That said, the original post is completely useless spam. Point of view needed? Roll Eyes Stop kidding me.

This is not a spam thread. Instead you are spamming for your signature here.
I wanted to know the point of view of how these threads are differentiate from spam mega threads and i got the answer. So i am locking this now.

Spam mega threads mostly exist in Altcoin sections. I do engage in discussion in gambling board like Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL)  but the discussion is always continuous as new things happen in the sports world every day.

Infact such mega threads prevent spam in the board where different people would end up opening new topics for the different matches and new that occurred during the day.

I think some of these mega threads should be locked a long time ago, and it is up to each of us to report it. There has been a lot of necroposting lately, and spammers generally choose very old mega threads.
You are right Lucius, reporting a thread that is candidate to turning into a spam mega thread to be locked would be the best way forward

Necroposting  can be easily stopped if there a rule that a thread gets automatically locked if there is no post in a month time.
This should be easy to implement in order to stop the Necroposting thing.

I don't think that's the topic of this thread. But since you asked, I prefer one thread per topic than 37 different threads about the same topic.

That said, the original post is completely useless spam. Point of view needed? Roll Eyes Stop kidding me.

Perhaps signatures could not be displayed in Mega threads. It would take away the incentive for shit posting in them.

An interesting idea, but the problem is how to determine when something has become spam mega-thread. Would it have been automatically after a certain number of posts/pages, or such a decision would be left to the moderators?

These threads you highlighted are discussions which are not static, they are on topics which are evolving and what was relevant 2 weeks ago isn't now. On the other hand a static thread, for example: 'what do you think about USDT?'. Is somewhat a static discussion as the factors do not change as much and there's no need for new engagements after a while.
You would assume that discussions on such topics would be exhausted after a week, but the spam keeps going, that's when it become a spam mega thread.

There isn't any rule regarding posts in mega threads.
The rule is clear. Don't spam. You should be always on-topic and do not repeat what has been already said. No difference there are 5 posts in the tread or there 1000+ posts.
A post made on Wall Observer thread can be the 1,000,000th post of the thread but be useful. Because there are always some changes in the forum. As long as the post is constructive there is no problem to post in this thread.
There are some threads that are completely different.

For example:
What Happens If China Bans Bitcoin Mining?
How 18-year old boy became Millionare from Bitcoin
Are ICOs dead?
How do you know if a gambling site is scam or not?
Do you think Voodoo works in Gambling Games?

There isn't any problem if you make a constructive post in these threads. But usually it's impossible to say something that hasn't be said before. Even if you make a useful post, a very few people will read that.

Wall Observer is one thread where you will see a lot of merits being given for posting unique ideas there. If you see a lot of merits given in a certain thread, then you should understand that it is not a spam thread.

Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL)       https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/premier-league-prediction-thread-epl-1148053
Cricket match prediction discussions      https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/cricket-match-prediction-discussions-1135451

I would like to know the point of view of posting in such threads.

The threads which you explicitly mentioned are valuable and interesting threads and I do not consider them spam threads. You have an interest in English premier league or you want know about the Bitcoin trading charts so you will get all these information from these threads but there are very few. Also check the other threads in these sections and unfortunately they are all spam.

LoyceV on the road. Or couch.
There's a difference between Mega threads and Spam Mega threads.
Nobody posts in the Wall Observer for signature earnings for example.

Those are hangout threads so obviously the discussion made on those threads are usually just casual conversation, meaning even though the conversation are similar it might not be an exact replica of previous contributions. Information discussion on hangout threads aren't static per se, the wall observer thread host discussion on bitcoin irrespective of the market conditions meaning different type of discussion based on the market can occur. Same can be said about the premier league thread, discussion there revolves around the clubs and football in general meaning at different instant, different conversation can be discussed on the thread.

The mage thread you should avoid contributing to are (spam mega threads) intended to pass on a static information since the same information must have been provided by previous responders, e.g A mage thread on "Is bitcoin Money" replying when the thread has 50+ replies is just Irrelevant since your thought won't be any different from what others have said Irrespective of you supporting or opposing the topic. To be precised, Mage threads that aren't hangout related should be avoided since you contributing there won't have any impact on the discussion.

No one will complain if posts in those Mega threads are not counted for both post count and activity. It can be done by the forum (that I doubt the forum will not change its algorithm) or by managers of campaigns.

In some threads, disable post counts for paid-campaigns in Mega threads will reduce total posts inside but in some special threads, like Wall Observer, there are still lots of posts made. People made posts in Wall Observer are truly WO's citizens and they love their 'WO house'. I know some of them made their posts in WO more than in other threads.

There is an interesting thing about spam mega threads is OPs usually abandon their threads.

I would like to know the point of view of posting in such threads.
Don't post when you don't have valuable ideas to contribute and discuss as the core purpose of the forum, presented there:
This forum exists to provide a platform for the free (but ordered) exchange of ideas. If you have an idea to express, then it is probably possible to do it here as long as you follow the rules.

As i hear by many of you that we should not post in the discussion mega threads as same thing is repeated in threads which have 50, 60+ replies
But there are few threads which have 100s of pages but are still valuable and people get new information from there. Same things is not being repeated in these thread.

Three examples:

Wall Observer thread with over 507284 replies  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/wall-observer-btcusd-bitcoin-price-movement-tracking-discussion-178336
Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL)       https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/premier-league-prediction-thread-epl-1148053
Cricket match prediction discussions      https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/cricket-match-prediction-discussions-1135451

I would like to know the point of view of posting in such threads.
