They set up the lemonade shop again, taking donations instead of fixed pricing.

If a corporation tried something like this, they would be effectively circumventing the law.

They set up the lemonade shop again, taking donations instead of fixed pricing.

Meanwhile, Johnny Blevins, the owner of the Splash Kingdom gave free passes to the kids and their other family members. (The girls were initially selling lemonade to fund their father's day trip to the  Splash Kingdom).

The girls decided to donate the money they collected from the lemonade stand, to a nearby school, which was damaged in a tornado.

I read in the fox news again that those little girls to reopen lemonade stand again after police shut it down, still staying strong, hopefully this time they will not forget to take permit and health inspection certificates, since, previously they do not had any clue about those permits and certificates.

all's well that ends well.  I'm sure with the viral nature of their story they will earn more than enough to cover their Father's Day plans.

For your kind information the man who is in that picture in front of the tankers, so far not identify by any one, what is his identity, which nationality he belongs and which place he lived in China, and such and such, it is possible that he has been made disappeared by the Chinese Government. Until his results been proved, it will not be worth to post this picture as a mark of resistance.

May be you should read more about that incident. This particular incident occurred on 5th June 1989, in the Chinese capital of Beijing. The Sunday Express identified the man as 19-year old student Wang Weilin. And according to Bruce Herschensohn, as per the intelligence reports from China, he was executed on 19th June 1989, by firing squad.

This probably started because of a neighbor complaining about traffic. The cops have a duty to enforce the law. What sucks here is that for some reason

Yes, it is absurd. But such incidents do happen, when you live under the police state. That said, most of my anger is directed towards the lowlife scum, who informed the police that "illegal" lemonade sales are going on in the neighborhood. Some say that it was their neighbor, but we don't know for sure, as the cops are refusing to reveal the identity of the informer.

What if any stranger came and mix something unwanted and unhygienic things add into that lemonade as disguise to help those little girls, which may sometimes cause food poison to the consumers and also those lemonade are not tested in Lab according to the rules and regulations.

Those girls don't seem to be low-IQ kids. They will refuse outside help from anyone, especially that from the strangers. And regarding food poisoning, do you know how many people in the US gets food poisoning every year, by eating food from the McDoland's and KFC? IMO, the lemonade made by these kids seems to be safer than Coke or Pepsi. At least it doesn't contain any heavy metals or harmful chemicals.

Don't know whether to laugh or cry. But I'm sure Texas or US is not the only place where this kind of situation happens, is sad that some people, in stead of using their brain and common sense are blindly following orders.

This is not the first time, that a children’s lemonade stand has been shut down.
You can find more cases of this government overreach. Angry
We need to stand up for this normal childhood activity that many parents have been participating in for ages. Smiley

What if you were free  to make choices where you spent your money, and be obsessive compulsive about things that "might happen" at practically any food retailer on the planet?

And meanwhile, in Ohio...

Quote
An Ohio sheriff's deputy is being praised by the community for going above and beyond the call of duty to help a little girl at a lemonade stand.

On Tuesday, Deputy Zach Ropos was on duty when he came across a girl named Gabrielle operating a lemonade stand. Gabrielle's family had been facing financial difficulties, and the girl had been saving up money from the stand in hopes of buying an iPad to use for schoolwork and games.

But instead of just paying for a lemonade, the deputy decided he wanted to help Gabrielle achieve her goal. Ropos was going to give Gabrielle an older iPad he had at home, but when he found out that it no longer worked, he decided to buy a brand new one for her instead.

Ropos' gift became even more valuable when he learned that Gabrielle had offered to give up the money she earned from her lemonade stand to buy gas for her mom's car.

I am sure he was quickly reprimanded and suspended without pay.

The law doesn't apply anyway since lemonade is not a time/temperature sensitive item.

Just another incident to prove how brave and courageous these police officers are in the United States.  Grin But still, In this case I believe that the police officers were merely following the orders which they received from their superiors. In my honest opinion, the state of Texas does not need $150 in license fee from these two little girls, to make the ends meet. Tax the adults as much as you want, but please leave the children alone.

I agree, if the state law is such then the officers really had no choice. They shouldn't be taxing children, because what I don't understand is how are tax laws applicable towards children who can barely cross the street on their own? How would they possibly know of these laws? All they wanted to do was make some money in order to make their father happy!

So what's next now? Banning children from playing in neighbourhood? Or arresting children for crying? It seems Police in Texas have stopped crime completely, that's why they are now enforcing laws on children for keeping themselves getting paid.

The laws in a couple places are so messed up. Their are laws which can get you arrested if you bath 2 babies together (California). There is a law where you can't cut your grass on specific days. Laws sound like religion to me now.

Police in Overton, Texas put the brakes on an illegal lemonade stand run by two little miscreants...sure is good to see my tax dollars at work and I'll sleep better tonight knowing the streets of Overton are safer now. What a crock...

Police in Texas shut down a lemonade stand run by two little girls. They said it was illegal.

Andria and Zoey Green told ABC affiliate KLTV they were trying to raise about $100 for a Father's Day present. They wanted to take him to Splash Kingdom.

They had been selling lemonade and kettle corn for an hour - and made about $25 - when officers showed up and told them they need a $150 permit to sell their lemonade.

Texas House Bill 970, or the Texas Baker's Bill, does not allow the sale of food that needs time or temperature control to prevent it from spoiling. Since lemonade needs to be refrigerated to prevent bacteria growth, police said they needed an inspection from the health department and a permit to sell it.

"It is a lemonade stand, but they also have a permit that they are required to get," Overton Police Chief Clyde Carter said.

"I think that's ridiculous. I think they're 7 and 8, and they're just trying to make money for their own cause," said Sandi Evans, the girls' mother.

Ridiculous or not, Overton police said it's the law and they'll keep enforcing it.

"We have to follow by the state health guidelines," said Carter. "They have to have a permit if they're going to do the lemonade stands."

The sisters plan to try again this weekend. Instead of selling their lemonade, they'll give it away for free and accept donations.

Seems like the law's got a point. But I would love the taste of cold refreshing lemonade on a hot texan afternoon.
