Yo CSC devs.....
How's getting rid of the nasty old miners working out for ya'?
Doing what you thought it would?
What is it you want to hear? That the devs are incompetent and made a wrong call? That we have no knowledge about crypto, mining and network security? That we are prone for an attack because hashing rate dropped below 1 GHash?
Some Bitcoin mining pools have gotten so big that they even fear a 51% attack from one of those, ... even with all that hashing power available! For me the fork was not as much about influencing the miners directly but more about the amount of coins generated. It has been a call for the long term future and not for the short term value or network security. We had about 20000 to 25000 new coins every day and that would have continued for the next 3 years and then to 0. If you want this coin to go to $1 value it would have been very difficult with 25000 new coins every day. Now with around 2000 new coins every day its much more easy and current coin holders value will not be diluted as easily. Also the long term reward is now the same, we'll see about 2000 new coins every day for the next 35 years or so, instead of a 0 coin reward and only fees based mining in a few years time, ... how would that influence your mining network? Bitcoin already starts to suffer from rising mining fees, they already calculated that Bitcoin fees could go as high as 3.3% if the reward drops towards 0 in the future. For CSC the low fees are one of its mayor advantages for Casinos over e.g. Credit Cards. The miners will return as soon as the coin value goes up because thats the only reason people mine, not for the fees. Network security will increase automatically when coin usage and value increase. If the coin value does not go up in the future (talking over the next 3 years here), it means that CSC has failed to be adapted by the Casino industry and i think the network will die off in that case anyway, ... as will most other cryptos by that time.
But, ..... as far as the devs are informed, .... it seems that things move ahead in the background and i am still confident CSC will have a bigger impact in the future. Some real life processes like regulation and permissions just take longer as expected.
