First of all, Please dont think that I am starting this thread because I am begging for a promotion. The only reason is to support a system which is fair for every member of bitcointalk family.
I just can’t see this working. I’m a full member and was only awarded 4 merits to share. Also in last 2-3 month I got 6 merits only even after creating worth material (at least I am not posting spam).
I would like to recommend a system where members can do it as a like (+1)/dislike (-1) feature where you have unlimited input, and can down vote the spammers and moderators can take the final decision (Very much similar to Reddit)
Merit system is not actually serving the purpose. Have a look at threads below this thing can not be control you only few selected ppl can not put an eye on entire forum:

Is it a new way of earning?
Highrank is directly related to earning of the member. Due to scarcity of merit there is a chance of selling/buying merit (Isnt it a scam??)
