OK it's done, if you are going to move BTC from Coinbase/GDAX take into accounts it could take between 3 to 6 hours.

This really sucks, I've just moved all my coins in GDAX to BTC to be able to deposit them in BitMex and start a leveraged position, but they are not moving my money and I will probably loose the chance !!
I won't trade anymore in crypto, everything is manipulated, even the times on the exchanges !!

Hoorayyyyyyyy. Its fixed. I have my coins. There are safe and in my cold waller. Again guys. Thank you for all yoir help!!!! Kiss Kiss
Glad to hear that you have your coins at last Smiley
Now make sure that you backup your seed in one or two safe places where only you or someone you trust can find it. Don't take a photo of your seed despite of it seems a really easy method, if you have a virus or malware (on your phone, on your PC, anywhere) they can take your coins with those words on the photo. Use the oldschool method, paper and pen Smiley
And, have a nice day, you deserved it Smiley

So I got a response today from coinbase after creating a twitter, getting some followers then sending updates twice a day @ coinbase support. They have said that there was some kind of network issue on the 15th that they are now aware of. They are looking into is and will keep me updated  and sent me €10 worth of BTC to make up for it.

Thanks all for your tips. Im calmer now. Willing to play the waiting game as long as I get them back eventually. Im requesting support daily now and joined twitter to @ coinbase and # coinbase and everything coinbase. Lol. I went on that reddit link and one member said it took him 3 months to get his transaction back!! Ridiculous. But glad to know he got it.  Will keep you all posted just in case other people are having the same issue and want to know what happens.

OK I want to cry right now. I am a newbie. Purchased a bit of bitcoin on coinbase on the 15th and that was fine it got confirmed quickly . Then I tried to send it to my hardware wallet and the transaction has been pending since then! Ive just read through some posts and some people are saying that they have had a transaction pending for a while but they had given up and considered their bitcoin lost?? I have contacted coinbase support several times wih no response.   I sat at work today and could not even concentrate. Yes I understood the risks that the price of a bitcoin could decrease but to have my whole bitcoin disappear was not expected! What can I do to fix this - Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Don't panic. Panicking doesn't really help.

Create a new support ticket if they aren't responding to the old ones and keep attempting. Comment on their twitter statuses or whatever and also their facebook, hopefully they are monitoring replies on there and don't want people to expose them.

Also a subreddit directed for coinbase users that may be of help: https://www.reddit.com/r/CoinBase/

Hey man, i'm sorry that your bitcoin pruchase went so badly. Your bitcoins have not disappeared, it's just that coinbase has not sent it on the network yet. If you search "coinbase transaction pending" then you'll find a lot of hits and people having the same issues as you.

All you have to do now is be patient and wait. Coinbase's support will get back to you, but the question is when.

Fortunately bitcoin is going up it seems compared to when you purchased the bitcoin, so at least it's some profit for you.

So if i understood correctly they haven't even broadcasted any transactions to your destination address onto the blockchain, right? The transaction is just pending and staying like that without any sort of TXID whatsoever.

If that is true then it's really common for coinbase, and it has a history of doing this. I've been effected by this multiple times although never as long as you have been waiting for.

Contact support as much as you can, hope they respond. But honestly their support is cancer.

WHAT HAPPENED IN THE END? DID THE TRANSACTION JUST GO BACK TO YOUR COINBASE WALLET.......................................................

"Contact support as much as you can, hope they respond. But honestly their support is cancer."

AND THANKS FOR THE ADVISE - JUST JOINED TWITTER TO CATCH THEM THERE - PEOPLE SEEM TO BE GETTING A QUICKER RESPONSE ON THERE

Eventually the pending just had a txid that pointed to the actual transaction.

So they didn't refund my coinbase wallet but rather there was just a delay between the time when i initiated the transaction and when the transaction actually got sent by them. I didn't email support or anything either.

Twitter is a good idea, wish you the best of luck.

I mean this really sucks. Coinbase does not have a good record of being a responsive exchange at all and i doubt that they are going to attend to your support ticket any time soon. But yes, reach out to them on social media or whatever, anything to get their attention onto your matter.

I would have never imagined that coinbase would be like this now, especially after the CEO said that changes will be made to improve support.

I think that eventually, you'll get your funds. Coinbase is licensed so they wouldn't just pull a runner.

