President Donald Trump and his team dances with a sword in Saudi Arabia welcome ceremony shows old guys dancing together in completely different cultural environment.  Even as quest Donald looks very upset during the sword dance in fact. Obama looked much better in his foreign visits. See good quality video here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4525766/Trump-takes-traditional-Saudi-sword-dance.html.

I would dance like that too if i were robbing the biggest Oil producing country there is.

1- USA prints USD out of thin air.
2- USA buys Oil from SA with those papers.
3- USA sells guns to SA and collect its papers back.
4- USA creates more jobs at gun business.
5- SA sells more Oil to get more USA papers.

Everyone is happy. Trump is a brilliant businessman.

You assert #1 leads to #2, but it doesn't. It's not the US government that buys the oil but various companies. Those companies don't have the ability to print the dollars. (It could be that in a few cases, of course, the US government does directly buy oil or a by product. For example Trump's plane is over there now. The payment for refueling it was a US government purchase directly.

The oil market is "fungible," which means that anyone can buy from anyone. Regardless of established long term trading partners, if someone offers a higher prices, he'll get the business.

You can only trick people who were born yesterday with those lies. Those "various" oil companies are owned directly by the US government. In this situation this puppet company is "Exxon Mobil"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ExxonMobil

You can't seperate the big companies from the US government because, the US government itself is a big company being run by a businessman.
Absolutely agree. Exxon Mobil is the world's largest publicly traded international oil and gas company, just check the latest stock market report on https://www.newsquantified.com/stock-quote/XOM , it is prosperous and very successful. Moreover, Exxon Mobil is closely related to US goverment.

As for America supporting the Kurds, wouldn't that piss of the Turks, who also have a separatist Kurdish group?

That's the reason why the previous administration (Obama regime) refrained from supplying APCs and advanced weaponry to the Kurds. But after the failed coup, the relations between Erdogan and the Americans have soured. That may be the reason why Trump is now willing to provide advanced weapons to the Kurds.

It's easy to see why. Erdogan is starting to show the signs of a typical autocrat. He has also been less subtle about his friendship with Putin.

Provide weapons to Kurds? Ah, the typical way Uncle Sam says "fcuk you!". Grin I wonder if they're also behind the recent "terrorist attack" in the Philippines, just as Duterte was in Russia. (Consequently, he have to rush home and didn't have enough time to personally meet Putin.)

The Kurds also have territories in Iraq and Syria right? I wonder what benefits America would get from having all those areas become a Kurdish country. Do they, um, have oil?  Wink

We can only guess what Russia and America are up to.

I guess the Americans are there just for their allies (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait.etc). They are supporting the YPG (Kurds) as well. On the other hand, the Russians want to make sure that Assad remains in power. They have a naval facility in the city of Tartus, which is strategically very important.

Ah, just like in Crimea eh? It seems to always be the case for Russia. Sucks when your access to the sea is mostly through allies, an enclave and some Arctic ports.

Donald Trump is a businessman and he is always serious thus he is still adjusting himself to this kinds of affairs. Businessman finds entertainment like this boring events since he always wanted to get into business. While watching those shows probably he is already dreaming and planning on how to make America great again. Businessmen always thinks of business and less on pleasure. Trump is just bored.

Oh, first time I heard this so I looked them up. No wonder people are claiming that America was funding ISIS... those are American guns they were using.

Back to Arabia, you said they provided weapons to the FSA. Do you think the Syrian civil war is more a proxy war between the Arabs and Persians? These two hate each other so it wouldn't be surprising.

If I remember correctly, Iran is one of Assad's backers, aside from Russia. Maybe the Saudis want to get rid of him because he's a Shia...

The Syrian conflict is more complex than a simple Sunni vs Shia fight. The rebels are almost entirely Sunni, but the fact remains that a lot of them also support Assad. Opinion polls have found that a simple majority of the Sunnis support Assad, while he draws almost complete support from the minority groups (Shiites, Christians, Yazidis.etc).

