Surprised with the way in which Lahore Qalandars meekly surrendered yesterday. They failed in almost every department. Shaheen Shah Afridi conceded almost 12 runs per over while bowling, and Zaman Khan and Haris Rauf were equally expensive. Economical spells from David Wiese and Rashid Khan were not enough to contain Multan Sultans batsmen. Mohammad Rizwan got another good score yesterday, and he just confirmed his position as the top run-scorer in this season of the PSL (516 runs, at an average of 57.33).

While batting, Sheldon Cottrell ripped though Qalandars top order, and the top 3 batsmen (Mirza Baig, Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique) made a combined total of 14 runs. Their morale will be very low, and now they need to face the winner from the eliminator match between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United (tomorrow at Lahore).

In the past two matches Lahore Qalandars have played very bad. In the previous match while chasing 196 runs, it ended at 110 runs. In the playoff once again it failed against the easy target of 160 runs. From the very beginning wickets started to fall, but someone could've stood strong. In between it looked like Sam Billings making progress, but the same is stopped by the tremendous bowling of Ihsanullah. With one more opportunity left for the team to reach the finals, whether the table leader reaches the finals is unpredictable.

Lahore Qalandar did not bat well and they had no plan on how to chase this score. I did not understand the reason for Shaheen Shah Afridi to come into the power play. Lahore Qalandar needed a bit of consolidation at that time because they were losing quick wickets.

Also when everyone was saying that Multan made fewer runs and could lose this match, I was not confident and also showed my concern that I would like to see how the Lahore team start their innings. It was always going to be difficult to chase this score when you lose too many early wickets.
Anyways the good thing for Lahore Qalandars is that they are not eliminated yet and they still have one more chance/game to go to the finals.

Regarding the cricket match between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars it was indeed a one-sided affair as Multan Sultans dominated both with the bat and the ball. Lahore Qalandars faced difficulties in chasing down the target of 161 runs Multan's bowlers performed brilliantly and finally bowled out the opposition team for just 76 runs. Despite the result Lahore Qalandars still have a chance to bounce back and qualify for the finals. However they will need to put in a much better performance to do so. As for Multan Sultans their performance in the qualifiers has been phenomenal and they have deservedly earned their place in the finals. It was a thrilling match for cricket fans, and we can only hope that the upcoming matches will be equally thrilling.


It is always difficult for a team to perform poorly when it matters most especially after playing well throughout the tournament. However it is important to remember that cricket is a game of uncertainty, and anything can happen on any given day. Multan Sultans seem to have performed exceptionally well with their bowling and fielding, which would have definitely contributed to their win. Winning matches often comes down to executing the basics well and minimizing mistakes, and Multan Sultans seem to have done just that. Of course Lahore Qalandars will be disappointed with their performance in the qualifying match but it is important for them to learn from their mistakes and come back stronger in the next tournament. Sometimes failure can be a valuable learning experience that can help the team grow and improve in the long run.

Disappointing and embarrassing defeat for Lahore Qalandars after playing phenomenal throughout pal, today in qualifying match they totally lost it with their batting.
Multan Sultans bowled and fielded excellently not a single mistake from their part that's why they made it to the finals.

Discrimination Qualifier Match

At first Multan Sultan's batting looked like Multan Sultan might lose this match but the result of the match turned out to be completely opposite. Today I could not stand the Lahore Qalanda in front of Multan Sultan. Lahore Qalandar went down to bat with a target of 161 runs and fell into a complete batting disaster. They were bowled out for just 76 runs and were defeated by Multan Sultans in the qualifiers by a huge margin of 84 runs. But there is another opportunity for Lahore Qalandar, if they can take advantage of that opportunity they may qualify for the finals. But today's match was not a competitive one but a discriminatory qualifier match. Still, best wishes from cricket fans to Multan Sultans for qualifying for the finals.

Tough time for lahore Qalandars their main batting order is out and they are still below 100 , without any second thought thus match is a win for Multan Sultans due to their brilliant balling and good batting.

In this difficult bowling support pitch Multan score enough runs with the help of power hitter K.Pollard who hit 6 sixes and also other batter help them too to build a target of 160/5. Now on the other side Lahore Qalanders are in really big big trouble because Thier opening pair did help them during chase and got dismissed too early one after another. Now Lahore has lose Thier 7th wickets by just scoring 49 runs 10th over. While required is too high, it's almost confirmed that Lahore gonna lose this match and will face the palyoff match winner in third playoff.

Due to Sheldon Cottrell Multan Sultans are now favorite for the finals. Lahore Qalandars are now in deep trouble as they have lost 6  batsmen and score is just 43 in 10 overs. Multan Sultans target of 160 was looking very easy to chase but Lahore pitch proved to be quite opposite to that of Pindi. Kieron Pollard was top scorer from Multan side as he scored 57 runs on 34 balls.

