I still love the prize of a compac stick.  I think winner might need it if they OC for 24 hours.

I'm really interested in what is max speed for 24 hours.  The 24 hours makes it interesting as that is a OC sustained for a while.  I think this contest will provide some great fun, and possibly great photos.

I will have time this weekend to tinker with mine.  Was trying to keep the cooling quieter since the Compac Cube runs in my bedroom.  But at my settings and cooling they are hot to the touch.
My 7 port hub says it's able to push out 2.4a per slot as long as all ports aren't full.  We will see.

As enthusiastic as I am about a contest to maximize a stick, I don't know that I'm up to it now.

I found these comments in the stick support thread-

meech - steadily running @300mhz 7.2 v adj. @ 1.52a with 4 hashing about 16-17ghs

edonkey's getting 16GH @306 Mhz

chig reports running at 400 Mhz  with no errors in 24hrs (no hash rate mentioned)

phillipma1957- I did run at 400 and got 22gh but was pulling over 2.1 amps or just about ten watts a stick.
(and i bet if phil unplugged the other 19 sticks in his stud(ly) hub, he could shoot lightning bolts into a stick and manage to keep it alive for 24 hrs.)

and this-

Did you see we jacked one up a bit yesterday and got it to 488MHz? Most of the high-power parts were actually still stock.

Keep an eye on sidehack, he might just want to win one of his sticks back.

that is funny.

i know i can get it to do 450 but i don't think it will last 24 hours.

I can feed four ports into 1 port and push 4+ amps but I think the leads to the finally port would melt long before 24 hours.

the contest is not going to start until weekend of nov 14-15. I am just to busy running a round to give it the full time I need to .  besides it lets people get their y cables and cooling setup.

I wish I had the guts to photo the mess my house looks like right now ,but I am cleaning the garage the two sheds the attic and the crawl space. I can not believe how much stuff is in my house.

Imagine that I have of of these, which I do.
http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10001_10001_123394_-1
And imagine that I once tried to hook it up to one of these thingshttp://technabob.com/blog/2012/06/19/28-port-usb-hub/ which failed, but at least I got to get angry and rip the thing apart to see how cheap it was made inside.

So, skipping any hub of any sort, suppose I can find a high quality usb 'connector', that will allow me to feed power to a single stick while the rest of the connector feeds my pi for operational purposes.
Point a case fan at it and I'm rocking.

Please tear this idea apart.

I'm excited to see it happen for 24 hours.  I have not modified my hub so I know my chances of winning are slim.

But just to watch this for 24 hours if someone jacks it up and runs it for a entire day will be impressive as heck.

I didn't receive my usb Y cable. iIwon't be able to participate until I get those Tongue

you are putting a lot of time in this.

this contest is not for a prize Im doing this just for the lulz and because I love hardware, and love competition. if I dont smoke at least one chip into a puddle slag with this well, its not true competition in my eyes. ill order more

thank you but please dont think you have to do this

bro don't you think the prize has to be wait for it :

Philip, is it okay to add another set of sticks? I could add it to my original worker, but I want to track frequency performance on total share level

sure mark it donation

you get credit for the hash

Is it important to "register" my small donation using the .alhdonation suffix? While it was only 1+ TH for a little more than 2 hours, I thought I would ask. It seems that the CK pool software recognized and recorded info for it.

I've added it anyways.

Small Update:
I have changed the stats a little bit. Instead of a total that keeps growing per day, I have decided to display how many shares PER DAY with a Total on the right hand side.

If you want to get credited for it in the eventually where we get a Block in this run, then yes. I believe previous run's hashrate won't be counted, though that would be good to get confirmation*.

At the moment it seem that half the reward would be shared evenly and the other half shared based on shares submitted, so registering your donation could be worth it.

Have to show a screen shot of hashing on hour zero and hour twenty four.

screen shots at midnight?

USA eastern time zone? daylight savings time? UTC time?

no  maybe 7 pm     EST   but  the date is nov 15th or so  maybe the 14th  of nov  and  I am not set in details.

Has to be stock as in no mods and only wind /air cooled.

Second contest will be any thing you can think of with your red hot sticks to crank them up and over the freq 425 mark.

Any power any volts any cooling etc.

As for cheating  I came up with the same issue    try run 2 versions at the contest one the actual  oc's stick and 2 a   u-2 stick  balanced at 10 pools so just a tiny bit of shares bleed into the oc stick's account.

I need to look into that to see if it is detectable.

How would someone explain more shares shown on the pool stats than what is shown as accepted shares in a screen shot?

I checked shares at 10:30 tonight shown in cryptoglance's pool page + the shares shown in cgminer and will see if they match up tomorrow night at 10:30.  If they match up, it's going to be kind of hard to explain 3,459,890 shares on the pool page, when the screen shot says 2,867,453... LOL
yeah I think that may prevent any problem .

I need to do some fuck around testing.

But if every contestant uses the same suggested diff and shows the starting screen shot I think we would be good.

Also crypto glance mentioned the contest stick will have a new name so all will start at zero. Need to be carefull with this.
