Please go and sign the petition. No matter what happens with Mt. Gox, I don't think it is appropriate for Karpeles to stay on the board, given his attempts to blame the problems of his exchange on the bitcoin protocol.

I'm not sure a petition will do much good.

The revolution will be monetized!
This thread cracks me up. Page 1 is about a petition to remove Mark. By page 7 people are calling for his execution.  Cheesy

Just saying, one killing saves many people a lot of money. Bitcoin companies will clean up their act for the next 5 years

Killing someone wont get you your money back. It usually guarantees the opposite.

But it assures others that force will be used if you think you can walk all over us.

Dread Pirate Roberts, is that you?  Grin

yes, its me.. I speak to you from behind the falls and barbed wire. I'm using an Iphone that I had smuggled in for my by one of the CO's. and it only cost me 0.659 BTC at the time..

I understand people being pissed off.  I agree that by all appearances Gox has really screwed the pooch on this one, and that Karpeles has further aggravated that by continually opening his yapper, but I can't agree that taking things to this sort of level is by any stretch the way to solve the problem or improve the situation, for Gox, it's customers, or for Bitcoin.

If that is people's opinion, I'm not going to tell them not to voice it, although I'd prefer to see the thread continue as a discussion point for this situation as it develops, and it is far from over.

Aside from all that I do think things are looking very bad for Gox right now and seem to be getting worse.  How they can survive this as a business I don't know.

If they survive its going to be due to all the cheap bitcoins Mark is buying now on his own exchange.

I think it may well be going on.  I think Gox needs to be shut down right now.  Frozen completely to preserve data and prevent further manipulation.

It has clearly spun out of control and anyone can see the motivations for those running Gox, if they are dirty, or if they already think they are past the point of no return, to be burning data at a furious pace right now, as well as buying up and transferring out any cheap bitcoins they can get their hands on.

on the other side of that equation are people selling their coins to convert them into cash, as cash will be easier to sue for than bitcoin, so, yes, I can see how that could well be going on right now, as we have sellers trying to get out of their positions and those inside Gox are the only ones with the ability to move coins out, so I'd agree that the situation seems to be ripe for it.

GREAT. headline: Bitcoin uses deadly force to anyone who double crosses them.

Do you want Bitcon to fail we are not all criminals.

lol, I agree, we can't just kill everybody who runs a shitty business. That would really tarnish bitcoins name.

I always found it shady why an exchange CEO would be on the board of the bitcoin foundation. He could easily provide insider information regarding the market. IMO, exchange staff should never be on the bitcoin foundation.

Yeah, that totally makes perfect sense as the CEO if an exchange would be privy to info that others are not privy to.
