ICO only popular in 2016 and 2017 and after that the trend changed to IEO, and then the trend changed again to IDO/Initial Dex Offering. ICO will be become the very high risk investmentin 2017 because the tokens can be not be traded on the exchanges because the team is scam. But for IEO can be lower risk than ICO because will be direct listed and traded on the CEX. And for IDO that currently become trend in crypto market, because alot of IDO given very high return even above 10x in short times, this is because the hard cap of IDO very low compared ICO, so that the initial market cap of tokens will be lower and the circulating of tokens not to much on the market that will trigger the price rally. Fund raising by offering crypto is not dead, this high risk investment only changed the name.

While the markets are red now, I think people will turn to ICOs more. This is an easy but risky way to make money. I think the interest in ICOs will increase. I had an early sale yesterday, tokens ran out in 13 seconds.

Interesting article about the death of ICOs and the emergence of IEO... https://cryptotradernews.com/investing-trading/are-icos-really-dead/

What do you guys think? I don't think ICOs are fully dead. They just need to be regulated in more efficient ways. Most ICOs from 2017-2018 never delivered on their promises because they were being ran by a bunch of assholes who didn't deliver squad... We need more regulation. Only then will ICOs get better imo.
Very Long dead now mate, because this is the place where scammers live and use as bread and butter.
since 2018 there are only few that act rightfully when majority turns as scam.

I don't believe that ICOs are dead simply because there are a lot of poor ones, and there are new ways for IEOs to attract more investors right now; ICOs are just the beginning of blockchain technology. It takes time for ICOs to mature, so don't blame them. ICOs are emerging technologies in the world as instruments of investing linked to cryptocurrency, so don't blame them.

ICO will not anymore mature as its popularity is already over, I might be wrong but that's what I believe for now.
Can you name some of the successful ICO in the past 3 years that are listed in big exchange now and has good liquidity?

I doubt there are few, and that is my basis.

IEO is a new way to raise funds, together with a big exchanges like Binance, success is possible.

I don't think ICOs are fully dead.
I agree with you. There are still some new ICO projects, which indicates that ICO is still alive. However, the investors' interest in ICO projects is decreasing, we cannot deny it. Many investors seem still traumatized by the history of many scam ICO projects previously. ICO probably needs to rebranding or get some changes to make investors interested again. If ICO can guarantee the listing of the tokens after fundraising, I assume the investors can consider joining ICO again.

as a mass phenomenon ICOs are dead but there are some projects that still try to raise some money using traditional token sale. fake projects and scams did a lot of harm to ICO space and now we can see the results.

ICOs are not dead and they are not going to die either. ICO is an integral part of any crypto project and that is the phase where it attracts more risk taking investors who are willing to invest after doing their own researches on the project. Therefore, we will see ICOs in the future as well.

Believe in whatever you want to believe in, projects quality can't be defined by their crowdfunding methods, I can still consider a ICO project today if the utility is unexpectedly good and different, I don't care if it's ICO or IEO project, I stand up for quality projects only

The ICO is not completely dead because of the 100 projects that failed to carry out the ICO, there are still 5 projects that can still successfully attract investors. as you said "We need more regulation. Only then will ICO get better imo" but the question now is who can do that?

ico is getting really hard to achived their goals because there is so many scam project around the world who stole investor money and didnt keep their promised to listed on top exchange, that why people nowdays are preffered IEO than ICOs, also ICOs is bit risky than IEO , for me the ICOs that selling token outside exchange launchpad are dead and no one are intrested to participants on ICOs just because they are promised the top exchange for listing, that is my thinking about ICOs.

When I met cryptocurrencies in 2017, we would constantly follow ICOs and act accordingly. I think the ICO era is over now.
Why you guys are still calling ICOS dead when there have been still a lot of icos being launched as the successful icos like avax, wozx, base and many more?
The ico era is not yet over guys. You must have seen that from the some ico list sites and there is still a bunch of icos still running at this moment.
It looks like you didn't try to DYOR by checking directly in the market too.  Cheesy
ICO is still active until now, but the quantity is much reduced compared to the last 2 years. other than that only a few projects were able to survive the ICO. Most projects that are successful with ICO today are those that have projects that are quite unique and good, and have a team with strong networking

Actually, ICOs are not as exciting and new as they were in 2017. Bitcoin rose in price last months and I saw a few projects on the forum still running, I wonder if it is worth our interest and investment right now? Because the market is good raising capital is easier than in 2018.

Perhaps through regulation,ICOS would become better, but want to get back to the golden age of 2017,i am not optimistic. Due to icos have lost the trust of most people, and it is hard to rebuild.

May don't believe in ICO again but some projects are still making it through ICO. The infiltration of some scam projects lead to weakness of it.
IEO have started suffering the same thing because some wrong guys also goes to the exchange and made the money, then walk away.
The truth about investing in cryptocurrency is narrowed down to careful investigation before buy any token.

maybe the Era of ICO is now over, but over doesn't mean dead my friend
because i see a lot of project still do their crowdfunding use ICO methode buddy, maybe the hype is over but ICO still alive until now

As of now, many companies are conducting ICO, in ICO most of the old members are not investing and new members who are entering are showing more interest towards ICO. ICO's are not ended, but low value exchange are conducting ICO for funding raising but most of the ICO's are very risky.

ICO has been dead for a long time, there is no latest ICO innovation and lots of investor funds have been taken away and there is no renewal in the project, I still recommend IEO for a safe investment

Yeh i think so. The ico kind of format for investment is pretty much on the edge. The icos are very popular in 2017-2018 but it didn't long last. Fir reasons like highbrisk, many people got scammed by ico teams, most of the icos left the project in midway or leave it when they are not successful. So investors and crypto loves start to avoid it and the market was also crashing that time. So day by day thenico thing was started to gone. And after that a investment format called ieo was introduced by many big exchanges and that invest strategy is safer than icos. So people got interest on ieos. And ieos are very popular but icos are kind of dead.

Havent seen ICO projects, that successfully raise soft or hardcaps recently. Anyone can point me something?
I used to check ICO on https://icobench.com/, but now this page is not updated anymore. There was https://icodrops.com/ also, and I see it is updated frequently. But the "goal - not set" makes me feel sad. Back in the past projects were more active to get funding, now many are lazy to fill and check project presented information. Or even worse, plan to run a project and dont have an idea about financial strategy.

Back in the days, ICOBENCH used to be the best rating platform for ICOs, until things went south for ICOs. Also ICOBENCH ratings were mostly paid ratings, hence even after seeing top rated projects on the platform, one has to still do further research. Presently new DEFI projects started doing ICOs in the name of presales, which is still ICO in disguise. Some of them succeed in hitting hard cap, most of them are scam and use uniswap to list easily.
