Holy shit. If I had hundreds of thousands of BTC, I'd sell $33K of them and make a donation. The exposure on the Oatmeal would surely drive the price up and I'd regain that $33K many times over
I went to the Tesla museum when I was in Croatia. We should totally have one like that in the US. Ours could probably be even better though. Great idea!
I thought the only museum (with actual devices, photos, and original archive) was in Belgrade, Serbia. Tesla-museum.org.

This is an awesome idea! However, if pirate loses the bet, the bitcoin community can raise the money needed.
The plan is indeed to open up an address for the community to donate to in addition to the bet. Things like who will hold the coins and who will approach/communicate with theoatmeal are to be determined.
