Many good ideas are still being discussed, everyone's feedback is important.  Keep an eye out for new vote pages to help refine our priorities and evolve our Pandacoin project with a combination of our brainstorming and your voting. Please continue helping by mentioning the ideas you would like us to create vote pages for.  See a list of our test vote pages here http://cryptodepot.org/voting-booth/

Some of our latest efforts include the development and preliminary testing of a Virtual PandaBank solution.  This is a combination of a Virtual Private Server with the latest PandaBank that can Stake mine 24/7 if you want.  You can easily control it remotely from almost any device and even share it simultaneously with someone else so you can work together, or share it to others in a view only mode to demonstrate. It has an easy to use graphical user interface and helpful tools are included like File manager, Task manager and Firefox web browser, ...

PandaBank 2.5% Annual Interest Staking

The simplest way to understand “staking” is interest provided to your Pandacoins stored in the PandaBank, like interest would be applied to your bank account. If you are staking, you will earn 2.5% interest on all of the coins which which you are staking. So, if you have 100 coins, you will earn approximately 2.5 Pandacoins every year. This will wind up being slightly more due to compound interest, but you get the idea. Beyond providing interest, it also helps to secure the Pandacoin network, by using a small percentage of your computer’s processing power in order to make transactions. The amount of processing power used is minimal, such that it would be completely unnoticeable, however every little bit helps to make the network strong and secure.

If your PandaBank is closed, or offline, you cannot stake. In order to stake your computer must be on, your PandaBank must be open, and unlocked for interest staking, and it must have some amount of Pandacoins inside. Essentially, in return for the small amount of processing power you’re donating to the Pandacoin network, the network pays you in interest! It is important to remember that it takes 3 days after receiving coins for those coins to begin to stake. If you have Pandacoins, staking is an excellent way to strengthen the Pandacoin network. Do your part, and stake with your Pandacoins today!

Hi I just bought a few Pandacoins myself.

I'm now staking them to my PandaBank.

However, I don't know if I'm doing it right...

I just placed them in my PandaBank and that's it? Do I have to do more?

How can I mine this? I would like to mine some Pandacoins.

Do you have tutorial for this?

Thanks dev team!

I'm hoping for Pandacoin to succeed.

Your wallet needs to be unlocked to be staking

Hi i8,

Thanks for pointing this out. I leaved my pandabank open without noticing the lock/unlock button on the upper right corner.

But I have some questions.

It's quite confusing... as you can see, in the image here. The icon on the button says "lock" but when I hovered on to it, it says, "Wallet is encrypted and currently unlocked click to lock."

So does that mean that it really is unlocked? Is this the mode where I do start on staking already?

And when I clicked on it, the icon becomes "unlocked" however when I hover on it, it now says, "Wallet is encrypted and currently locked click to unlock."

So does that mean that it really is locked?

Sorry, for the noob question, because it's really confusing to me...

Thanks again for the answers Panda community!
Hey buddy, thanks for your interest in PND! In general terms, your wallet needs to be unlocked for staking (interest generating). You could lock it in general and unlock it when you are going to stake but that's a long topic to discuss. Keeping it unlocked for staking does provide less security, which is true for any coin, not just PND.

So to stake, you will want it to reflect "Wallet is encrypted and currently unlocked click to lock".

When that is the option you have enabled, the reason the icon states "Lock" and shows the locked icon is that if you click on it, you are directing it to now lock. Not that it is currently locked. If you are unsure, go by what pops up when you are hovering over the icon in the corner of the screen.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have, do not hesitate!

Hey, and Welcome!

Pandacoin, being proof of stake, can't be mined with CPU/GPU/ASIC or other. New coins are added to the total through staking. Its' really easy on your resources (and environment friendly) while encouraging keeping your coins.

We had a multipool at some point, which mined other coins and sold them for Pandas, and that was one way to "mine" Pandacoin indirectly. I'm not sure it's still active, tho.
It be nice to have it again.

Thanks mtrycz for welcoming me!

Yes, I think it would be great if there will be a multipool again. Let's make Pandacoin great again!

Staking is great in every aspect.
You basically gain interest just doing nothing, securing the network. No need to spend lots of money on electricity. It's so lightweight compared to Proof of Work.

Also, the one minute block time is very convenient.

I want to speculate this coin for 2-3 years.

Best method for speculation?
1)paper wallet at walletgenerator.net?
2)desktop wallet with backup?
3)different exchanges?
4...?

A Pandacoin paper wallet that is created carefully is very safe. They are easy to redeem too, not only can you import them into a PandaBank for stakeminging taking full advantage of coin age (for up to 30 days worth) you can quickly load a Digital Pandacoin electrum wallet and sweep a paper wallet very efficiently anytime. My recommendation is to get a real PandaBank or older Pandacoin QT even and stake mine, this is also quite safe (always have a off pc backup) and helps secure the Pandacoin network as well as paying out the best interest if you run it often enough. your Pandacoin are like mining rigs the more you have stake mining the more rewards you receive. I also keep a little at exchanges on occasion but have lost Pandacoin in the past this way so use some caution. Electrum wallets are light weight yet powerful wallets but they cannot stake mine. Also our Android wallet with built in qr code reader is handy but does not permit stake mining.

Thank you so much. very helpful.