Multan Sultan managed to score only 160 runs in Lahore Qalandar's controlled bowling. But in the beginning it seemed that the run might cross 180. But Rashid Khan and David Wiese bowled a lot of economy in the middle which meant that none of the Multan Sultans batsmen could open their hands like that. 161 runs is the target for Lahore Qalandar. I think if they can score well in the first six overs then they can have a chance to win this match. Because the first six overs are very important in T20 cricket. Because only two players can be outside the circle in these six overs, which leaves the field almost empty, the batsmen can use this opportunity to play fearless cricket for the first six overs. So far it is not clear which team will win today. We must wait till the end to know the result of the match.

Lahore Qalandar has excellent bowling skills and they prove it today. I am surprised that Multan sultan lost only 3 wickets till now but still they made so low scores. All of their bowlers are superb including Shaheen Shah Afridi,  Rashid Khan and Haris Rauf.

Incipite of the low score by the Multan Sultan, I would still not call that Lahore would win this match. I would see how Lahore Qalandar bat for the first 5 overs of their innings and then predict who is going to win this match.

Multan Sultan are not able to collect many runs as Lahore Qalandars players are bowling very well. They will not be able to give a target above 150 runs. If Multan Sultan cannot bowl well later on.  And could not stop Lahore Qalandars from scoring big runs like 4, 6. Then the chances of Multan Sultan losing will increase a lot. I think Multan Sultan are under a lot of pressure in this match.  And they are afraid of losing and in my prediction I think Multan Sultan will lose this match

Lahore Qalandars have done a good job so far as Multan Sultan have scored 81 runs in 12 overs. Rizwan s still there on crease and he has scored 32 runs on 27 balls which is not a big issue for Lahore Qalandars. With this run rate Multan Sultans will be able to give a target of 150-160 and this target wont be very difficult to chase. Lahore Qalandars must get rid of Kieron Pollard quickly otherwise things may get out of control.

After winning the toss against Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans captain Md Rizwan opted to bat first. Batting first, after 9 overs, 59 runs for 1 wicket have been accumulated on the scoreboard. I think today's match will also be a high scoring match. However, Lahore Qalandars record against Multan Sultans is very good. Because in this event they played two more matches against Multan Sultan where Multan Sultan was defeated by them. But Multan Sultan may be today leaving all the statistics of the past and entering the field to start anew. I think the decision to win the toss and bat was excellent. Because playing a new pitch with a new ball gives a different advantage for batting, maybe Md. Rezwan decided to bat first to use that advantage.

Multan Sultans are likely to be defeated by today's qualifiers Lahore Qalandar as they have already bowled more than seven overs but their score is just 50 runs. Multan Sultans have already lost the wicket of Osman Khan. No matter how well Multan Sultan plays in today's match if they can't give a target above 180 runs then it will be difficult for Multan Sultan to win the match.

Lahore Qalandars are good at both bowling and batting and  Multan Sultans is specially batting. Rilee Rossouw, Kieron Pollard, Tim David are the famous T20 world batsmen included in  Multan Sultans. So I still can't say anything specifically. However, the whole time of this tournament Lahore Qalandars was ahead from all sides, so I will support Lahore Qalandars. But what happens in T20 is difficult to say and no one can predict.

Tonight according to Pakistan time 7:00pm first playoff match between Lahore Qalanders and Multan sultan will be held in home town of Qalanders name Gaddafi Stadium, it's true that pindi stadium fully support batter as compared to bowler because due lack of grass on pitch bowler can't get help from pitch to swing but now it's totally a different pitch, Lahore bowler especially Shaheen and Rashid will be on fire. Both team has potential squad but Lahore has little edge in bowling but anyway it's depends on current day performance too so let see who move to next stage..

Really the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has produced some great talent over the years including the players you mentioned. It is always exciting to see young players emerging and showcasing their talent on the big stage. The outcome of the upcoming match between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans is difficult to predict as both the teams have shown good form throughout the tournament. Lahore Qalandars have a strong bowling line up while Multan Sultans have some explosive batsmen. It will be interesting to see which team performs better under pressure and comes out on top in the playoffs.

Both teams will want to secure their place in the Qualifier match as well. Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans will enter the field with full strength. Both of the team performed well in previous matches where Lahore Qalandars topped the points table and second place was Multan Sultans. Lahore Qalandars have more bowling skills than batting. Multan Sultans on the other hand have almost all prominent batsmen. But those who are good in field performance are the best in all aspects.

I agree. Qalandars are much better than Multan, as far as bowling is concerned. The problem is that their bowlers are not very inexperienced. I am talking about Izharulhaq Naveed, Abbas Afridi, Ihsanullah and Usama Mir. On the other hand, Qalandars have some of the most experienced players in their lineup, including Haris Rauf, David Wiese and Rashid Khan. Each of these players have at least a decade of experience with top level cricket. And in franchise league cricket, experience matters a lot, especially under pressure situations.
