For those who are bringing up processing times for their btc withdrawals, please see this page for our requirements for auto-withdrawal processing: https://www.bitfinex.com/withdraw/greenline

If you meet these security requirements your withdrawals will be processed automatically and therefor massively cut down on the time it takes to process the withdrawal. If you don't, we must manually review your withdrawal and ensure that everything is in order and that the account doesn't appear to be compromised.

If you guys have any questions just let me know.

The Golden Rule Rules
I made several small withdrawals recently.  Any reason they've been at processing for hours now?  Usually it is instant, and it should be because these are like 0.01 withdrawals (for my signature campaign payments).

Just a general question, I read some where some time that corporate users account for the majority of the volume on bitfinex, is this true?

Confirmed this here: http://www.cftc.gov/idc/groups/public/@lrenforcementactions/documents/legalpleading/enfbfxnaorder060216.pdf

Does anyone lend BTC using FRR and autorenew? Returns seem pathetic, both because the FRR is usually very low and because a big percentage of the time they aren't being lent.

I think the recent update shifted everything over a column and played around with the decimal places..

Ah, nice that they promise to be faster now. Smiley

In case this gets outdated again: https://www.bitfinex.com/support#section-moving-funds <-- source for the 12 hours promise on cryptocurrencies.

Good. I miss the old days where it was a matter of minutes..

Just in case, Cryptsy problems also started with delays on withdrawals

I get my BTC within minutes usually, the last withdrawal was just a few days ago. Maybe I got lucky with hotwallet availability...

...
is it really necessary for a Bitfinex lending bot to have such a complex setup procedure (server, php, mysql, cronjobs), or is it possible to make a python script for it just like the Poloniex lending bot?
...
It is not necesarry, you'll use what you already have. In this case the scripts talking with the API are written in php, this is running on a server, mysql for some stats, cronjobs to run the scripts regularly.

I have personally no clue about Python, but sure, it's possible. Like Sukrim mentioned above something written in Go. The script/programming language used does not matter as long as you can access the API with it. Smiley

There is an easy one written in Go out there that more or less just requires you to put your API key in a config file and select your strategy - then you just need to run the script every x minutes.

Hi. I want to margin fund USD for the nice interest rate. But I don't know how to do this effectively. If I auto-renew with FRR, they won't be taken (yet).

And if I do it manually, I'll have to do it too often and I kinda just want to forget about it.

You could use auto-renew at a rate slightly below the FRR, but then if the FRR drops below your rate your offers won't be taken. The only other option is a bot like the previous poster suggested. There are two for Bitfinex, but not easy for a non-technical person to set up. I managed to get a Poloniex lending bot running, but that was much easier (install the python programming language and then run the lending script) and i wish there were a Bitfinex lending bot that's that easy to use.

To all you programmers out there: is it really necessary for a Bitfinex lending bot to have such a complex setup procedure (server, php, mysql, cronjobs), or is it possible to make a python script for it just like the Poloniex lending bot? I would be VERY grateful to anyone who wrote such a python script.

You might use the API and write a script to lend your funds automatically as you wish/following your rules.

I'm not sure, but someone published a script some time ago...

Here you go: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-marginbot-a-bitfinex-margin-lending-management-bot-865250
Never used it, but this is basically what you would need to keep the funds automatically in swaps.

...and it can be 21 hours more, since it will take up to(!) 24 hours (but often faster).

I didn't want to close the position.

Update - clicked the claim button and it had a message before it executed. I was worried that it might execute automatically. I claimed the position and it worked as expected with a 0.2% fee.

just close it manually on the opposite  site   of margin trading its the same as the close button  except the close button just dumps it to whatever the market price is.  if u short for 10 btc  u would long for 10 btc and they will counter and close it.
