I have interviewed Tony in an exclusive interview and managed to get some insights about behind the scenes present development and future plans for Byteball:

Here is the part 1 of the interview:

What will be the mechanism of verification of provided documents for ID verification that is my concern as well. This issue has already been raised because different countries use different formats for those documents and don't give access to their databases. What if some one use counterfeit documents for id verification ?

Many good questions and debate going on about Jumio.
This is good, and will make the offer even stronger over time with a few tweaks here and there.

It is laughable to see the market reaction to such a minor issue - It's good that weak hands and non
believers continue to liquidate at such absurdly low prices. Bytes are flowing into stronger and stronger hands with every passing day.

I'm confident the Jumio Attestation Process will be tweaked and refined in short order. Its an absolutely essential tool for
ByteBall to have, and for some, it will be perfect, but the truth is, its just not for everyone.

I'm also confident that other methods will be developed to engage all the Byteballers that don't want or need this aspect.

What happens if the private keys to an address are compromised? Can we contact Jumio to ensure that we are able to link a new address, and the verification of the previous address is revoked?
It shouldn't be too difficult for Jumio to implement a standard procedure in these cases. With increase in cybercrimes, this is bound to occur.

Why are you so inactive on Twitter?

Facebook seems much more active than Twitter to me.

Is there any reason for that?

I also wrote a tutorial for the ID attestation: https://steemit.com/byteball/@wekkel/byteball-unleash-the-wave
Thanks, good job and very helpful.
The whole process is very simple. I would add a wait to this dialogue: "Received your payment of x.xx GB, waiting for confirmation (about 5 minutes)"
People today are no longer used to waiting in dialogue with devices without Feedback.

For what I've seen the verification process works perfectly fine when using a passport. However, when using a national ID, the process fails with ERROR_NOT_READABLE_ID.

Is it possible the process expects a specific ID format? For example only U.S. (or other single country) ID or driving license? I'd guess there's no issue when using a passport because its format is more standard internationally.

If Jumio expects only some specific format, it should be clearly stated.

And unless it is corrected soon, it should also be stated that if you get it wrong, you will pay for each attempt.

Byteball is supposed to be forte on smart contract or conditional payment. Here it has the opportunity to show its potential. Jumio is not supposed to receive any money if the no ID verification is done. By the way, why should I pay 8 dollars on front for ID verification, many or the mayority of people are not familiar with Crypto, even less with Jumio, so it is very easy to miss step and make a misstake and loose 8 dollar trying to verify my ID. Payment to Jumio most be AFTER, not before, the ID verification is complete,  and then I get the 20 dollars. Here the insentive is to get people on Byteball by receiving 12 dollars, not for been an expert on Jumio ID verification risking 8 dollars by not knowing the steps. Or please make use of the "smart contract".
By the way, I think Byteball is the best Cryto proyect and the new distribution idea is the best by fixing the Jumio payment order.

It is Jumio business rule. The bonus is that you can pay in GByte and not in fiat (which is already a major step for our community).

People will verify their id at no condition when they will have a good reason to do that: participating to a KYC regulated ICO.

This is the ultimate target.

I sure hope Jumio kicks back a % to the byteball community fund or even tony himself for all the new business they are getting!

Yes bot is back, but my verification failed. Worst spent 8$ (bytes were from EcuaMobi  Angry). They should allow multiple tries if verification fails for the first time.

They give free tokens Tangos and Zingos on the basis of byteball. Two kinds, they do not have value (I first typed, and then only subtracted Grin) are distributed through chat with the bot. Designed for testing text, smart contracts. For outgoing transactions, respectively, have to pay. If you search, even on youtube, there were commercials with their distribution.

Byteball will grow like a snow ball. It is very hard or difficult not do anything about it. I can have a new job if I want, just teaching five people everyday  about byteball I will get 100 dollars, this other five people will do the same... and so on...Byteball can pass bitcoin very easy.  And because of the lack of exchages for byteball, it has the potential for people to people exchage...I think it cannot get any better than this...Tony and your team deserve a lot respect...

I've written a step-by-step guide for the attestation process, and I'm covering the US$8 for new comers:
https://ecua.mobi/usd20-free-byteball/

I'll decide how long this will come for.

Great! I have notified @slackjore on slack to get your tuto added to the Byteball wiki.

i was thinking about that you will know which byteball address is connected to which account here.

True, from a few addresses. I don't know how that can be prevented and I don't see how that could violate privacy.

and if it will be visible which byteball address belongs to which person then all three things will be linked.

I can't know which address belongs to what passport. The verification data is private. Only a hash is published.

yeah, i just read it after i chatted with bot. so nothing to worry about here.

and i received 0.01182 in the OSX wallet. my new android wallet did not receive coins.

mhh, does anybody here try to link Passports with bitcointalk accounts?

Are you saying I secretly manage both Byteball and Jumio and can decode Jumio's information to know which passport was verified for every address and therefore which bitcointalk account?  Shocked

Or maybe I just want the US$20 (minus 8 = 12) referral bonus while helping Byteball grow?  Wink

Or what exactly do you mean?

that all i was thinking and asking about.

Your real name and other personal information (date of birth, document number, country, etc) will be saved privately in your wallet, only a proof of attestation will be posted publicly on the distributed ledger. The very fact of being attested may give you access to some services or tokens, even without disclosing your real name. Some apps may request you to reveal some of the fields of your attested profile, you choose what to reveal and to which app.

well so it is not possible.
