I think there is a chance now for you to get unbanned, although it depends on what was the main Reason why you got banned initially but the forum had introduced a new rule to get second chance to banned members maybe you would qualify. Here is the guide thread for a second chance, you can follow it for a try
Thankyou so much for letting me know. I've just appeal on that thread.
Fingers crossed until mod's decision.

We'll see what the mods have to say, but plagiarism is still a serious offense in 2024.  In fact I'd say it should be even more serious since nowadays people are using AI to make posts and it's harder than ever to tell if something somebody's writing is genuine or not.

If this was a referendum or some such thing, I'd vote for not lifting the ban....but it's not, and enforcement of bans after multiple years might have gotten more lax since 2019.
I do agree with you.
But do you think I will ever do the same mistake again?
Won't I deserve a chance? (After 5 actual years)

The focus shouldn't be the number of year since the account have been banned, but the reason for the ban, and just asThe Sceptical Chymist said,  plagiarism is still a very serious offense here in the Forum in 2024 and if that is your offense, I will say that you should just move on, and but the forum goodbye because even this correct account will get banned for ban invasion.

There are pardonable offense and plagiarism is not part of those offenses that the moderators look away from, so if that is your case, I will suggest you stop wasting you time appealing, and as an old member, you should already know the rules of the forum.

what does this mean in the second chance rule?; 'A ban on wearing a signature will be added, equal to at least 2 years minus however long you were banned.'
This means you will not be able to wear a signature for 2 years minus × period of time you were banned, i.e, if you've been banned for 1 year (2 - 1 = 1), you will not be able to wear a signature for 1 years. If you've been banned for 6 months you'll not be able to wear a sig for 1 year and six months.

Surprisingly, I can see his last active as yesterday which means he was actually unbanned.
Wrong, you can still able to login with your banned account, but you can't post anymore. Check the account status in BPIP.

He got banned due to plagiarism.

But, the second chance doesn't ask you which type violations you committed, there are 3 requirements to fill, the @OP fill the first and third requirement, but he didn't qualify for one good post on the forum. If you check his post history, you will find that he's an altcoins miners and then he switch to be a shitposter and creates generic posts.

Surprisingly, I can see his last active as yesterday which means he was actually unbanned. Not until now did I know that an individual can be pardoned in the forum after admitting his mistakes and offering appeal. Sincerely,  such development is great and highly appreciated and speak highly of the heart of forgiveness of the administration of the forum. In addition, the person involved have served some kinds of punishment during which period he would have reflected on his  actions and have taken the expected corrections.

Even though it was years ago, you bought this account & managed to get about 1.5 years out of it before it got banned.

In a 5 month period, you transitioned from an "in the trenches" altcoin hunter to a generic, quota-driven shitposter. I'm gonna guess you own several accounts and recently remembered to attempt to get this one unbanned.

Have you tried using this second chances thread. I know the forum has become more lenient in handling plagerism cases these days than in years past. If you used the above thread and still not unbanned, know that your chances are slim. But if you've never used the thread, this could be your time to be forgiven. Let's see if your appeal will attract the attention of any moderator.

I've been banned for 5+ years now.
I won't even appeal this time but would ask can I please be given a chance now?

I accept the mistakes I did and by no chance will be repeated again after this harsh punishment.

Can any of our mods please consider this?
