I have it too. I'm nearly sure, that it is caused by particular node you are updating blockchain from. It sends corrupted data. So one time it works and another time if u connect to evil node it won't.
I solve it by connecting only to my trusted node.
Try picking one from the list on http://cthulhu.tk#nodes and run wallet with
-connect=
or add
connect= to your Offering.conf.
It works for me.
If anyone figure out which one is it, maybe we can ban it in our wallets (there is something like ban if I recall correctly).

im getting a I/O Error when I open the wallet and it syncs, how can I fix that?

I've been asking the Allcrypt guys to add OFF in the AllCrypt.com Coin Voting, it's now available.
I don't know the Cthulhu translation for "good luck and have fun", may be you get the meaning anyway or some translator will help

I've built a web based proxy to help advertise Offerings: http://cthulhu.cu.cc/ and the SciFi Coin Exchange etc.
Its a bit of a random free sub-domain, although the proxy web hosting itself is good. The website will be advertised in various proxy lists.
The proxy website currently serves just one on-click pop-under ad per. user session only for the SciFi Coin Exchange.

Try a few times. If it gives you an error every time, redownload blockchain.
