As long as you have a few GB of storage left somewhere you can still run a pruned node and tell Core on which partition to store block data. You can specify storage folders with -blocksdir= or -datadir= startup directives. Similar options exist to put them into the bitcoin.conf configuration file.

Hey friends

I want to run a node on my pc and this is my first time experience and I did not run any node in past and but I like to join this challenge

Can someone guide me can my pc run this mode or not?

I mentioned my pc specifications which you can see in image below

Can this pc runs this node?

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/01/25/kN3lf.jpeg

According to the system requirements information on the Bitcoin Core website[1], you can run on a PC with these specifications.

You can install Bitcoin Core, but make sure your disk storage is still large enough for it. Until now, the total Bitcoin Blockchain Size is around 543GB[2], to be safer if you want to download the entire blockchain data and store it on a local disk, you have to prepare 600GB of storage. If you have less unused storage, I at least recommend using the prune option.

Unfortunately I can't run this node because of low disk storage my total pc storage is 521 GB and this storage split into 3 local disk like C, D and E and two local disk have 200 GB each and one remaining Local disk has 100 GB in one of these local disks have also contain window files and if I emerge two local disk like 200 + 200 then total 400 GB but unfortunately this was also not fully requirement to runs this node any other option?

Day 7

Progress: 75.41% sync
Good progress, brother... it looks like your Bitcoin Core will be fully synchronized on day 10 or before... if you consistently run Bitcoin Core like the previous days.

Thanks, from a world view what you say is certainly a good point and you have given a nice idea. (Raspberry Pi 4B) It is definitely available and given below good work. It can be used comfortably. Although it is very easily available, many people don't have it. It is the most pleasant system, the memory can be used as desired.

You can run a pruned node that requires less storage, that's one option. If possible in your region, you could buy a used business class laptop[1], which are not expensive, you don't need the newest shit gear to run a node. Run some Linux on it and again a pruned node or upgrade the SSD to a 1TB model for an unpruned node, those aren't terribly expensive, even 2TB models are quite affordable (ok, it depends heavily on your overall income and I'm aware that not all parts of this world are equal; I'm speaking from a 1st world perspective).

That is correct. Anybody can still run a pruned node with as low as 550 megabytes (MB) of storage space - enough to keep the last 2 days of blocks at 1 block per 10 minutes on average.

You can run a node with a Raspberry Pi 4B or 5 (4GB RAM will do fine, 8GB RAM is preferable), no need for a Laptop and a copy of Windows. I have three nodes on such Raspi 4B devices, low power consumption and perfectly fine for a node.

[1] Usually those have easily accessible and replaceable memory and storage devices. I'm not speaking of Apple and other crap that's not build for easy repair and upgrade. Don't give your money to such companies!

Note that this challenge is still open for anybody who meets the requirements in the OP.
Well, It's great to open it up to all person. But even if it is open to all, not everyone can do it.  Not all laptops and PC's HD/SSD can do it because they don't have that enough capacity. It is generally seen that premium laptops/PCs with 512GB SSD & 8/16GB of RAM can easily run Windows 11.  Everything can be done well 512 & Win-11.  That's why many people can't do it despite having a fairly good quality laptop/PC.
I can see that, we are few person have 600GB download space on their device. If it was 400-500GB instead of 600GB then many people could do it.

94% there and it's obviously slower than what it used to be. I was averaging a 9-10% increase daily. In a maximum of 2 days, I should be completely done.
