Did you see the roonies on him???
New unique algo, with privacy- and anon-centric features. No ICO and fair distribution, looks really great dev keep it up!

Right now in your first 4 rounds you distributed about 16%. May I know how many more distribution rounds you plan to host, and over what time frame?

Disobey.
I've got a question concerning BLACKBYTES:
Will there ever be a possiblity of a trading platform for these? Or is it technically impossible to implement and sending directly to someone will be the only way?

Of course its free and open source software, https://github.com/byteball/byteballcore

You can also see the source of the transition bot.

I see you are returning to the same tactics. I'll paraphrase his concern.

Distribution is done in a centralized manner which requires to trust tonych unless there is a way to prove cryptographically that he can't send extra byteballs to himself without being caught. So now answer this: How is it possible to make sure that tonych (or who sends the byteballs) didn't abuse his power?

Sure, but there is bigger question about future of the "self issued" coins and partial open source coins.
I am thinking if good cryptographer with many skills can find the way to issue some new byteballs?
Why the people trust Byteball?
Look - there is many bitcoin clones and still is bitcoin about 1200 US$.
Then I prefer invest to open source. But I like the idea of Byteball.

Many unclear things about Byteball for me now. Maybe Tony can make it clear.
Anyway, great project!
Technically, all the bytes are generated/created in the genesis transaction unit, for tonych to create more, would require breaking same crypto as breaking bitcoin to create more coins. The same cryptographic library is used, secp256k1.

This is not a bitcoin clone. Its not another altcoin.

He can do other bad things, since he is now in control of 12 witnesses, he could stall or destroy the network, or double spend - but such actions would be obvious to everyone looking.

I, for one, prefer to trust one main developer, one person, rather than a group with their dirty dynamics always going on, for this significant yet fragile phase of the project. As the project matures, so will many more witnesses appear and community gain their trust and revoke tonychs control of 12 witnesses, when the project is stable, then we can have drama and invest in popcorn.

....
2.   You can link Bytes ( which you bought or which you got in previous rounds) to receive Bytes + Blackbytes
....
What yuo means "link Bytes"? if BTC  address already linked, It is not enough to get additional 10% for bytes located at the same address?
Sorry, that was misunderstood formulated.
To get new bytes, it is sufficient to hold bytes at an arbitrary BB address.
To get also blackbytes, it is necessary that this address is linked.
Linked means the address is known to the bot.
The bot knows an address, when the BB-address is linked to one or more Bitcoin address(es).
Whether the Bitcoin address is empty or contains a value does not matter.

If someone buys bytes and never linked a BTC address, he will receive only new bytes.

Maybe you are an active trader, at each transaction the Bytes will jump around between the BB-addresses (same as in a BTC-wallet).
In this case, before the snapshot, you have to make sure that the BTCs (to receive Bytes) and the bytes (to receive also Blackbytes) are on the linked addresses.
Therefore, there is always the hint to chat with the bot just before the snapshot (to check the balance).

That sounds good what is explained above the formula of distribution which enhanced my information. My entry to byteball through some friend of mine who told me to get some if I link my bitcoin wallet. Today I read I could use bytes as well. I will link my both wallets to get little more next time.

This an Airdrop Distribution – it’s very simple.
Tony distributes 1015  bytes (token) and ~the double amount (2,111,100,000,000,000) blackbytes (token).
There is no code for the distribution (is not required).
Only one rule: You get what you link.

There are two distribution routes:
1.   You can link your Bitcoin to receive Bytes + Blackbytes
2.   You can link Bytes ( which you bought or which you got in previous rounds) to receive Bytes + Blackbytes

Conditions and ratio of distribution see: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/obyte-totally-new-consensus-algorithm-private-untraceable-payments-1608859

if you don't believe tony then leave this thread. We believe him, love him & we're proud of him.
May God bless Tony  Cheesy

I think your problem is that you don't imagine Byteball in Top 10 on CMC. Once it gets there trolls will try to shittalk its price down to buy cheaper. So to make sure that they can't get enough food to sustain it's a moral obligation of Byteball devs to provide a way to verify the distribution process.

thats right. i never thought about that.
i just linked my BTC address and got the free coins. at the moment i just hold them because i don't need the money i could get by selling.

this questions has to be answered. not just because of the possibility that the dev creates some coins. bur maybe someone else could do it too.

byteball.fr
now provides hourly updated pictures of all Witnesses activity on the network.

Byteball.fr is an alternative hub (paired with master byteball.org) and community witness operated on a 300Mbps unmetered link.
To get efficient communication and faster wallet sync, or just to use our community-driven Witness:

In your wallet settings → hub set byteball.fr/bb

Nice job!

Thx!

Notice, if you use a different hub, the default GUI client will pull the witness list from the hub, so the byteball.fr hub will push its witness. Just a friendly reminder.

Actually, when you change the hub, "auto-update witness list from the hub" switches off. At least, it did for me. I switched it back on, and it updated witness list as expected.

Hi, I see that all the idea about byteball seems really good.

But:
The distribution method is not for me clear in case I cannot see source code.

Then my question is:
Is public accessible the code, how the distribution works?

In bitcoin, litecoin, etc. you can see all the code and you know, that you can mine or use other Proof-of-X in case other coins.
In this case are most (not all!) of self distributed coins flagged as scam.

Can somebody explain me how technically works distribution? Is all the code accessible?
I want invest money and buy some byteball (as investition), but little confused now.
