Just thinking out loud...what's to keep the scrypt asics mining CSC? They are looking (for the most part) to get ROI and will mine whatever coin does this the fastest. Not sure if relying on next gen scrypt asics to secure the blockchain will work. If anything they make it much easier to do harm than good.

any active nodes for this network ?

It has seeds available automatically via DNS as well. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to start syncing. There's still quite a few old clients out there with incompatible versions that slow down syncing.

Here's an idea ... getting operational gambling sites as Joint Venture partners.
It's easier said than done, I had contacted several large gaming websites(some Bitcoin some not) about the potential to accept CsC on their platform and the same response seems
To be coming that it might be an option in the future but at this time they would pass up the offer.

We just need to find the right online casino, or someone builds their own and knows how to market it very well.

if the market cap was at least $500k, this might be easier to justify as a funding option. I need to get back on GMO:s ass and see if I can restart the effort to setup a system to enable purchasing casinocoin through japanese convenience stores again. Something like this could incentivise better adoption.

That would be great. Making casinocoin that easy to buy would push the price sky high. The market cap could easily go over $500k if you could buy coins in convenience stores.

How do you envision that working? We'd also need to identify potential partners to approach.

any plans for AUXPOW,, probably make a difference in this coin, hashrate is security and I dont think asic;s are going to make as much difference as you would think.. mergemining on the other hand would increase the hashrate considerable and I would think it would make the coin more marketable to the online gaming industry..

Last major update was in June/July timeframe and the coin has been very stable since. We'll implement whatever changes the community as a whole requests. That being said, there's alot of people that want to see if asics may be a positive influence before we consider changing the key stretching algorithm.

With asics, I expect a few things to happen:

1. hashrates will increase
2. difficulty will increase
3. there should be a shift in newly minted coins being distributed to many small miners to them being distributed to a much smaller group of larger miners
4. higher hashrates increase the overall security of scrypt coins in general

If the above occurs, one could expect two effects:

1. the ongoing selling pressure from the current base of small miners should lessen
2. mainstream investors may start to see scrypt altcoins as a potential investment vehicle

Remember, everyone is looking for the next coin that will increase a 1000x or more in the next couple years. Alt coins have been very tempting. However, they've lacked overall hashrate and they've been abused as a vehicle to earn bitcoin. If any alt coins are to survive and become mainstream, we;re going to need to strengthen and legitimize a portion and it's possible asics might do that for scrypt coins.

This is why I personally continue to accumulate and effectively reduce the number in circulation.

If you wish to improve the usability of casioncoin, we should work to create more gambling sites, services, and tools as a community.

Yaye. Someone dumped 150k to me last night. It's like an early xmas gift. lol
r u still believe the coins?

Do you believe in any coin?

Yes of course. Everyone is down on alts. Bitcoin and all the alts were very beatup this year. However, I think casinocoin has a bright future considering its branding and the future proliferation of scrypt asics. For now, I'll continue to accumulate in preparation for a potential popularity increase in scrypt coins following mass asic adoption.

It's well over a year old now which is more than you can say about most alts. I still believe in it.

ATMs turned out to e a very cost inefficient method of making coins available. I looked into the convenience store payments, however GMO in Japan gave me the run around on getting a demo account. They seem to be more inclined to work with their partner Bitflyer.

I have some other stuff int he works, but I've been absolutely strapped for time since August. I'm hoping to get back to these projects more significantly in the coming months.

BTW, pretty much all altcoin are beat up up. Seems like a good opportunity to stock up before ASICs start flowing from Bitmain this month. ASICs should be a real game changer for altcoins IMHO.

CasinoCoin
Im around, haven't gone anywhere! Just renewed the domains for another two years on casinocoin.org, casinocoincity, and cccitypoker. the casinocoinfoundation ones are going to expire if anyone wants to pick them up. Along with cscpool.net is going to expire.

I am not a marketing guy by any means, with that being said tried my best to get the coin out there on exchanges and keep up with everything at the same time!

There is still general interest in casinocoin, proof by the hashrate, steady price and holders still accumulating. We just really need a large brand name online casino to accept us since the work or money in starting one is tremendous.

Always open to ideas, and glad you guys are still sticking around.
