WARNING!!!
Ranking system on BTCtalk is being changed. Please everybody check your ranks to see if it was changed.
I think that Jr.Members will be most affected as I think that their signatures will not be valid anymore.
I am sure that DO moderators will react to this and that we will have updated information what to do soon.

I checked and continue with the same ranking. But I think the signature link does not work anymore.

Hmm. Thanks for the info

I saw on DeepOnion.org that jr. members were discontinued and signatures were broken. But everything is still good here at bitcointalk.
That's misinformation. Junior members can't have links in their signatures anymore. The problem starts with bitcointalk, not the DeepOnion forum. Signatures are, indeed, broken in the sense that the links they contain aren't there anymore. As it is now, we don't know if the junior members here will have a problem with the airdrop. That's all speculation at this point. I know that the heads of DeepOnion will want to give junior members a solution about this. No one wants them to miss any airdrops.

I edited my original post to make it more clear as below:

EDIT:  A user in the DeepOnion.org Community forum posted that he was a jr. member and had no signature. This situation needs to be cleared up.
You can see on the previous page of this thread (page 191) how a junior member's signature looks like now. Nothing else has changed, from what I can tell. There's just not any kind of link you can click on. I'm not sure how this will affect junior members as far as this airdrop is concerned.

Has everyone seen the new merit system on Bitcoin Talk? I'm having trouble figuring it out. I hope it doesn't affect the air drop crawler.

its like if DeepPoints made it too Bitcointalk.
you can send and receive Merit points now.. Not sure what the final purpose is.

I was thinking the same thing! Seems the owners of BCT have an interest in DeepOnion as well and saw something they could learn from it. Regardless Onion will stay one of a kind ☺️

It BCT applies the merit system and indeed they got the idea from DeepOnion.  This coin will go a long way Smiley.  Why? because the ideas/features being put into the DO website and coin itself is being copied. Smiley

Don`t forget update your signatures.
We have new Signatures Updated 17 Jan. 2018

You can find and copy signatures here:
https://deeponion.org/view_signatures.php

Is it necessary to update my signature to receive the airdrop ?
If I update my signature right now, will I be able to receive the next airdrop (considering I have done all my due diligence) ?
Will deepOnions change name one day ?
Lots of questions ^^sorry guys, I'm a noob... :/
Why would you want DeepOnion to change its name? DeepOnion got its name from The Onion Router, more known as Tor, which what DeepOnion uses to make its transactions anonymous. It's a good name, people just don't get it.

As for the airdrop, I hope you know that placing the signature is not the only rule to receive the airdrop. You can find a list of requirements here https://deeponion.org/airdrop.html

Well it seems quite interesting this new Merit system and I think that one of the reasons
which lead to creating this system is the load of new accounts, most likely duplicate accounts because of all the
new airdrops around requiring bitcointalk account and people trying to abuse it with more accounts. Tongue

I believe your signature needs to match your member status here at bitcointalk. I would also go to DeepOnion Community and click "Check Status" in the Airdrop Links dropdown menu just in case, so it will be updated.

😶😶😶😶😶
Great job ! im glad they finally do this. Becouse of the erc-20 token airdrop mania, came many new accounts. Many off them were/are bots.
ive seen someone had like 20 accounts. I still cant undertand what "merit" exactly means.
there is a page about it https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0
Bitcointalk needed some new rules and maybe this will bring some order in on this forum.

That's too bad for junior members. I'm not one myself as everyone can see but I think the bitcointalk mods or whoever thought of this system should have taken into account that this is practically a demotion, regardless of whether they get to keep their title.

justice can't be assessed only for the benefit of a particular group. these changes have solid motives.
I don't think many junior members will be in the mood to see the bigger picture when they can't participate in pretty basic signature bounties like the one held by DeepOnion. Just saying  Wink

What does this mean?  Something affecting the upcoming airdrop?  not sure what is going on.

Edit - I found it.  I think the signature thing is outdated.  Just divide evenly to all onion holders if it's possible.

You need both to rank up, so no need to send merit but it really sucks that i now need 90 merit to rank up to Full member... if they introduced it tomorrow I would be full member... so its really stupid

Just make informative posts and you'll be ok. Wink
can you explain me what is merit please, i don't get it, what they doing with that and how we earn it Huh
