For all we know, you can compile the binaries with the virus in them then put those up for download, so it doesn't show up in the source but it's in the binaries.

Crap thats whats going on I thought there was an issue with my rig.. Holy crap had the same thing happen to me, issues are now gone and I moved to mining another coin... Something smells bad about this coin and all the drama

Apparently the GPU thing is a well known issue dude, it's not unrealistic at all. Search it up.
