terrahash indicated they are requesting refunds for the Avalon chips.  Terrahash is looking to refund all orders at least 50%.
yet he has not logged into the forum this month ! He is probably running in the opposite direction.

I'm nobody.
I never said they were on the same side. Obviously there is some misunderstanding here. Personally I have not seen any of the two places we were looking to lease. All I know is we finally chose 1261. We will take possession in a couple of days, and then you will be more than welcome to come visit us.

I'll drive by next week, but I don't know which day of the week.
It'll be interesting to see whether the "For Lease" sign is gone, for instance.

Personally, I'm not interested in Avalon ASIC-based mining rigs.
I briefly considered buying a batch of 10000, then realized that 10000 Avalon ASICs draw about 28 kW or so - a rather unwieldy wattage, especially in areas supplied by Plunder, Grab & Extort (PG&E).

I'm in exactly the same boat - really not interested in avalon based products unless they downsize the process...

Nice of you to be willing to protect forum users even tho you aren't in the market for these.

I'd suggest anyone who is helped by your diligence to tip you =P

I'll tip whoever can get me a profitable miner. Till then, you all can keep sucking my dick (aka-providing me with info for absolutely nothing in return.)

OK pal.

You are right I am a noob and I haven't read through all Terrahash related threads. In fact I don't know jack shit about them.
Just wanted to know why they are automatically labeled scammers just because they give out the wrong address.

Although it's very interesting why they would do that, I agree.
Hopefully you won't find anything too suspicions on their new address.

Why the need for a separate thread on this? You could have posted your "investigation" in their thread.

And I don't understand why you have labeled it "possible scam"? AFAIK they haven't asked for anyones money yet.

Too soon bro, too soon.  Tongue

Noob, you could have checked the thread creation dates, then you would have found out that I created this thread BEFORE they created their own thread.

But you're probably too much of a noob to check thread creation dates and such.

For the record: Since I live and work in Silicon Valley, I was asked (in a chat forum) to check out their [then] 1258 Birchwood, Sunnyvale address. When I drove there, their 'address' turned out to be an alleyway between two existing addresses - 1260 Birchwood and 1256 Birchwood. I asked at **BOTH** existing addresses whether they had ever heard of 1258 Birchwood. At both addresses, the answer was negative...

After doing all that, I created this thread.

Half a day or a day later, Terrahash created their own thread and suddenly changed their address on the website to 1261 Birchwood, which is diagonally across the street from 1258 Birchwood and which had (and still has) a 'for lease' sign in front of it.

Again, draw your own conclusions. I'm *not* claiming that Terrahash is a scam. I'm merely stating that there is some **possibility** it could be a scam, given their history of nonexistent and 'for lease' addresses and all.

It's early days with these Avalon chip based products, as Avalon have chosen to take several months before the chips are out there in the hands of board makers. So I wouldn't panic just yet, also the Klondike design on which the Terrahash is based hasn't even been finalized and tested!

Terrahash is now registered as a business with the state of California, its headquarters listed at a RESIDENTIAL address on South Mary Avenue in Sunnyvale. One of these days I will drive there during lunch break and take a picture of the house. Maybe, with a little bit of luck, I'll be even able to find out who lives there.

Stay tuned...

I personally get the feeling that they are one huge scam in the business of getting as many free chips as possible so they can mine with them. With all these ASIC companies, except ASICMINER, they stand to gain more by keeping the hardware to themselves and mining with it. So naturally TerraHash is not considered a scam because they have not taken pre-order money, but I speculate they are not interested in that, they want your chips to plug to their boards and mine the fuck out of Bitcoin while you stay at home jacking off to dreams of discovering a block.

in another words they will likely to scam right?
