Help. I can see the byteball of my wallet address on explorer.byteball.org, but I cannot get it on the byteball client.

what's wrong with my wallet.  The 0.7.1 version client tips "no byteball prefix".

Thank you !

You need version 1.0.0

I receive byteballs for btc but not blackballs.

I installed on Windows10 Byteball-win64.exe Ver. 1.0.0 No toggle switch right under the bytes balance number, and I don't see blackballs in the History!?

I have the same problem, the same wallet version but Win7 Ultimate.

.
If you don't see the toggle you probably don't have 1.0 version of the app. Check your version. I didn't see blackbyte ballance until I upgraded. Remember to make a backup before upgrading.

I have v1.0.0 Win64 build installed. Do you have blackbytes listed at "History" tab?
No, there's a toggle switch right under the bytes ballance number. If you don't have it you might not recived blackbytes. Are you sure you are on livenet version?

Yes, you can see blackbytes in "History" tab, just select them from the drop down list.

Extreme price differences, I'm waiting for the next distribution rounds. Only 10% are distributed so far.

Make winning bets on sports with Sportsbet.io!
I can translate the ann to finnish language, is there bounty for it? Also, how can i receive byteball on the mainnet? Since the ann points out that there is some way to receive free byteball but i do not really understand how.

Sorry for may absence here.  I was so busy with the distribution that now have 15 unread pages in this thread and dozens of unanswered emails and PMs.

A few updates, or rather confirmations of what you already know:
1.  The network is now launched
2.  Latest version is 1.0.0. https://github.com/byteball/byteball/releases/tag/v1.0.0
3.  Transaction explorer is at https://explorer.byteball.org
4.  All bytes of the 1st round are distributed
5.  It is safe to move your Bitcoins out of the linked address before the next distribution round
6.  Distribution of blackbytes is still under way
7.  Total supply of blackbytes is 2.1111 * 1015, that is 2.1111 times more than that of bytes.  If you want to know more where this number comes from, see the whitepaper https://byteball.org/Byteball.pdf, page 44.
8.  Seems like many people never heard of blackbytes.  It is a currency with private untraceable payments where payment information is conveyed directly from payer to payee and never stored on the public database.  This means that payments in blackbytes are only possible when payer and payee are connected in chat.  This also means that you cannot restore blackbytes from a seed, and you need a full backup of the data folder https://github.com/byteball/byteball#byteball-backups-and-recovery
9.  To trade bytes, come to #trading channel in our slack http://slack.byteball.org/
10.  Don't trade blackbytes before their distribution is finished

Distribution of blackbytes is finished now.

Thank

So, do you need to back up the data directory after every transaction, or just once? I just backed up after receiving my blackballs, but just curious if I make a tx do I need to do it again.

To my understanding you need to backup every time you receive blackbyte because they are stored locally on your device. You don't have to backup if you sent blackbyte (no point to do this) and you don't have to if you received or sent white bytes (these are stored on the chain database and can be restored from seedwords).

I have a question regarding full node (wallet). Does it store the whole DAG data or part thereof? I mean if the data chain grows with time does running full node requires ever more data storage (like in Bitcoin)?

Is there any benefit to network if I (non-witness) keep wallet online at all times?

Quoted for visibility.  Wink

sorry if this already been discussed but how do i backup my precious bytes and blackbytes on android???

ATM there is now way to backup other to do a complete phone backup (you must have rooted the device to do this).
But you can add another wallet device in a multi-device setup and this other device will have your user data as well.