Within Syria, it seem it really is that complex. After all, some even point out the civil war possibly have not started if parts of the country didn't experience drought. There is some economic reasons for it. With outside players though, it seem it can be much simpler. Iran likely support Assad to ensure the Shia minority there don't get persecuted like elsewhere. The Saudi's are probably just doing it to expand their sphere of influence. We can only guess what Russia and America are up to.

On the other hand, since Saudi Arabia is a government rather than a terrorist group in hiding, you can actually track where they are using the arms being given to them. Most of the support they'll give to terrorist groups would be financial, for example funding the construction of mosques that would later be used as recruitment centers and donations to Islamic "non-profit organizations".

They have indulged in financial as well as weapons support for the terrorist groups. For example, many of the US-made BGM-71 TOW missiles which the Saudis provided to the FSA, ended up with the ISIS.

One thing is clear. Despite his anti-Muslim rhetoric, Trump regards Saudi Arabia as the most important ally in the middle east. That means that he will not give permission for the intelligence agencies, to probe the alleged Saudi links during the September 11 attacks. The Saudi royals will be much relieved now, with how the things turned out.

I'd probably be nervous if I have Saudi Arabia for an "ally".  Grin

There's no doubt Saudi Arabia an US have a very profitable relationship. The US can get oil if they decide they don't want to frack and the Sauds get top-quality arms to hold on to power.

There might be some other factors as well though. It was particularly telling that Saudi Arabia was not included in Trump's proposed Muslim ban despite it exporting Wahabbism.

Saudi Arabia is a terrorist state.  They support terrorism.  Giving them arms is like giving arms to ISIS.

Aye, I also seem them that way. Which is why it's infuriating that past administration has tried to protect them from prosecution in their possible involvement in 9/11.

The Americans have armed the Taliban and this led to the fact that now is a weapon of war against the Americans. It seems to me that the same thing will happen with these deals. That may interfere with the Saudi radicals to sell these weapons to Libya or Pakistan. Yes, actually anywhere.

This. Eventually, conflicts end. When they do, the war infrastructure in place starts to get missing, especially in the losing territory. A great many grenades and RPGs made it back in golf club bags and luggage after the Korean conflict; Russian drug dealers are the current proud owners of Soviet tanks and  military surplus that would make our SWAT teams blush. When the dust settles, these weapons will trickle down to the next regime with sympathies from the existing regime. Ultimately, just by placing military hardware that can be misappropriated in a region with hostile actors, we have harmed our future operational security.

To above poster with the picture, I think I see what you did there. You get a cookie Wink

You are truly pitiful. Does Obamas approach look good in the world of cucks? Getting barely noticed by feudal overlords?

Comparison of the two:

In fact the only reason for the sword dance was that, unlike Obama, Trump is respected and even feared by Saudis. As he should as United States president in feudal theocracy. Who is the alpha here, please feel welcome to tell me. I dare you.

First lady comparison:

This good picture shows the president's perspective on each visit. Many striking differences I understand what is in the head of donald rtrump

Ya god emperor trump just sold the sauds weapons for 460 billion $ for the next 10 years.
Half a trillion ladies.
Islamic extremism now has enough weapons to wage war through the whole century.

Good job mr trump. You showed the muslim pigs where they stand.

It wouldnt wonder me if ISIS will be using 5th generation jets soon Cheesy

You are butt-hurt because your country (Germany) lost out. The revenues will go towards the American treasury, and the Germans can only sit back and watch. Perhaps you should try selling your weapons to Iran or North Korea?

In fact several weapon selling contracts in worth of billions of € from germany to saudi arabia was cancled because of public pressure.
In germany weapon sellings are usually under more scrutiny then in the US.

And in relation to the US we dont want to sell weapons to the nr. 1 ISIS supporters.

Edit

Actually germany cancled or postponed every weapon export to the sauds since 2015.

You forget the terrorism part where whole Europe burns while accusing Muslims.

But you're right though, the real responsible for all that shit are easy to find.
They talk loud and they're just on the other side of the Ocean.

First of all, America is not a major victim of the terrorist attacks. During the past 10 years, most of the terrorist incidents have occurred in Europe, Asia and Africa. And the US-Saudi relationship is mutually beneficial for both. The Americans desperately need the petrodollars from Saudi Arabia and the other GCC nations.
