Latest version is 1.0.0. https://github.com/byteball/byteball/releases/tag/v1.0.0
3.  Transaction explorer is at https://explorer.byteball.org
4.  All bytes of the 1st round are distributed
5.  It is safe to move your Bitcoins out of the linked address before the next distribution round
6.  Distribution of blackbytes is still under way
7.  Total supply of blackbytes is 2.1111 * 1015, that is 2.1111 times more than that of bytes.  If you want to know more where this number comes from, see the whitepaper https://byteball.org/Byteball.pdf, page 44.
8.  Seems like many people never heard of blackbytes.  It is a currency with private untraceable payments where payment information is conveyed directly from payer to payee and never stored on the public database.  This means that payments in blackbytes are only possible when payer and payee are connected in chat.  This also means that you cannot restore blackbytes from a seed, and you need a full backup of the data folder https://github.com/byteball/byteball#byteball-backups-and-recovery
9.  To trade bytes, come to #trading channel in our slack http://slack.byteball.org/
10.  Don't trade blackbytes before their distribution is finished

Thanks for bytes but how and where can I check if I received blackbytes?

There is a toggle button on the main GUI wallet which shows blackbytes and bytes.

Ok guys, I didn't get my bytes yet, I'm sure it's because i haven't updated my wallet. I have written down my seed, but I have no idea what is meant when he says "back up the files to the byteball app". Which files?

What do I need to regain access to my wallet if I upgrade my bb app?

thank you

The Byteball wallet will keep it's data when you update it, but a backup is always a good idea!

For a complete backup of your Bytes and Blackbytes, the wallet seed is not enough!
On windows, backup hidden folder 'C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\byteball'.
On linux, backup hidden folder '~/.config/byteball'.
On osx (mac os), backup folder '~/Library/Application Support/byteball'.
As Blackbyte transactions are only stored locally, it must be done again every time after you've sent or received Blackbytes!

Thanks, appreciate your response. Ok I have the folder open, which files is it that I need to keep?
Better the whole folder.

Just backup the whole folder, I agree.

So your saying to use the coin you have to make a backup every time you send or receive a transaction ? What happens if one doesn't make a backup and has an older wallet without those new transaction records that have been stored locally ? Does the wallet just write them off since it can't see them ?

Which version you use? you need to upgrade to the latest 1.0 in order to receive byteballs and blackbyteballs. Using version 0.7 not working.

yes, it's too late. You can wait until February for the second round or buy bytes on OTC market. No exchange has provided bb service yet.

did not receive my byteball too

1. check if you are running livenet version of the app
2. check if you are running 1.0 version of the livenet app. Before uprading make sure you backup seed words of the wallet and files of the wallet app

what files? Do I need more than the seeds to regain access to my wallet?
