Here in my area those you mentioned are still used in guessing their betting numbers either the olds and youngster. The numbers shows on their dreams, also they so called "analyze" the date and time of death anniversary of the family member who "died" and come up a betting number and will be used to stake, birth date of someone in family circle is used as well. Well, in some way those number shows, but i still think it is just pure luck.

About the city/place where the lottery takes, as long as there is no transparency of the method used and it's not public, the chance of it for being rigged is too high.

A lottery is a luck-based gambling game and that's really what you're going to need to win there. I think the people in your country believes in such superstitious belief. Though there is nothing wrong with that given that there are various cultures in the world, but you have to understand that the lottery is specifically tied with the game of luck. You can even watch it live when the lottery/sweepstakes office gets a number from this machine which is purely random, I believe.

Like what some have mentioned, there are people who choose their numbers depending on several factors. For example, my father chooses dates of all our birthdays as his number on the lottery. Again, everything is all about luck!

There will always belief about this one, it has been a trend since someone is winning and claiming that he dreamed about that numbers so probably many will also follow it. If you are going to place a bet in lottery most of the time its a combination of your favorite number and important dates to remember, if you are lucky enough then there’s a higher chance of winning but then again, this is not guaranteed so better not to expect that much.
