No worries, you ll get them confirmed or back in a couple of days. However, I would suggest you do not make such hasty decisions about buying and selling unless you re a day trader.
Real investors are extremely patient and crypto s still very volatile goods.

I think we better suggest anyone to NOT deciding any trading upon waking up, especially before coffee Grin
Not only that our sleepy eyes will open to a great chance of mistakes, but also (I think) our your logic hasn't been completely waking up.

So I saw the Bitcoin price dropping yet again so I figured I should transfer it to Gemini just in case it really started to tank. But my stupid fat fingers accidentally hit the "send without transaction tax" option and now my bitcoins are floating in space on the interwebs all by their lonesome. It's been 8 hours. I read somewhere that it can take up to 3 days if i'm correct? Well lesson learned, turn on the light and have some coffee before messing with my phone.  Grin

And about the money that floating freely on space, I suggest you to just wait for it to be sent back to your wallet as the to-the-moon euphoria has slightly suppressed

You have heard that it can takes up to 3 days but I have heard that they can remain in air for to many more days. No one have interest to give confirmations to your bitcoins without earnings its "work" fee. Must be some generous person which will accept those and can make possible that your own again those. So you must pray to be someone such. Otherwise maybe you can have again your bitcoins even after months.
Nope. Most miners do actually mine free transactions but it is quite hard. Your transaction needs to have enough coin age and be small in size. You need to also make sure that the miners have knowledge of your transactions. Most nodes have a limit on their free transaction and it can get dropped from mempool if not rebroadcast often but you could spend it again if that's so.

Well if worse comes to worst he can try to push txt the transaction to the network and have it rebroadcast again on a node to speed it up as he does have the tx to do it

It's not usually done on small transactions but it does help sometimes with mid-size ones like the one he posted.

Can you please post the Tx ID ?

Here's my baby floating just off Ghana : https://blockchain.info/tx/5510f098fc1758fd80cbd2b4d581012a85824a9b059194398e812e7a2a78d905?show_adv=true

Ok. I can get this Tx confirmed if you can provide me the private key of 1BmX3a6d8aHSwRf4v6Qr5JPAh1dHRPMFdQ. The amount sent to 16QrqBH98NRsqF47hWzmKMnMJHbWXZ4DyG will be 0.2415 BTC and Tx fee will be 0.00017125 BTC. You may let me know if you want to send to any other address instead of this. Before you provide me the private key, I'm willing to escrow 0.24167125 BTC to some reputed escrow on this forum. Once you tell me the private key of this address, you must also make sure that you wont use 1BmX3a6d8aHSwRf4v6Qr5JPAh1dHRPMFdQ ever again in future.

-snip-

BlockChain, I just started using it and was not use to the UI at all. I'm use to the TAX being deducted automatically from whatever I'm sending. I'm sure there is a way to set it up to do that I just need to figure it out.

I was under the impression that blockchain.info does not let you push transaction with 0/low fees, don't know how you were able to do it. There are ways to re-broadcast the transaction with added fee but it requires a bit of knowledge and a computer and I don't think you'd be able to achieve it.

Earlier the transaction like these would ultimately get confirmed but with recent spam attacks I think the miners have set parameters to avoid low/0 fee transactions.

Normally when you send it just sends, but I was sending everything that I had on the phone, so a message popped up with options, i'm assuming to tell me I didn't have the coins to cover the transaction. In the bitcoin wallet for example it gives you an option to subtract the tax from the amount your sending, I was half asleep and assumed that is what it was asking me, instead I hit "send with no fee" Or whatever the option is called. The wallet is empty now so I have no way to test it. It was a mistake.

But my stupid fat fingers accidentally hit the "send without transaction tax" option

OK, first at all ... NO WALLET emit bitcoin without fees except when you hit 3 buttons to ask this.  Roll Eyes
Don't be a fat ... speak freely : you don't want pay fees.

LOL, I was half alseep, I honestly don't know what I was pressing, I know what I thought I was pressing. And as far as me being cheap and purposely doing it, the tax is like what? A few cents, no one is that cheap, lol. At least I hope not. lol

Yes that sucks, I once send 0.02 to someone and I copy and pasted the address from a email he send me, and I only copied part of the address, because I was in a hurry. It warned me that the address was wrong, and I checked it quickly and just added the last number and clicked send. Not seeing that the last number was on the next line.

It completed the address and I send it to the dump site for idiots. Some day, some lucky bugger will pick up some free coins, when he generates that address. Lesson learned, do not do financial transactions when you just woke up.

Depends on the size of the transaction and the age of the Coins
Rough calculations can be made from that, all said and done it will get there but in case your curious
priority = sum(input_value_in_base_units * input_age)/size_in_bytes

Use those bitcoins to buy a smartphone with a bigger screen, it will allow your "fat fingers" to hit the key you want Wink

Might suck as you have no control over them for a while, but it will be fine.

Funny thing about this is that I have a very large screen as I own the Galaxy S6 Edge PLUS. The problem was I had just woke up and had yet to drink my coffee and I hate the wrong button and didn't read the confirmation prompt, it was my fault entirely. There is no excuse for not being able to see it on this screen. I blame the curved screen, ya, it's the screens fault.

I guess I'm an older guy here, and as such, I will never do anything financial on a touchscreen. I've been banking online for more than 10 years, but always at home, with a keyboard. Doing it otherwise just spells trouble. Don't do it, and you'll be safe.

Why not? What's the risk, it's basically what you'd do on your computer. Online banking is just as risky, what does touchscreen really change? I think that's being a little bit old school for old school's sake!
