Usually in the Olympic games teams go with the reserve players. And be ready we can see a lot of surprises here. As I mean great teams go with reserve players but less known teams go in full capacity and want to show something to the world so that's why I think we will see some surprises during these games. It was always the case but nobody really cares to bet on these events actually cause nowadays there are many more to choose games. Of course the betters will bet for the teams they know well rather than for a team like Fiji which for me its first time I see it.

Well, it's not the World Cup, but I do think there will be a lot of pride at stake. And as others have said there will be young, new players hungry to prove themselves and wanting to take advantage of this opportunity to showcase themselves to all the scouts.

I am looking forward to the betting action as there doesn't seem to be much parity in the first round matches.

I don't think any of the European teams will take the Olympic football tournament seriously. The new season starts soon and they are already pretty tired after the conclusion of the Euro 2016. They can just give the cup to Brazil from the beginning and close the tournament Grin And also Argentina without Messi is a mediocre team at best so the competition for Brazil will be pretty low anyways.

Germany and Portugal has chance to win the gold medal into this event, Portugal has very high confidence level after winning the Euro 2016, Germany is also wonderful side and will play with more positive approach.

Argentina with Messi>?

i want you smile messi is over old and high senior and star player
olympic under 23 old play, but 3 player is welcomer over 23 year old
but is if senior player super start player is
seldom really wants to join, in addition to the prohibition of the club of his, the players also rarely want, liabilities clubs release players for the Olympics is if a player under of 23 age years, if not, there is no obligation, when a national team force ya have to pay a fee

Olympic football for popular teams is an event to test out their new and unused players. I've never seen any popular player playing Olympics in recent history.

When will players rest? Portugal and Germany are playing matches until mid July. They didn't even have time to rest and new season will start 3 weeks later. Early qualification games are already started in CL and EL. Next week Olympics will start, fixture is too pressed.

Technically there is only 1 restrictions

Under current rules, the Olympic tournament is for players 23 and under. Teams are also allowed to field three "over age" players.

Argentina, Brazil, and Germany have really strong squads.

im excited to see Lanzini and Walace play

Brazil seems to be the consensus favorite to win Gold going into the tournament for obvious reasons including home field throughout. They will be familiar with the weather and playing conditions and they will have overwhelming presence and support from their people. With that comes big pressure as their supporters will expect them to perform and take Gold. Argentina is next favored as they are next-door neighbors to Brazil and and will also have huge fan support in attendance as well as big pressure to do well. Germany is the third favorite. They have a very strong team and should easily advance to the Second Stage considering the other teams in their group. Portugal is another favorite. They are still riding high on their Euro 2016 Championship Title.

So what do you guys think? See any juicy match ups/odds in the First Stage?
