Anyone with a full node setup their own db of addresses yet? I'm curious to know what percentage of byteball airdropees have yet to move a single byte...

You can see everything on the explorer.
For example, this is one of the distribution units https://explorer.byteball.org/#umdNrD37FsQw76OaLmvr60KFBrDmpX1ymDeSAukVpic=, scroll to its outputs in the right panel.  You can see that the vast majority of recipients didn't move their coins.

Nobody here who could answer my questions?

I am currently busy with Byteball and have the following unanswered questions. I would be grateful if someone could answer this.

1) What exactly is the use case behind the profiles and attestations? Notarization?

2) The witnesses define the main chain. Does this mean that the main chain is rebuilt when witnesses change?

3) Are newly distributed bytes directly referenced to the genesis block?

4) How many Blackbytes will there be in total? Like Bytes 10^5?

1) Attestations are designed for regulated institutions.  They will likely want to restrict the assets they issue to those users who are attested.  What attestation means can vary by issuer, the most common requirement will likely be KYC.

2) It is not accurate to say that witnesses define the main chain.  The main chain is defined by every full node based on the protocol and the positions of witness-authored units in the recent history.  Only recent history matters, hence the MC is not rebuilt when witnesses change.  See the white paper for details.

3) All bytes descend from the genesis unit.

*Why I Stopped Using Cryptox.pl and You Should Too*

1. It's unreliable. Their website, bitcoin wallet, and Byteball wallet are all flaky.

I needed to sell some bytes for bitcoin one day and my deposit never showed up the entire day. So, essentially my coins were lost when I needed them the most. Of course the price also went down during that time, screwing me more. I contacted @grzem and he was just a total jerk, acting like what happened didn't matter, "and just wait longer" he said.

2. They're greedy. Less than .01 BTC (~$20) is considered dust and will be taken from you if it happens to hit your Cryptox account.

Bitcoin fees are getting crazy and everyone knows it (almost $2 now). So, I was using my Cryptox BTC address as the payout address from the Byteball chatbot exchange. So, when I sold bytes, the BTC would be sent directly to my Cryptox account, and I could buy more bytes. But on the chatbot, you don't control how much someone buys from your order, so small BTC transactions come out occasionally.

This morning I received some hostile emails from Cryptox staff, prolly grzem himself.

I asked for a URL link to their Terms of Service because I could not find it. They sent me a 1 word reply, "Information." Basically, their crappy site doesn't even have URL's so he cannot link me to one. Now I see that if you click Information in the sidebar (never even looked here because I was only interested in Byteball) and then Fees, then look at the chart Other Fees you will finally see something about BTC Deposit Minimum Transfer Amount .01.

Wait, what? Why would this be under Fees???

3. Now there are better, more trustworthy exchanges to trade bytes.

I'm going to switch to Bittrex and Cryptopia.

4. Did I mention Cryptox staff are jerks?

Ain't nobody got time for that.

My experience with cryptox was much better so far.
More than once, I helped them troubleshoot glitches in the wallet - not their fault.  Overall, their performance looks quite good for a combination of new coin and new exchange.  And I'm most grateful to cryptox for being first to believe and list us almost immediately after the launch.

Hi,

i am using a Ledger Nano S wallet. Some of my addresses are linked for Byteball. After making a tx from this wallet all my linked addresses show a 0 balance. I know, this is due to the changing address progress. How is it possible to see, in what address my remaining BTC are stored, so that i easily can link this BTC address with signing a message? I know the other way is to send my remaining BTC to one of linked addresses but with BTC and fees rise its becoming quite costly.

Thanks for support!

If you see that TX on a block explorer (blockchain.info or any other) you should be able to recognize which one of the outputs is your change address based on the amount each one received.

Is there a way to see the overall sync status of my wallet?
When I start it only tells me how many percent of new units it synced. It takes forever for me and feels like it's starting over again every time i start the wallet new.

Good questions, I hope Tony chimes in!

3) Are newly distributed bytes directly referenced to the genesis block?

Every Byteball was created at genesis, so Tony keeps them all in a single address. That is where he distributes them from.

See here:

https://byteball.fr/Top100ByteballRichest.html

The top address is the one containing all remaining Byteballs.

4) How many Blackbytes will there be in total? Like Bytes 10^5?

why does it take so long to sync?

It's been over 12 hours ... just at 11% on a MAC.

It is good youre pretending to be poor yet can "borrow" 10BTC for a bet.

Typical scammer.

So far 4 cases of you lies were exposed and 0 of mine. Am I wrong?

Nobody believes you. You dont have the money to even increase Byteball database by 1GB, poor peasant.

I'll earn those 15 BTC you offered, so I just need to borrow 10 BTC, do the testing and still get 5 BTC profit.
You need to borrow 10BTC?

Oh come on you have scammed more btc from selling iotatokens and then selling the same iotatokens again, and you tell the first victim "you dubmass forgetting to 'claim' your tokens again".

So "poor peasant" shouldn't have been read literally? Got it.

Its similar to CfBs, "hurr durr Im gonna flood your db with messages hurr".

You probably didn't believe me. This will happen once I get more time, odds of this happening within next 30 days is 90%.

Remember, Iota is a scam, an oxymoron with weak lead programmers with no experience in IoT and enjoy blowing hot air.