Hey all, so I opened my nano and looked on both segwit and legacy options and the amount in question is not there. However the smaller amount that I sent from my Jazz wallet is in and now has 297 odd confirmations.  It has now been 9 days with no confirmation.  I have contacted coinbase's support team on at least 4 different times now with no response.  I do not have any social media but Im thinking now I may have to start a twitter just to @ them so they pay some attention.  I am trying not to panic, but hey, I AM!!!   Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Thank you all for your advise and please keep any suggestions coming as it is still not resolved.

Honestly 6 days is a long period for a pending transaction (the transaction was not processed yet because as you said, there is no transaction hash at the receiving address). Although it may happened, there must be a transaction hash on your Coinbase wallet even it was pending but unfortunately, none. And you are 100% sure that everything is correct.

Coinbase is the one who can help you here since it wasn't process yet at their side, no record at the blockchain yet. Fees is also not the issue as Coinbase is using above the average fees for every transaction. The best thing you can do is to send Coinbase tickets "everyday" so that it can always bumped. I said "everyday" because it's alarming and I understand your frustration.

Hope one of these days Coinbase will respond to you to see what errors happened during the transaction.

At Bittrex, if you start a withdrawal, the first status of the withdrawal is 'pending' and if you confirm at the link in the email message, it changes to 'Authorized' and a bit later it shows up in the blockchain and in the wallet with 0 confirmation first, and later on it gets confirmed.

Coinbase doesn't have a confirm withdrawal email.

Hi. So the wallet address starts with a 1. When I initially set the nano up it did as you said, ask me if it was for legacy or segwit, there was an option for 'I dont know' which I selected as I didnt know. Now each time I go in I select the same 'I dont know'. I cannot find an option on the nano wallet app to find the address that it gave me to send to, to cross reference it to the one I used on coinbase, I am quite sure I did this correctly though as I checkes it several times forwards and backwards and gor mybhusband to do the same. Last night I sent a very small amount on bitcoin I had on my Jaxx wallet to the nano and although not confirmed yet, I can see the pending amount on the nano whereas the amount  I am 'missing' only shows as pending on coinbase not on the nano.  I know alot of you are saying be patient, which I am happy to do, I just  want to know that I have not lost it. Time I can spare. £4.5k I cannot. Lol. Thank you all for your advise and please keep any suggestions coming as it is still not resolved.
The wallet address starting with 1 means it's a legacy address. Maybe it worths a try to select the Legacy option in bitcoin chain, but don't expect much, if your transaction from Jaxx has already showed up... At least, the Jaxx transaction will be confirmed sometime.
You should start asking for support at coinbase, it seems that the problem is at their side. I don't know
the system of coinbase but usually at exchanges, they're waiting for a confirmation before they send out the cryptos to external addresses, I don't know if coinbase works like this (if you have received (or not) this kind of email with confirmation link). At Bittrex, if you start a withdrawal, the first status of the withdrawal is 'pending' and if you confirm at the link in the email message, it changes to 'Authorized' and a bit later it shows up in the blockchain and in the wallet with 0 confirmation first, and later on it gets confirmed.

ok so a bit more info to help - I am in the uk.  The transaction has been pending for 6 days!  I transferred it to a nano s ledger so when i went on the ledger app to receive the funds it asked me how much I was expecting to receive and gave me a wallet address. I have read that the nano ledger gives you a new wallet address each time.  I also sent  a litecoin on the same day which is fine and in my wallet.  I have contacted coinbase support twice now but due to a backlog they have not responded yet so I thought I would try and solve it myself (you guys, lol).

I have checked blockchain.info using the wallet address and it states 0 bitcoins sent or received from this address

thanks for all your advise, I appreciate it and any future suggestions.

Be aware about Ledger Nano S, it uses legacy and segwit type of addresses parallel on the same device, so you can easily miss the proper wallet. Does your wallet address starts with 3 or 1? 3 is for Segwit type of address and 1 is the 'old' the legacy one. When you log into your Ledger Nano S at the first time you are prompted if you want to use bitcoin or bch, after if you choose bitcoin you are prompted again to select legacy or segwit address. They're totally different. If you have choosen e.g. segwit first, and you used that address to receive bitcoin and after you switched to litecoin and back again to bitcoin, maybe you missed the address type. There's a switch in the Ledger Chrome bitcoin app where you can change the blockchain (looks like a chain Smiley ) you can try that too to switch between legacy and segwit.
