It’s not as if this is a secret between their inner circles. It’s obvious enough that some rich people will be holding bitcoin, just not being open about it due to reasons concerning their security and of course, toppling the markets in one fell sweep because of their influence alone. The mere fact that a CEO of a huge enterprise such as PayPal is into bitcoin and has his own stash of it tells you something about the movement of some of the wealthiest dudes in the scene right now.

Firstly, let's get this clear. A CEO does not have all-encompassing power over a company, even though they might have a lot of power over the company, they still have a board of directors and a lot of other people they have to report to, and oftentimes, a chairman has more power.

Just because the PayPal CEO is a fan of Bitcoin, doesn't mean that PayPal is, it's fairly clear to us that his company isn't interested in dealing with crypto customers or even making their own service, and that's their choice, even if it is a saddening one.

This is in contrast of former PayPal CEO Bill Harris statement, Bitcoin is ‘useless as a payment mechanism and ridiculous as a store of value,’ ex-PayPal CEO says.

So it's good that Paypal's CEO of today really "believed" in BTC, so we don't know maybe we can see Paypal readily accepts it as payment options in the future. Maybe this was a sign, of pitching bitcoin specially that the CEO itself knows that bitcoin is the future.

Not only paypal CEO holding bitcoin. Many rich and technology lover holding bitcoin but they don't reveal that or they don't talk about bitcoin.
I have a Paypal account until now, but I only use it like few times a year since entering into the world of cryptocurrencies. Paypal was the payment processor I trusted during my early years as a virtual assistant. However, their fees are eating our funds apart. This is why Bitcoin is such a great alternative, and no doubt Dan Schulman's already convinced about owning some Bitcoin in the first place.
There are many problem in paypal. Even paypal is restricted many countries.Fee is high, suddenly they locked the fund.but bitcoin is easy to use.all over the world bitcoin can be used.no restriction.no one control the btc.only holder can control. That's why I don’t use paypal now Cheesy
PayPal is still the best payment system worldwide. We cant rely on BTC for payments, as there are not many who are accepting BTC as payment.
There is no comparison of BTC n PayPal, in BTC there is no delay in payment and no middleman asking for his share. BTC in many was is threat to PayPal.

PayPal CEO Dan Schulman, in describing why the payment company decided to withdraw from Libra, also revealed that he is a hodlr of cryptocurrency, but only Bitcoin.

Interviewed by Fortune magazine, he answered the question if he personally owned any cryptocurrency:

“Yes. Bitcoin.”

Okay now this seems to be pretty interesting to me. Since he's a Bitcoin HODLer, I don't know if this is a sign that he could add BTC as one of features for Paypal. If that happens, I don't know what would that be. Probably might integrate Bitcoin as one of the payment options aside from Visa, Mastercard and AMEX?

it's more like the good news of holding bitcoin, so there are still many founders and CEOs who believe in bitcoin even though the price is currently falling and not passionate, I think it might be better if the paypal site has a button to buy bitcoin using paypal

I no longer use paypal since bitcoin existed because I used to make money on the internet very difficult with USD payments on paypal, let alone having to connect with a credit card, that's what I didn't like from then therefore I switched to bitcoin, but good if paypal's CEO holds bitcoin

bitcoin seems to be very popular with big people, even the CEO of PayPal. in fact, I think that people like them, even those who oppose bitcoin have some bitcoin in their wallets. I'm sure, people with very broad minds like them think of various developments that can start on bitcoin. so, I think they will have it because they feel that bitcoin will be a coin that has a high price and amazing functions in the future.
it's a very interesting article and statement that I read this month.

People should not assume that if a CEO of a company invests in a specific commodity or currency, that he/she will automatically push for that technology to be implemented in the company. The CEO is doing this in his personal capacity and with his own money.

He might have done this to get first hand experience of his competition for "research" purposes.  Roll Eyes

The shareholders and board members make most of the decisions in a company and the CEO is just the rubber stamp of approval. It does carry some leverage if your CEO is Bitcoin friendly.  Wink

Bitcoin is free for all and the influence of a CEO of a big company has invested in it, will benefit btc in advertising. This shows how bitcoin became popular despite pessimism in this bear market it has been recognize as an viable investment. New technologies replaces the old maybe we could see paypal accept bitcoin as another payment processor.

Don't count on that, my friend. I  think it is quite clear that PayPal CEO Dan Schulman holding in Bitcoin is done personally and not in any way connected with his position in PayPal. Had it been PayPal itself also holding Bitcoin then it can be a different story. Remember that with many big companies, CEOs come and go and certainly Dan is thinking about his future and not of PayPal. Still, am hoping that one day PayPal will decide that their users can buy Bitcoin and cryptocurrency directly using their payment platform - and that can be a good start.

He is holding it for profit, not for anything else he stated

. I doubt if he will integrate it into their system, he did not have high regard for other Cryptocurrency, but there's a possibility that this guy might create a cryptocurrency for his company because nobody wants to be left behind.
When big companies are doing it, you cannot ignore it and become disinterested.

Not a big gan paypalmbut this is good media attention. There are so many average Joe's out there refusing to use btc but using  PayPal. These news hopefully will trigger a reality check on them. If they don't realize that they  are missing the opportunity of the century, they won't be buying.

It's quite interesting if it will happen but the possibility is very low that PayPal will add bitcoin as payment option. Knowing that the PayPal CEO owns a crypto currency even if it is a bitcoin only is a big plus to crypto society as PayPal plays a big role also in an online payment system.

I am not sure also about the term HODLr and how much he owns, so we can determine also if he plays a big role in every price movement especially if he is one of the big whales out there.
