2) MSI R9 380 GAMING 4G Radeon R9 380 Graphic Card?

Defend Bitcoin and its PoW: bitcoincleanup.com
Would anyone be so kind as to explain the difference between hash/s and sol/s?

From

https://forum.z.cash/t/difference-between-hashes-vs-solutions/2930

"Sol/s measures the rate at which Equihash solutions are found. Each one of those solutions is tested against the current target (after adding to the block header and hashing), in the same way that in Bitcoin each nonce variation is tested against the target. That is what we mean by Sol/s === H/s - they are measuring the same thing, and it is the same metric that everyone already uses for other PoW algorithms. Put another way, measuring Sol/s in Zcash is exactly the same as measuring TH/s in Bitcoin (ignoring the "T" scaling factor, which is merely a product of the relative speeds of the PoWs and the relative numbers of miners)"

i did read the config and tried to modify to make more instances for windows but it feels like the settings get ignored on my side. same speed result for one ore more instances <<

it seems that the problem of running multiple nvidias can be temporarily solved by running more instances of miners
(need to have more config files, where you will be starting a single card in each of the config files)

sometimes i'm shocked by reading all comments that sound like "i'm not gonna bother installing crappy linux" ..
"windows bins pls win binaries pls"
not to mention all the geniuses saying "my nvidia machine doesn't mine", while not spending 15 damn seconds to at least read the config file and leaving the "amd" config file.. you some kind of miners? hah  Cry

spend some time to learn new things if u wanna be in this game ffs..

Set one instance to only run amd cards, then another instance with only the nvida card.

ok lol i got my system with 1 1060 running just fine with win7. 15 sols

then i tried to get my main rig running, it has 3 390x's   1 r7 370 and 1 gtx 1070.

when i try to get all cards running, it finds 4 of my cards i am assuming those are my amd cards cause thats what i have set in the config, then i get an error stating

terminate called after throwing an instance of '       thatys exactly what it says
here is a pic showing whats going on https://i.imgur.com/AkLwh76.png

now when i change the config to nvidia it runs the 1070 perfectly at 22 sols no problem,

could this be some kind of conflict caused by having amd and nvidia mixed in the same rig? i am running 15.12 amd drivers is that the issue? i have no clue at this point lol thanks for any help in advance  Grin

Has anything ever worked well mixing AMD/nVidia in the same rig? Cause I would assume not.

btw the nice hash miner is supposedly getting 40 sols using just a onld I7 in their latest build,

if this holds up all this work on gpus is kinda moot since cpu-botnets will crush the hash rate on launch

gpus need to get at least 25% more of cpu hash rate due to the power the consume not the current half

Yea I was thinking the same thing, it will be abused by botnets. But even if gpu mining get's a higher rate this will still happen.

yeah that goes for all coins but what happens is the GPU speeds are so much higer than the cpu speeds that the botnets become insignificant and no worth it

with this coin with gpu mining being so slow the botnets will be super effective.  Bad thing too about botnets is they are notorious dumpers of coins so they tend to really crash prices

They are criminals with a hijacked network, so that's to be expected.

Hopefully the gpu mining catches up and passes cpu mining before the botnets take over.

I would be surprised if Zcash doesn't fork to larger memory hard requirement within a month of release making CPUs almost useless.

They have already discussed pushing into 512mb which would effectively kill CPU mining to get Botnets out.

Hmm, I just tested the nicehash version linked by supernova.cc and was averaging 13.764 sols w/ my i7 6700k clocked at 4.5Ghz, 10.65 at stock.

youre still using their old version
The have not released their new version which is more powerful and includes cuda support, it will be launched today or tomorrow I imagine

Well that is fantastic news. I'll watch their zcash forum thread. Thanks for the heads up! I'm really curious if someone will stumble upon what the Toomin bros are up to and open source it asap.

I am pretty sure that Nicehash did something with their old Nicehash Miner to prevent this ?
I dont remember what was done but i hope they do something to make it harder for botnets to use it.
