Thanks for the help.

I was running the older PandaBank version you referenced (MAC OSX High Sierra 10.13.2).  I backed up my wallet files and erased the contents of the folder, downloaded the latest version of PandaBank from the link you provided, under the mac area, unzipped the .tar, moved pandacoin-qt to my Applications folder and opened it, and it won't open successfully.  It says...

"pandacoin-qt cannot be opened because of a problem.  Check with the developer to make sure pandacoin-qt works with this version of macOS.  You may need to reinstall the application.  Be sure to install any available updates for the application and macOS.  Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."

What version of PandaBank were you running?  Your Pandacoins should be safe on the blockchain but you need to have your Private key safe to prove they are yours, the easiest and best way to protect your private key is to have a copy of your wallet.dat in a safe place. Start by backing up your wallet.dat, are you familiar with where your Pandacoin Data folder is?  On mac your Pandacoin data folder is in ~/Library/Application\ Support/Pandacoin. It is a good idea to always have a backup of your wallet, especially if you encounter a problem. The older version of PandaBank 3.0.2 can have difficulty with it's default hybrid mode which will probably require you to reset your blockchain and resync.  

You can do this after you have backed up your wallet.dat to be safe,  then delete all the files/sub folder in your Pandacoin data folder except wallet.dat and peers.dat and Pandacoin.conf if you have it.  You may just have trouble with finding nodes to connect too, having valid nodes in a Pandacoin.conf can help but the latest PandaBank v3.0.5.6 has built in valid nodes so a Pandacoin.conf is not required. When you restart PandaBank it will recreate the deleted files it needs and start to sync again.  If you are in Hybrid mode, it is recommended you switch to classic mode right away.  It would be helpful to have some feedback on our recent updated PandaBank for mac, please consider trying this procedure with our latest PandaBank QT 3.0.5.6 standalone for MacOS. You can download the latest here http://cryptodepot.org/downloads/    Use right click then open so you can allow it to run.

For new wallet, I highly suggest downloading and using the wallet+chain-snapshot in the first post of the thread.

To solve the peer problems, you will need to go into C:\Users\*YOUR_USERNAME*\AppData\Roaming\Pandacoin , open Pandacoin.conf with notepad and replace the text inside with the following.

Hi everyone.  I'm new to PND.  I bought some PND tonight on YoBit.net and I downloaded the PandaBank for MacOS.  Problem is, when I went to deposit my PND, it still has not shown up.  I need some help troubleshooting this.

The first problem is probably that the bottom left of my PandaBank still shows "Searching for Peers".  Can you guys help me get this thing to work and help me verify that I haven't lost my PND?  I think I'm running in Hybrid client mode, but my only evidence of that is that when I click "Classic" or "Lite" I get a confirmation Y/N whether I want to switch, but when I click on "Hybrid" I get no confirmation window and nothing appears to change.

Yes, Yobit and Cryptopia are the two best places to pickup some Pandacoins (PND).

It can also be found on Novaexchange but Novaexchange is changing ownership next year and no longer accepting deposits of any coins. So you can now only trade within Nova or withdraw coins back to your personal wallet or move them to other exchanges.

You can also trade Pandacoin on BX exchange if you have a Thai residency or Thai photo ID.

what currency will be accepted?

Although those charts look promising in USD value, I only care about BTC/LTC value.

Does Yobit have the real Pandacoin? I'm holding some of it on that exchange.
Btw, I don't see anything happening on https://bx.in.th/BTC/PND/ like you said. Or are you looking at a USD pair?

I am using windows, but after downloading the latest version it started syncing automatically. No need to add nodes or anything. I also downloaded the snapshot so maybe that did it?

I haven't logged into my pandabank in ages, but would like to fire it up again this week.  Can someone help me get started? 

I can launch the bank (gosh, what an amazing wallet, I think the Panda wallet was ahead of it's time for a while anyway).  I don't see any activity that it is active or staking. The last stakes were back in 9/2016. 

I see from the past few messages that there are these 'nodes' to add, but not sure where to add these on a mac?  Will my getting the panda wallet back up and running help the network to grow once again? I love this coin, it would be so great to see if we can bring it back to life again.

Your PandaCoin Private Key is a unique secret number that only you know. It can be encoded in a number of different formats. Below we show the PandaCoin Address and Public Key that corresponds to your Private Key as well as your Private Key in the most popular encoding formats (WIF, WIFC, HEX, B64, MINI). So by entering your private key above you see the various formats below, for importing you want WIF (51 characters base58, starts with a '7' ).  You can download a local copy of the paper wallet generator and run it offline, if you have security concerns using the online version.

PandaCoin stores public keys in compressed format. The client now also supports import and export of private keys with importprivkey/dumpprivkey. The format of the exported private key is determined by whether the address was generated in an old or new wallet.

I really didn´t expect this coin to get back on its feet like this.

I had more than four millions PND in my wallet, but some time ago I gave up hope and uninstalled the wallet. Bad move, obviously. Lesson learnt.


I have some hopes to get it back, but I´m not fully sure how or whether it´s possible at all. Can you guys help me out?


I don´t have my wallet.dat anymore, but I did keep two keys. I have the wallet key (which I entered in https://chainz.cryptoid.info/pnd/ and it did find my wallet, with its content still intact). I also have what I think is the private key, a much longer string of characters.

And that´s all. So far I´ve installed the last version of the Pandabank, synced the blockchain, and tried something I read about going into Help > Debug mode > Console tab, and then writing importprivkey herecomesthekey [labelforthekey]. I only get error messages, though.

When I enter the wallet key, I get Invalid private key (Code -5).
When I enter the long key which I think is the private key, I get importprivkey [label]
Adds a private key (as returned by dumpprivkey) to your wallet. (code -1). Looks like it doesn´t even recognice it as a valid key?

Am I supposed to combine both keys in some way?
Am I missing some other key or some step?
Is there any way to rebuild the wallet.dat?

Is it all gone for good?

I´d like to offer half a million PND as a reward for the first one who can get me a working solution.

I have never had trouble with yobit and they have always kept Pandacoin running fine, I have heard some coins have had trouble there though.

It's like that for ages now on the exchanges. But that's normal for a coin that was already dead. If the devs get going this could change however.
