on the Gridseed support, is the Scrypt only support turning off the Sha side of the chip.

Are you saying that when scrypt only mode is enabled the sha side is still on?

yes on the original build of cpuminer(sorry stated cgminer above) the sha part of the circuit was on and pulling power.
a new build that only runs Scrypt, turns off the sha part of the circuit and runs at a much lower draw

Haven't tried bfgminer yet since the 5 chip Gridseed has been added on a beta build?

The options I would like to see supported is
Scrypt only turn off the Sha part of the chip. when running in Scrypt only gridseed should pull no more than 7 to 9 watts.
I know the original CGminer SHA was on even though it wasn't being used.

Sha Only, which at todays difficulty would be a fools goal but to each his own.
Dualmode.

Will see what I can do to compensate.

Thanks for your hard work Nwoolls and Luke-Jr

I am running the gridseed-dualminer-support branch on my Pi, and everything works great.  Only problem was cloning that branch I kept getting 403 errors, so I just download the zip from the site.  Compiling it I had to git clone the bfgmaster source, delete the files from the master, and move the files from the gridseed-dualminer-support into that directory in order to rund Autogen.sh.  After that it compiled fine and I am able to run my 4 gridseed 5 chips, and 16 dualminer usb sticks in one window.  I am not sure if the gridseed 5 chip I was able to overclock to 850, I used the --set-device gridseed:clock=850 ? It took the argument but the hashrate is about 10kh/s lower that with freq 850 in cgminer.

Thanks again

Any suggestions? I hope I don't need to manually compile some version just for this as I thought it was built in as the ReadMe.txt file has it as an available option.

Run the 32-bit version. You don't have to run the 64-bit version on a 64-bit OS.

Trying to work out getting my cube to work with BFGMiner instead using the proxy.

Read through quite a bit of stuff on here and figured out that I don't have the --http-port command available in my 3.10 build (windows 64bit). When I try to execute the command it says --http-port option unrecognized.

Cube is up and running fine with the proxy but like the display and statistics of BFG better.

Any suggestions? I hope I don't need to manually compile some version just for this as I thought it was built in as the ReadMe.txt file has it as an available option.

i`ve managed to compile it, it runs, it detects all the gridseed devices, it seems like they are hashing but they don`t find any share at all

any ideas ?

Have you tried different pools? Some scrypt pools have different addresses for high diff and low diff (high is usually 1-2 MH/s) miners, and if you're at a "high" one you might not be able to get any shares.

I ran into this issue too. Don't use high-diff servers for a 70 or 300 Kh/s device.

Also from your output it looks like you only ran it for less than 3 minutes. Try giving it longer so luck has time to play out. Also try just one server. Trial and error will help here since it works well for others.

do you think overclocking the GS units is worth it? Do they get hot and could that be an issue re the non-acceptance?

Windows found my DualMiner with no issues.  I did already have this driver pack installed though.  These are the correct base drivers for many USB ASIC devices that would be run on BFGMiner.
http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx

I use LTC Rabbit.
https://www.ltcrabbit.com/#afkun1

They have a solid pool with an altcoin bonus when applicable.
The other that is good is Scryptguild.com which is currently in beta.

I hope it helps and Happy Mining.

What server (pool) are you using or would you recommend? I am bring up 40 Gridseed (5 chip) miners up on Bfgminer tonight, want to be as consistent as I can.

Did you have to load any drivers for BFG to see the Gridseed units?

So no drivers to load on a Windows machine to have them recognized by Bfgminer?

Thanks for the pool list, I will try them tonight

if I plug the units in that crappy controller they spew couple hundred frames in 2 min mining on the same pool. Even that cgminer (which locks up the pi) spew shares almost instant.

anybody care to share the file (i`m runing arch linux on a Pi)

I have 20 runnning, and when I start bfgminer it hashes but I get no accepted shares. 3rd column for hashing shows 0 while the first 2 are fine. Can't remember the exact code that flashes on the screen, something along the lines "cannot wake device", or something to that effect. Running Win 7 x64 with all the command line options nwools states. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure you ran autogen.sh - that should clone requirements into the ccan directory. If that doesn't work copy over the contents from a working clone of the master repo.

I am at my wits end with this Antminer U2+.
I have tried all kinds of combinations of -S antminer: all, auto, \\COM4, capitol letters, small case letters, with --set device; without it.
I've uninstalled drivers, rebooted, made sure to check the remove all drivers box, reboot after reboot.
Installed the VCP drivers from Silicon Labs, ran the .exe as admin yada yada.
Deleted my .conf, several times.
Deleted BFG Miner 3.10.0 win 32, then un7zip to C\ a fresh copy as admin, etc, etc, etc.
I've run as administrator, installed as administrator.
Opened BFG Miner with CMD Prompt as admin, launched from command line.
All of these steps have been repeated on  two separate Windows computers, XP Pro and 7 Pro.
Even CG Miner refuses to work with this Antminer U2. But with a different message "USB init, open device failed, err -3, you don't have privilege to access -AMU device 2:1"
Now I only mention that because its the only line of any output that has reflected AMU.
And yes,I have properly removed Zadig from that computer( XP Pro) and left CG at that.

With VCP driver installed, Windows usually will give some thing like the following thru Device Manager (as admin)-
nit picking the parts that have Silicon Labs  or USB to UART type info.

   Location Path
PCIROOT(0)#PCI(ID01)#USBROOT(0)#USB(1)
   Device Instance Path
USB\VID_10C4&PID_EA60\0001

   manuf- Silicon Laboratories
   Location- Port_#0001.Hub_#0005
USB Root Hub Location- Intel ICH8 Family USB Universal Host Controller-2831 (10%- resources)

Launching Bfg Miner from the cmd line with-   bfgminer -d? -D -S antminer:all
I can pick out relevant lines with -

  lowlevel_scan: Found vcom device at com:4 (path=\\.\COM4, vid=0000, pid=0000, manuf=(null), prod=(null), serial=(null)

  lowlevel_scan: Found usb device at usb:005:e002 (path=(null), vid=10c4, pid=ea60, manuf=(null), prod=(null), serial=(null)

Icarus Detect: Test Failed at \\.\COM4:get00000000, should:000187a2

Windows sees that a device is there and lets Silicon Labs drivers install for it and BFG Miner sees that something is in the usb port but I'm not seeing things that I expected like manuf=(siliconlabs) prod=(USBtoUART)or(CP2102) serial=(Huh??)

 What's relevant?   What's missing?
