Bitcoin and Ethereum for sure will be held in my wallet. I also sold a few of my altcoins which had a good rate of increase lately such as with few amount of meme tokens, slp, and the others. Was really happy that the market prices of those altcoins managed to have a good price recovery for a short period of time however, as we all know, nothing is too unrealistic to be having a consistent uprise movement, with large rate of increase, for a long period of time. There will always be a tendency for a sudden market crash especially for those tokens which are too volatile. Only major tokens are ones which can resist and slow down the decrease a bit, which makes them a safer coin to hold in my opinion.
A tip of advice via experience is that AltCoins ain't good to hold for long and may reach a total lost peak of you tends to hold til you reaches its ATH. So I chooses to sell once I'm comfortable with he profit it may offer in the main time. This not like the bitcoin that you can hold longer and so also the more profits it offers.
Indeed, what's important is to be aware of your risk appetite and to be realistic of things by means of learning from the past and what the chart says, basically. It is okay to desire big profit from your investment but never be too greedy to embrace that much of risk you are not even ready to take the consequences with. Manipulation of the big investors will be always a threat for you to watch out if you are after long term holding with altcoins. Enough warning for you to not be too confident just because a bullish pattern is observable.

Just with the coins I am holding, I am not yet satisfied with the profit generated and I also think these coins should be held for a long time. When I say long time I mean even after halving, I am still holding these coins. So right now there is no coin that I will be selling as of today only.

But I am interested in short term trading and I might also try to learn that to take advantage of many of the price changes that happen these days.
What are those coins you are holding anyway? Maybe they are not that good enough because I think a lot of good coins are now rising greatly and this may continue right after the halving so it's advised to continue hodling them for for a while.

There is still lots of unmined supply left in BTC so there will be more halvings to come. Are you sure you are going to HODL that long? Hehe. You are interested in short-term trading, so when did you plan on starting it? But it would be better to start it as soon as possible because your passion for it may dissolve later on, once your mind is occupied by any other things, especially if they really good.

Except bitcoin the next one is Ethereum and Solana coins that one can invest in it. Now that we are in the bull market many are selling and mostly those who started the investment in the year 2022. And Ethereum and Solana are  some of the altcoins you can invest for a long term and will make enough profit in them when the price rise again. And as I said before if you are investing in bitcoin now that the Market is on the high side, it is not advisable but you can buy if you are planning to sell them in the next bull market of 2029 or 2030.

If you are investing, invest in a project that you can make profit in the future. And not all altcoins have the potential in the future because most of them are self pump projects to deceive people. Self pumping projects in the sense that the developers are the ones invest enough money there for the time being and after that period they would take their monies back and the project would gone back to zero.

some people are still confident and holding onto their tokens for the bull run that will actually occur over the next few months.
but for those who have made a profit and they feel that taking profits is not a bad thing.
because storing it for too long and not enjoying the results is also not very good, unless we set a target for a coin when to buy and sell it.

I sold all the new altcoins I got from airdrops and bounties then I bought ETH and BNB because I don't think new altcoins are worth investing in long term. For me the only thing that can provide comfort without excessive panic is investing in BNB and ETH. and for me the only investment that can compete with the security of bitcoin investment is investing in ETH and BNB.

Selling or not, actually depends on what strategy you have. Personally, I haven't sold it yet, but maybe some people have taken advantage of the price increase, and are waiting for cheaper prices to increase their assets.
I think right now so many people are waiting for a rise after the halving. I had a bad experience regarding this. A few years ago, I owned ethereum, and sold before the halving happened. At that time, the price of ethereum was indeed rising, but after the halving, the price rose even higher, and I was quite sorry. So, I think there's no harm in holding back until after the halving happens.

Ask yourself these questions and compare the risk in altcoins investment with bitcoin investment, then analyse the risk and give yourself the right answer because to me, there is no coin in this cryptocurrencies space that deserves to be held like bitcoin. Other coins have a higher risk than bitcoin, so you can’t hold it for a long time like bitcoin.

I agree with you. I have my Fiat exit method where I will buy some altcoins in this bull season and then sell them when they get a good price. And I will buy BTC and hold it for a long time. I think it's altseason and it's a good time to coumpunding your money. I will keep holding BTC because I believe BTC will save my money from inflation.
usually a lot of people do exactly that investing in altcoin as a mean to easily multiple their money and we are talking about 5-10x multiply their initial capital and then compounding 50% of their profits into bitcoin, its like hitting two birds with one stone and I've done exactly this with of course some accumulation of ethereum or you can say it compounding since whenever i got profit i invested back to either ethereum or bitcoin anyway.
its really best way to go if you are expecting bullrun or at least patience enough to be waiting for bullrun. after all usually both prices of bitcoin and altcoin in general move with unison this but the thing is with altcoin sometime the price increase is massive i remember when bitcoin was pumping few days ago so many altcoin actually scored 100%-200% thats what im talking about risky investment but high return.
its definitely deserving of investment with the money we can afford to lose, those that put money they can't afford to lose well be prepared to regret it if things goes south.
always remember that with altcoin the risk is high.

