Its my understanding that the k64 will only have or need 1 pci-e and will also be connected with the I2c already in place (to the other 3) I am "assuming" the k64 will be just like the k16 and each board will have its own pci-e connector inplace, in case someone wants to seperate them. The one pci-e will draw 128 watts for all 4 boards. As far as the k16, Ofcourse 1 pci-e and they are supposedly coming shipped with an I2c cable per unit. They will draw 32 watts each. I like you would like a 2nd and 3rd conformation on this however! Smiley

EDIT: Especially if the k16 will have 4 pci-e connectors or just one. Because if seprated, then the only way to chain would be with the I2c cables..... which as 3 would not have pci-e connectors,,,which doesnt make sense,,,but that may be why they have a k64 to save money..? (eliminate 3 pci-e connectors) good question on that one there...since we have no picture or spec on a k64 so far..

Since the boards only have a I2c cable between them, it's my understanding that you will need 4 pcie power cables going to one K64 board.

If you go to bkk's site and get the data sheet it's really is just 4 boards right by each other.  I would love to see the board printed and a picture of it since you never see one and nobody ever talks about them.  Since it's 2 weeks from when they were hoping to ship you would assume they would have some K64 boards printed.

hmmm,,,,I was thinking 1 pci-e would power all 4 boards on the k64 and draw 128 watts etc. So if what your saying is so,,,and very well may be! ...then we would need 4 pci-e connectors for 1 board...ewe,,,thats not what i had planned for,,seems they would jump/chain the power off of 1 pci-e for all 4 boards? makes ya wonder why even have a k64 board otherwise? guess we need some more clarification on it,,

You could still use 1 PCI-E power connector from your PS per board - but your would need 3x [6-pin to 2x 6-pin] splitters per board.

For who?  TH?  I'm other side of the US from them.  Why shouldn't we defend them? People have been there and verified they exist and seen the parts.  They have posted a video of a board hashing.  I mean what more do you want?

Support questions answered.

What kind of support do you need?  You don't even have a product yet.

Also, TH does that k16 figure take into account the k64 boards? is that a single board (k64)...or 4 k16's somehow placed together,,,lol,,,been a little confusion on that.... Thx

k64 is 4x k16 printed on one larger pcb.  they can be separated, but not that easily   Undecided

also just saw in steamboat thread

B3 avalons (7 in total) just arrived for my group buy. Hopefully this means the chips will follow soon!

We are printing K64s with perforation between all the K16s, so that they can be separated easily.

I have a question in regards to this. So if the boards have perforations. Does this mean that i need 4 PCI-E/I2C connectors for each K64 board? Or is 1 PCIE and 1 i2c if daisy chaining all that is needed for each board? I had assumed the boards wouldnt be able to be easily detached. therefore would have hard connections between the 4 k16's. Please advised as i may need to gather more supplies..Thx

Edit: If it does require 4 for each is TH supplying the add'l I2C connectors? I know I read at least  will ship with each board.

How is this ironic even the slightest? They are a business and don't have any "investments" on the line. There is no doubt that the chips are coming, just when. I would classify your post as ironic.

I would assume because people on this thread where crapping their pants because they were not getting daily updates from TH.

KNCminer people post 1 time a month saying almost the same thing and everyone slobs all over them.

Uhh.. material purchases, equipment, and other SG&A are investments when you think about it.... (assuming that the orders placed for the chips, populated boards, and cases can be verified with invoices)

okay other than that ... youre right
but still doesnt change the fact that as fully paid customers
we cannot but feel anxious to receive the orders. I dont understand why you feel the need to defend them? Do you work for them?

Any word on anyone else receiving the chips after Zefir's batch one?

We are heavily invested into this, and it would be a shame if Avalon is causing unnecessary delays.

For an update: We have all the parts/components needed for assembly of up to 200,000 chips (12,500 K16s) either on stock, on the way to us, or on order due to be delivered within the next 2 weeks. We will be assembling 60,000 of our own chis, and have so far received orders for assembly of about 40,000 chips. We expect more people will send their chips our way, once they get them.

Forgive me for sounding somewhat trollish on this one, but I do have to laugh at the irony of your concern about not knowing the status of your Avalon orders.. Doesn't feel good, does it when you have investments on the line?

But thanks for the update nonetheless.

Only if Terrahash would post on the status of the Avalon chips and whether or not that feel they can still meet the delivery window for meeting all orders by 8/15...

This would put everyone at ease. The silence from Terrahash is deafening...

Have you read the board? Terrahash just posted twice today. To answer your question, we are all waiting for Avalon to ship the chips to Terrahash. Terrahash is ready to make our boards as soon as Avalon ships the chips. We are all at ease. Terrahash is doing a great job.

Sheesh, I feel like we just flashed back to 5 weeks ago...
lol,,, ya we dont want to go back to that dark period Smiley

Hey KL, was meaning to ask did you get  an ATX Bridging plug 24 pin?...I went ahead and ordered a couple....Don't think it was on your list,,,I assume we will need that to?? for psu on/off

Yep. Forgot to mention that. Mine just came in the mail today. Smiley

Btw the way, I wanted to give you guys an update about that Tripplite server box I ordered.

Don't order one unless you plan on mounting it to a wall. It doesn't come with a back panel which leaves it wide open on one side. If you mounted it to a wall you would be fine. Lots of room inside for everything. I sent it back to Amazon, and got a different case.
I'm going to use a Rosewill L4000 server case. Room for the boards, PSU, and RasPi.

What are  you talking about? Did you even read this thread?

Terrahash just said a few posts up that they are ready to go and waiting for Avalon chips just like everyone else. Terrahash can't do much more until they receive the Avalon chips, and always promised to ship within two weeks of receiving the chips.

Terrahash really isn't under the gun until they actually receive chips...
