The PPS-Engine for NastyPool is now running. For the next week I will be monitoring the system close and maybe make modifications if needed. From the NastyPool miners page you can see which miners already using PPS. NASTY MINING is one of them. There is also a link there to view live PPS statistics.

As a small bonus I decide to donate 0.0001 BTC to every PPS round payout. This will make sure that PPS miners always get some payout even if the PPS-collective never solves a single P2Pool share during the round.

If you want to participate in PPS testing then you only need to add -PPS to the end of your username (your Bitcoin address). The web interface records your payout share per P2Pool block solved. You will receive the total pending PPS payouts as part of the donation distribution.

Any miner with 10MH/s or more should be able to earn Bitcoin on NastyPool-PPS. This is not new fact for PPS-systems. But it is new for P2Pool.

If all is well I expect to have a official NastyPool-PPS announcement next week. I prepare a separate web site to talk about what NastyPool-PPS is and how to use it and FAQ.

Thank you OgNasty for supporting the testing of NastyPool-PPS.

NastyPool-PPS beta testing is now live!

New to P2pool but was looking for a low latency server to give it a shot.  I pointed 775 GH to the nasty server and picked up a share on the site.  should I set worker difficulty in any different manner here?

Edit. Im going to give it 2.5TH try.  It should be on the pool now.

Nope, you shouldn't have to worry about setting the difficulty manually.  It is adjusted pool side unless you add a "+X" (with X being a number) at the end of your mining address to specify a difficulty level.

Your pool is very close to my facility.
 time=10.2 ms
 time=10.1 ms
 time=10.3 ms
 time=10.1 ms

Not bad.  Hopefully that's enough for you to hop in the pool.

Since we proxy connections to our P2Pool node I decide to add IPv6 support. This is a big feature because it allows IPv6 users to mine with P2Pool.

P2Pool does not support IPv6. Through NastyPool it does: nastyfans.org:9332

NastyPool now supports IPv6!

This looks like a fun community, but I am confused.

This post is inviting us to join your p2pool node, which doesn't need an account to join. That's easy enough. However, in order to check our stats we need an account. That's fine, but then I see the following in your policy:

Quote
  • a account is a member of and has membership in nastyfans if at least one seat is owned
  • non-member accounts are automatically closed after thirty days

Then I check your about nastyfans page and read the following:

Quote
How can I become a fanclub member?
You must own a membership seat in the fanclub. nastyfans has 25,000 membership seats. There are no more available but you can buy a membership seat from a existing member.

I guess this is just that the wording in the site is simply confusing matters but I just want to make sure that the accounts that are created for mining purposes won't go inactive simply because the owner may not own a membership seat (after all, there are no more available).

You only need to purchase a seat if you want to enjoy the additional bonuses (weekly distributions, voting rights, eventually better stats, & mining lottery).

If all you want is to view basic stats/graphs and mine with 0% fees, you do not even need an account at nastyfans.org.  All you have to do is find your BTC address in one of the below links.  Also, you could mine without an account and if in the future you decide you do want to claim your lottery tickets, you can by opening an account and registering your address.  You will then receive any lottery tickets that were earned prior to signing up.

How many user are mining or block found or any total hashing amount? Links?

It is a P2Pool node, so we are finding blocks on average about every 22 hours.  The size of the network is currently 955TH/s.

You can see links to our P2Pool node in the OP, or you can view the network here: http://p2pool.info

I have transferred ~$5,000 worth of NastyFans seats to a separate account and am donating the distributions from those seats to an address that has been setup for NastyPool.  The current plan is to have 50% of the BTC at that address distributed to the weekly NastyPool lottery winner on an ongoing basis as a way to provide greater than 100% mining payouts to our miners.  No word on when the mining lottery will begin, but you can earn tickets now by mining on nastyfans.org:9332 (nastyfans.org:3334 for NastyPoP payouts) and using your Bitcoin address as your username.

Pretty amazing P2Pool luck lately.  Check out the last 15 days.  http://p2pool.info

We also recently had this mining contest along with the first NastyPool lottery drawing.

One of the downsides of mining on p2pool nodes is that there is no easy interface to let you see your hashrate updating or confirming your submitted shares.  nonnakip has solved that problem with the new beta release of NastyFans' NastyPool node.  You now have the option to sign up for an account at nastyfans.org and use the new 'Mining' tab to see your statistics.  Much more is on the way, but integrating the pool with nastyfans.org is a HUGE first step.

If you sign in to nastyfans.org you will notice some changes. I grow menu items so that mobile devices should navigate easier. I also add basic integration of NastyPool. This is a new "mining" menu item. It shows the current NastyPool hashrate. If you are mining on NastyPool and register your address with nastyfans then it shows your hashrate also.

The NastyPool integration is very basic now. There are many features coming. But I decide to post new minor versions and release minor individual features. This way we can maybe shake out bugs as we go.

So, just out of curiosity, what's with the name? Nasty Pool? LOL, bitcoin mining pool wasn't my first thought when I saw that.

Nasty is a play on my real name.  It has become somewhat of a brand...  Check out the Nasty Mining thread to read about all things Nasty: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/nastyfans-the-bitcoin-enthusiast-fan-club-est-2012-86854

Looks promising, might give it a go.

Please do.  It is important that mining stay decentralized and recently large pools have once again become a large threat to the network.  See the below article if you don't understand what I mean.
