As far as I know you should add fresh list of new nodes which were posted by Deeper. I'm not an expert but old nodes are connected to old chain, and even exchanges will need to update them. So, I think it would be better to follow Deeper advice and update them in your .conf file.

Wow, that's a complicated task that takes years to accomplish... Anyhow, if you'd like to be able to dig into DeepOnion code, you'd need to learn C++; there're many tutorials, just find someone that suits your level. Good luck, C++ path is a hard one