There are many conversations that I jumped into this morning, and i see a lot of people talking about the price increment in cryptocurrency generally. Bitcoin's upward price movement had also affected altcoins to follow suit. However, i created this topic because i know there are lots of investors here i want to know if you are investing in altcoins. Which of the altcoins can you sell now to take advantage of those sweet gains, and which of them are you leaving for better future profits? I had the belief that there are altcoins that have so much potential, and selling them off now won't do any better since they deserve to be held for a long time, just like bitcoin.
Most altcoins are only good for short/mid time speculation and leaving early enough so you don't end up being a bag holder.  Once there was a time when altcoins were only good for getting more bitcoin, but now, i guess, they are good for getting some respectable altcoins as well, like ETH and... well, at least ETH.

But you shouldn't really bother yourself asking what others do. What do you want to do? There are some people selling them all the time, just like some are buying. In bull run there are just more buyers and holders. That's just how markets work.

And what you see and hear people speaking is just a tiny fraction of what they are actually speaking. And it's happening in your specific feed and specific bubble. That doesn't tell you about actual trends. That just tells you about your personal feed of information. Real trends you can follow by using services like google trends, dune.com and other data analysis services.

Most altcoins have the ability to move again, but taking profits now is a good idea so that you can acquire and trade additional coins when the project drops again.
There are some coins that still have a chance to pump; there is no need to sell now because we expect Bitcoin to be halved in a few months; if we continue to hold some coins, we can make more profit, whereas if we sell some of our coins now to take the small profit we have, we may regret it later if we see how the project progresses.

Selling altcoins during a bull run is advantageous as it yields substantial returns. Currently, it might be prudent to hold onto cryptocurrencies while anticipating the halving event, as historically, a bull run typically follows. Selling crypto now could mean missing out on potential profits during the bullish phase. Patience is crucial, and at this juncture, the best course of action may be to accumulate crypto with the potential to surge during a bull run.

Current prices are not satisfactory and based on the fact that the bull run is yet to come, we shouldn't be selling our assets this soon in my opinion. I know that Bitcoin has already touched $64k and we are still floating above $60k, but we are yet to witness the halving event and the actual bull run only starts after that based on how past cycles have been. So, I think we should still be holding on to our assets and wait for better prices.
That being said, I know a lot of people are selling their assets and taking profit because everyone has their personal financial goals and targets and when they are met, they tend to take profit regardless of the future opportunities that might come.

most altcoin prices had already increased and this is a good reason to just keep holding instead. but there are some tokens that i might sell early if i wanted to move to another because it's more aggressively pumping than this one. VET is taking so long to jump while SHIB can just take a few days to rise to 110%. it doesn't sound fair enough to just decide to look at it this way.

cardano also increased higher just yesterday too and it is a good indication that there are still big investors in this project.

There are a lot of people here who are invested in altcoins because it's the natural cycle mostly in the cryptocurrency market. I think with the recent rise in price has made crypto more exposed again and a lot of people are buying into it and more exposed with what the recent happenings are.

If you start to hear people who don't usually talk about crypto or non-tech-savvy people, it means it might be really mainstream. It could be an indicator, you know?

This month opens with good crypto prices including bitcoin, even though you asked about altcoins but you discussed bitcoin history, I also store bitcoin to accompany it to its gold Grin are you asking last month or this year full? I store ethreum L1 and L2, bnb, matic. although not much but enough for my supplies when urgent, or there are certain events.

Speaking of altcoins I store in usdt and will dca when there is a break between the coins, I think it is very practical and easy to use because almost all pairs use usd.

You should sell all if you are already decided to sell all your holdings because all will dump if the market is already in bear season. It’s better to purchase once the market already correct rather than taking profit from some of your altcoin and hold the rest for future value because they will surely dump too.

It’s either you will sell all or hold all because doing partial on altcoins might just bring you to breakeven once your remaining altcoin for holdings dump hard. Much better if you will hold Bitcoin long term than altcoin because there’s no altcoin that will grow continuously in the long run. They just keep repeating the cycle of pump and dump.

In the first place, bitcoin is not an altcoin. Alternative coin are use to describe coin other coins apart from Bitcoin. Secondly, I don't see any reason why one will sell is altcoin now when we are very close to the bullrun except if the person needs the money urgently. I'm keeping all my bags till the next bullrun. I pray for better profit for myself during this coming bull run.

Yes you are right about altcoin. Most of them already pumped and some of the holders will ended up booking profit by thinking it is the peak of the price. They will miss the biggest rally this time. So there is no points of selling your altcoin right now when you are very close to make lofe changing money from the market. Some says people will be able to make generation wealth in this run.

If you want to find out the reason why people are holding on, that is good so that you can learn.

I am holding my BTC because i have not accumulated enough and i cannot spare to lose any fraction right now because the market is not yet in a complete bull run. We all know how the bitcoin bull run is, and when it comes, i will know. My target is self-known, and if i have not reached my target of accumulation, i cannot sell. Maybe others have personal reasons, some may reason that the price has not reached there sales target, which is why they are not selling. But a wise investor would only sell if he had enough cryptocurrency in his portfolio, and he would only sell if he had enough bitcoin, leaving bitcoin behind for a better purpose.
