when I read this old article full of crap about:

- Bitmine was formerly Exion networks, though both companies still exist, and both controlled by MR. Massarotto
- a huge but invisible investment holding with thousands of employees, though no web site, registered in BVI but operating in Hong Kong holding 50% of Bitmine Inc.
- Bitmine building a huge mining datacenter in Asia for 14mUSD
- Bitmine ordered a couple of super computers for extra 12 mUSD each

http://www.coindesk.com/bitmine-to-drop-4phs-of-asic-power-onto-bitcoin-network-before-april/

I start wondering, if the type of people with this kind of imagination displayed in the press release are the same type of people,
that will actually deliver a real product.

What are your thoughts on this?

Has anybody heard about the latest developments w.r.t. PCB development/testing? (maybe their support mentioined smth on the phone?) I feel it is a bit early to talk about "systems ready for delivery" ; I suppose Bitmine, to calm the crowd, will first want to show photos of a system ready for testing. This could be a good moment to start counting days...

Was anyone given an exact "agreed shipping date"? I've been trying to get that from them for my order, and it seems they are trying to avoid stating an exact day. This date was supposed to be set at the time the order entered the shipping queue, because the CPP is based on a number of days after the "agreed shipping date". If they are able to fudge that date later, they can avoid giving additional hardware or refunds.

The way I understood it and had confirmed by bitmine on the phone is that you have ..

a) the agreed week of your batch. Say february first week.

b) So you go and take the first day of this week.

c) you add 10 days to this first day of that week. (allowed delay for shipment)

d) you get a clear day when the Customer Protection Plan is triggered, should you not have yet recieved your device on first day of week + 10.

Bitmine will absolutely inform you once the device is on the way, meaning it has been handed over to ups or dhl or whatnot for shipping.
Should you not have recieved the device within first day of week PLUS 10 days for shipping, you can apply for additional moduls should there be an overlap.

Should the delay be large enough , two weeks or more, you can expect the additional moduls to be shipped TOGETHER WITH your initial order, and NOT separately.

Now what can happen and what the bitmine guy on the phone was pointing at, was that ... should they recognize that the delivery will get a few days too late to you, because they are at day 9 after the first day of your week, they will simply add the moduls because there is NO WAY in the world the device will get to you in time.

I agree it's a little wishy-washy when it comes to this overlap in the first 10 days. But they clearly state that ONLY 10 days for shipment are allowed. And the FIRST DAY of the week is to be taken as starting point.

So I believe you can do the calculation, should you recieve an email that says: "Order shipped, here is transaction id"...

Thanks, that helps somewhat. I just wish they'd straight-up tell me the day when the CPP started. The best I have at the moment is an email received Nov 8 (I paid Oct 13) that said "Your estimate delivery date is last week of december." And when I asked for the date a couple days ago, they said "When your order enters the production stage will be calculated ... the initial estimated shipping date" as if they'll figure it out later, which makes it easier for them to fudge it in their favor.

The last full week of Dec started Dec 22 (Sun). If that's what they intend to use, they could just tell me that exact date now.

Does anyone know exactly how they were advertising the delivery date back on Oct 13? Maybe it was earlier than "last week of Dec"?

EDIT: The information below is wrong, please see updated information here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.4972393

or TL;DR;

take the first day of your batch week.

You should get an email on that very day, telling you the device has been handed over to a shipment company.

If you do NOT recieve this email, you can start counting the delay days from that first day of the batch week.

As simple as that.

Can someone from bitmine confirm this also here on the forum please?

Bitmine should offer to possibility to upgrade those extra rigs with a special price and ship them together with delayed rigs. that would be only possible way how it is possible to earn enough and equal out this loss.

+1 absolutely the best idea I’ve heard on this (but it would need to be a very good special price)

++2

absolutely.

@giorgiomassa and bitmine. if you read this please consider.

I'm in the US waiting on a Coincraft Desk rig, hoping to receive the end of Feb (not holding breath). Anyone know what kind of power plug the thing will have on it, and what kind of adapter I'll need?

Just Fun!
I hope they will ship as fast as possible.
of course everybody with order of one rig of 500GH would be happy to have 11days delay... i have 3 full rigs ordered and every single day delay is just huge minus.
so i hope they will have my rigs ready as soon as possible!

If you’ve got a full rig, and they’re 11 days late, my understanding is that they will be sending you your rig, plus another rig with (at least) one slot pre-populated.  You’d get (I think) a fourth rig with three cards populated if they were 11 days late.  Running your three with one additional TH/s (turbo mode) on that fourth rig should net you more than the three running 11 days longer.  Depending on which 11 days, of course.

I would assume the effect of delay on ROI is roughly like this:

3 rigs ordered at 3 THs = 9THS
1 rig for free at 1 THs = 11% extra hashing power
11 days delay = 20-30% loss of revenue

and it does not get better when "scaling" to 21, 31 or whatever delay.

Phone support said to me that this extra hashing power will be counted per rig, not per total. so i count with 1,5THs extra in 3 separate 500GHs rigs. its no difference how i would count, any delay is loss for me. only way is upgrading those extra rigs. it would cost extra money (i hope they will offer special price), but in the end it could end up by 0, depending of difficulty rise of course.

Knc is already selling 3 Thash/s for $10k shipping Q2 with efficient hash/power, so let's hope that Bitmine will outperform Wink

Looks like the Cointerras are now hashing!

Anyone explain why the hash rate just double overnight?

Is it HashFast?  Cointerra or Bitmine causing the spike.  Or is all 3 together?

KNC is going to be late in the game if they are talking Q2.

HashFast are already shipping.
Cointerra has demoed a full working system.
Bitmine has demoed working ASICs.

There will be a flood this February!

where did you see doubling hash rate overnight?

Hashfast says they are shipping, but there is still no proof that they really do. no unboxing videos or any confirmations from customers that they have their miner. only hashfast homepage says that they are shipping...

KNC can surprise anytime. Q2 is a bit late, but we don´t know really how rest of developers go on.

there is already a flood! nobody ships and hash rate is growing... mysterious flood!

KnC is already in the game with several successful batches of Jupiters and Saturn, with their 28 nm process.

I'm talking about their next generation (20nm) here, that is announced for Q2.

There will be a flood this February!

I think the flood will start sooner, it might very well have started already. Don't forget factory "burnins"

Well somebody is defintely buring in their rigs!  You don't double in hash rate in a single day!
And there was a test run just before diff increase 5-6 hours. However the guys are smart enough to wait a little bit to max out their profit and they are on full power now Cry
