How can I get GBYTE when distributing if I do not have a BTC. I have only Gbyte. Do I just need to keep them in my wallet on the day of distribution?

I think you can link empty BTC adderss. Have you used transition bot? It should guide you just say "Hi" ?

If you have problems after reading https://wiki.byteball.org/airdrop ask on http://slack.byteball.org/

Yes, and if you want to receive free GBB (Blackbytes) as well, be sure to talk to the transition bot.

It pretty much look like Byteball is not going to recover at this point, people are now considering it as free money just like they did with BCH and simply dumping it, Blackbytes have no value and are not listed in any exchange, I can't say that the project is doing well at this point.

This is comedy on so many levels. BCH sure is doing horrible ain't it? (aside: once people realize what a marketing disaster the fork is, you'll probably be right... accidentally)

And ya, Byteball is doing horrible. ~200M market cap in 8 months with no ICO. What an unmitigated disaster!

As for the idea of doing an ICO bot, that really does sound smart! It remains to be seen if any other platform can compete with Ethereum on that front, but I would definitely like to see it attempted. I don't think it's gonna work out for Stellar.

How to unlink BTC address from byteball address.
You can't. But you can move your Bitcoins if you no longer wish to participate in free airdrops.

Can anyone confirm how Windows backups and restore works? Just copy the %LOCALAPPDATA%\byteball -folder to the new computer at the same location, install Byteball wallet, and I should see my balances?

Btw, new website is very cool!

Isn't anybody tried to recover wallet? I have Light wallet, and need to move my wallet to new computer.

If you still have accesso to old wallet it is easier for you to install a new wallet on the new computer and to transfer the asset. Otherways you can use the full backup, if you have made it.

Ok, thank you. I have of course full backup in a safe place. I try to install new wallet and recover it with my backup. Let's see if that's really that easy. I had Light wallet and going to install that again.

Is is that the case that, if I want to backup/recover assets with passphrase(except untraceable ones ie. blackbytes), I need to use full wallet at all times?

You don't need to uninstall/install the application.  You can rename the folder which the actual wallet is in.   This is one way of having multiple wallets, etc.  Always a good idea to backup the directory AND the wallet itself

Simply doing a Full Backup on one computer and then a Full Restore on another computer is all you need.  This even works across platforms.
This works for light and full node backups.  Only exception is that you can't do a full restore of a full node on an android.

You can do a full backup and restore.  It will also recover the blackbytes from the time of the backup.  If more blackbytes were received (or spent) on a computer, then you need to rebackup else it causes problems (and possible loss/overstatement) when restoring on the new computer.  Regular bytes is no problem.

You mentioned 'full wallet', but I think you meant 'full node'.   No, restoring doesn't require a full node; however, a restore from SEED requires a full node.

Thank you for your answers!

The process was very easy. Just installed new wallet to my new computer and copied %LOCALAPPDATA%\byteball -folder from my old computer to the new one. I worked like a charm!

In my previous question I meant that if I'm running full node and try to restore it with passphrase only, I'll lose my blackbytes? So at the moment best way to do backup is do full backup of %LOCALAPPDATA%\byteball -folder?

New and better tech is always welcome. As long as it gets picked up by someone to popularize it, if it works it will succeed. Since recently i`ve been eyeballing the project and considering hopping in on board. Looking forward to price development to plan my entry point.

Byteball technology is pretty similar to IOTA. So at current valuation, it is way undervalue. This project should be at least at top 20 on coinmarketcap. So buy it while it's cheap. Don't miss out!

When I try to send Blackbytes from my Android wallet it says Syncing forever without sending any.

Is it a known issue?

I have seen this when trying to send all blackbytes.   Meaning, it is made up of a lot of 'messages'.   Try sending a smaller amount.

It is an issue known to me. I'm having big trouble with blackbytes, one of my multisig wallets is trying to sync forever and doesn't show blackbytes at all and I have stopped to receive the airdropped blackbytes, with address correctly linked. I guess the blackbytes mechanism have still bugs to be addressed.

I keep on recommending this projects to my friends, more then most other projects. Unfortunately most don't take it seriously because of the name (yeah, I know it’s stupid… but these are some serious investors). I hope the project will undergo a rebrand to maximize it's well deserved mass adoption. For a successful rebrand example look at NEO, formally known as Antshares.

Talk to your "serious investors" the time with boring names is over!
The future will be ruled from nerds and companies with names like:

facebook
ebay
apple
amazon

all these names sound really stupid, if you ask me ... Smiley

When I mention "Byte balls" to someone, it gives very weird responses indeed. Calling them "GBYTE" is also confusing, as it's a standard term related to computers.
I understand why the name was chosen though.
Just explain that "ball" stands for snowball effect, and it's related to the technology.

When you think of it bitcoin sounds stupid too (as well as pizza)  Wink
