I tried new PhoenixMiner 5.6a with the same settings from working 5.5c and I got this error:

https://ibb.co/jLcPZHw

"Video driver consistency error. Please go back to version 5.5c"

Driver version is 20.11.1

Does anyone have this issue?

on another question, why i can't use awesome miner with latest beta version?
edit: never mind the last question.

When you say "BETA" i hope you are using program download from PhoenixMiner post....because atm alot newbies accounts spam with "NEW BETA" what is virus!
thx for the care!
i am new, but not stupid! i know what you're talking about.

ok i've got another question: is it normal for the hashrate to go up like 8-7Mh for a couple of seconds then the miner stops and restart the mining at the same normal hashrate that it was mining?
cuz some times it just opens up another cmd and the windows and the driver will crash after a few seconds!

to be clear, i'm talking about 2 cmd running the miner at the same time!!

If you start 2 copy on same miner working on same cards its normal to crash...but if you have for example mix AMD/Nvidia and you use option for every miner to use only amd/nvidia they will work normal.
About hash to go up and down and miner restart....its depend from many factors. For example if you mine on multi coin pool like zerg pool and ETH algo your miner will get work for different dags so he will have up and down his MH. If you use Nicehash (not recommend) because your miners often change job from 1 order to another you "loss" time for your miner to generate dags and hash will go up/down all time special with option -gt 0 for auto tune. If you direct mine ETH on any ETH only pool you will have much more stable and constant hash rate....if you dual mine ETH+zill there will be from time to time change in hashrate when you go to mine zill from ETH. If your mem overheat hash will drop too.... Smiley

hey guys, thx for not helping me with my problem the last time. Cry
at least fill me in as to why my 4gb graphic cards get so much lower hashrate compared to about 3-2 weeks a go?

In the first post of this thread there is information about the DAG size and the decrease of hash rate for 4GB cards. Everyone is probably surprised that you're still trying to use 4GB cards. Although you may not want to hear it but the resolution to your problem is to upgrade to a card with a minimum of 6GB. As the DAG file increases each epoch, the hash rate is going to continue to decline.

Quote
After the epoch 374 the hashrate will drop dramatically (to just a few MH/s) because the DAG no longer fits in the card's VRAM and part of it is stored in the system memory.
thx, i already knew that, but i wasn't expecting a dramatic hashrate drop like that in 2 weeks! cuz after epoch 374 till 400, i didn't get any hashrate drop!! but in the last 2 or 3 weeks, if that's the reason then wooww!!

i have a couple of RX 470 4gb mining cards, so i figure they're not worth anything unless, mining ether or some other less profitable coins, so they're mining until they're not earning anything! btw i don't pay for electricity, so they're still profitable!! Grin
thx anyway.

at least feel me in as to why my 4gb graphic cards get so much lower hashrate compared to about 3-2 weeks a go?
i was getting like 22MH but right now it's about 16.7MH and i'm using the 5.6beta version with 21.3.1 driver.

for comparison i am getting about 18.5Mh with lolminer but it's not staying at that hashrate and goes down after 15-20 minutes to 14MH!!!
why is this happening?
anyone got an idea?
have to say, after last mistake had to change the windows.

Never mind. 5.6a does not support new AMD 21.4.1 drivers.

5.6a came out one day before the AMD 21.4.1 drivers were released, go figure.   21.3.2 runs well at least.    AMD must have done some serious work under the hood of the drivers between the 21.1.1 release and 21.4.1 since even 21.2.1 and 21.2.2 had some issues(but wouldn't stop Phoenix from working).

Fellow miners, seeking your help to understand some mysterious crashes.

I have 4 GPUs on Windows, all AMD (480, 580, 5600, 5700). Every now and then I observe a single "spike" in hashrate, then immediate crash. At some point, either 5600's or 5700's hashrate will be increased for a moment (around 10%, for example 5700 will jump from 59 to 63 mh/s), then miner freezes. This doesn't happen often, may be once a day...

Any idea why this happens? I use following settings:
5600: 693mv, 1050 mhz core, 1860 mhz mem
5700: 750mv, 1350 core, 1860 mem
lidag 3, temps are good - typically mem is 84 C maximum.

Thanks for your input.

My experience with this has been to add Core voltage or increase power limits in anticipation of the spike. It does mitigate it somewhat but crashing down the line is still an inevitability.  It may seem to be fine in the next 8-12 hours but probably won't get past 24 without crashing or a dramatic decrease in hashrate.

The best solution I've found, however, is to move to HiveOS, more stable, better temps, less rejects, and no problems even with spikes in hashrate.

In a world of coins, use them.
lol these 5.5d malware idiots are still spamming this version

Bruh after 3 years you still think its malware? You really need something better to do with your time.

for the past 6months this thread has been spammed with a 5.5d malware version which gets deleted many times a day.  Now that there is a 5.6a version released they havn't updated their malware and I thought it was funny.  Get some better reading comprehension and or context before you post.

Yes, but in that old post it seemed like you were talking about the official release being malware

I just updated to the new AMD drivers(21.4.1), and PhoenixMiner seems to be choking(similar to when 21.3.1 came out with 5.5c.   Radeon 6800 non-XT.   Moving back to 21.3.2 for now.

It's not supported.
Added support for AMD Windows drivers 21.3.2, and 21.3.1 are.

Just add -clKernel 0 any drivers will be fine.

Generally, it shouldn't be necessary to code for specific versions of drivers, unless there is a significant design change in the drivers.   So, it seems that 21.3.1 was a significant change compared to the previous drivers, and now, 21.4.1 is another significant change.

21.4.1 came out today, so I was checking if I was the only one who ran into problems with the new drivers, or if I needed to do a proper clean install.   At this point, nothing indicates that a clean install would fix the problem.
