I will only use rx580 if I have free electricity but my electricity bill is high which is why I choose Nvidia cards only, I'm also running on solar setup and you know it's all about mathematics, the gtx1660 super draws less power consumption than rx580
I would choose 1660 super
Easier to overclock, only memory clock and power limit, 15 minutes you can have your card running
6Gb is enough until early 2024
ETH delayed again the difficulty bomb until July 2022, so there's time to make some money
1660 consumes less power and generate less heat
Just be sure to not overpay the gpu

You will get same hashrate of both cards mining ETH, a 1660 super can give you 30-32MH while rx580 will do the same so if I were in your shoe ....

2. I would go for the less consuming graphic card which is the gtx1660s rx580 consumes more energy
3. If you have free electricity then go for any you can get

1660 super has only 6gb vram and rx580 has 8gb but they are both good for many algorithms out there, I suggest you should consider the cheapest between the two I don't know where you from so just buy the one that's more cheaper than the other
Between a gtx 1660 super and rx580 8gb which one is good for 2022 mining? I heard ETH is going away but I still have interest in mining coins for 2024 sake so I will hold every coins I'm going to make starting from now, which one is the best?
