You are probably right, RF, for after reading the FB on the eBay link, that one may not apply. Hopefully, though, by me listing these three, it may get the creative juices flowing with other members.

Was this a reply to the wrong thread or something?

A quick google search tells me that pinkie pie is one of the my little ponies, so it can be inferred that not every reference is PinkiePie from bitcointalk...

Rassah, when you've got some time, read up on the Kaycee Nicole troll.

This Wikipedia link provides a summary but it's not as fascinating as reading the Metafilter threads associated with it (you don't need to be a member to access them).  There were so many red flags associated with that particular sympathy troll that it should never have been able to be sustained for so long, but people ignored them because everyone knows somebody who has had some form of cancer.  No-one was willing to ask hard questions until after Kaycee's "death" and even then, those who questioned the story were attacked by the community because people can't conceive of others perpetrating such a big deception over such a long period.

I've seen similar hoaxes happen on other messageboards and they often follow a similar pattern - when they're revealed it turns out that no-one has actually met these people in real life, but because the people who've white-knighted them have often been high profile posters their often conflicting stories are accepted as true.  They rely on credibility through association and they're often quite skilled at getting it by not posting the drama bombs themselves but revealing the latest twist in their stories to established posters who then reveal the information to the community.

So wait, are we adding paedophilia to our list of bitcoin criminal's convictions?

nice

We already did with bruce, with the three-pronged attack/Bitcon in Pattaya debacle.

My hat is off to whichever goon endured this 'coversation.'  I'm cringing hard just thinking about it.

Mine too. I bow to and salute the good sir for his extremely high level of trolling awesomeness... if it's a goon.

And it's a bunch of trolls and the SA crew egging the OP on. You got trolled as hard as anyone here, fella.

That would make me EXTREMELY happy. But as I said, if have seen stuff similar to this in person.

Dude, read 'her' post history. C'mon now...

Ok, will do that right now.
If it WAS a troll, I salute the acting skills of the person trolling. The anger, frustration, and despair in their tone during our conversation seemed very genuine and realistic.

That was rather weird, yes.

So is this post.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.525846

The link to "another particularly disturbing and immoral pornographic photo of a man in a state of...physical distress" is not to goatse as many people might have assumed (and therefore not clicked on it).

So do you really think that the SA Freemasons made her decapitate her one of her ponies, too?  I'm sure that her "dad" could have found Lowtax's email address and made an angry complaint about goons harassing his daughter - and Lowtax would sure as shit have posted it publicly if that had happened.

That was rather weird, yes. I'm kinda wondering about her being found passed out in the kitchen, having taken a ton of booze and allergy pills the next morning, too.
Anyone want to guess wtf that was about?

Also, the more I read:

etc. etc. etc
The more I wonder about the troll thing...

That should be the prime indicator, but people like their blinders, I guess.

Yes, there are thousands, if not millions of decent authors in this world.

I am pretty sure JR Tolkien was not a hobbit, but he did write about them.
