When the original dev left this project it was Pikku who kept Piecoin alive. Thanks Pikku for the updates.

Nice to see you back Pikku. The reason I invested in Pie Coin a while back was because of you. Can't wait for the new wallets and masternodes.  Grin

I'm running piecoin.tech wallet so do i just transfer the wallet.dat file over to the new or transfer to exchange and back to the new wallet(piecoin.info)?
If you are running a piecoin.tech wallet and you have connections and you are synchronized with the blockchain there is no instant need to do anything for now.

But if you want to update your wallet (this has be to be done by many users in the future when new features are implemented) you just need to replace the wallet executable (don't know your system). If the executable has been replaced/updated it should be possible to read your current wallet.dat file. But please make sure that you do a BACKUP of your wallet.dat before doing the update.

I love PIECOIN because of the staking but I recently found something with better returns... Ember coin EMB has 720% annual staking rewards for another 2 years. It's on cryptopia. Site is embercoin.io

Hello everybody at this great Pie community,

after being absent for a while and read all the posts here, now I would like to tell you all what I found out:

There were problems with people getting connections with a fresh wallet a lot of times in the last two weeks. It seems that in most cases they got a connection eventually.
But having no connection for one or two days is really painful and should not happen.

I think I found out the reason for this problem:

At first:
The actual wallets at first try to connect to six 'hardcoded' IPs to get a connection to the PIE network and download the blockchain.
These IPs have been hardcoded by me for all the actual wallets at piecoin.info or piecoin.net some time ago. Please do NOT use wallets from piecoin.tech!

Now the problem:
PieCoin wallet has a hardcoded limit of 125 connections which I found out today...
I am running two 'masternodes' (in the meaning of static, reliable nodes) and I saw that they both were at 125 connections.

That means that all of this six static servers are about to have had 125 connections the last two weeks. And it explains the problems which many people had.
They simply got no connection because all of the static servers were full!

And the (quick) solution:
I did a restart of my static PieCoin Linux server wallets with the option -maxconnections=200

Now there are 191 connections and it's going to be tight again soon.
I'll soon restart with 300. We have a really great network

The mid term solution:
The code has to be changed a bit and new wallets have to be made.
I will try to do that as a mid-term solution, wallet 1.0.0.4 will be the version.
And this time the version number of the wallet in the net will fit the name of the file/app.
(Sorry about 1.0.0.3 still complaining to be 1.0.0.2 - I know this leads to confusion but could not find a way these days back to alter the version number)

Long term: we will see what comes with the masternode update in the future. The connectivity for new users has to be always possible!

Ok, there is so much going on about PIE, I just can't believe it.
But I am concentrating on building new, stable wallets - before some masternode update will come.

Updated my wallet after moving my 80,000 Piecoins back to exchange .I down loaded and installed Piecoin wallet 1.0.0.2 on windows 10 PRO  have set windows firewall to allow piecoin wallet in and out .Moved 4444 piecoin back to wallet keeping the rest on exchange to see what happens with wallet before moving the rest of it back off exchange.Wallet shows it's stacking with  20 active connections with wallet unlocked for staking running 24/7 for the last 2 days now .How long should be expected for it to earn a reward from staking it's been showing 6 day's for the last two day's now

The current day, many people become impatient.

Dash need 3 years for reach over 100 dollar.

Currently the dev teams working hard an private test to test a new wallet with Masternode feature.

Everything is explained in the Discord (don't lazy read the previous chat), Masternode expected to launch on early September.

If you are impatient and still don't trust the dev team, you can searching another coin or using your funds for newbie ICO coin.

Another useless coin without anything. Masternodes everyday - "just a couple of day and all be ready" - what say mods during 1 month. And this guys kicking (or banning) from discord anyone who saying opposite. This can mean 2 things: very stealthy and accurate scam or devs take too difficult quests and cant make them. I just sold all my coins at 870 satoshi and dont want have deal with pie, even daytrading. Kicking from discord is really suspending  for me.
Every coin after selling becomes useless and worthless for the seller, it's a fact.
