In conclusion, they're a useless waste of taxpayer dollars.

They willingly put their lives on the line every day, never knowing when some violent thug is going to attack them just 'cause he ran out of iced cream and was in a bad mood.
We're are a lucky society to have these heros around, protecting us.

If that was satire, you're doing it right
Police officers do put their life on the line every day. Without the police and law enforcement then there would be very little that would stop people from committing crimes against you and your family.

The issue with many police forces is that they are poorly trained (do not know enough of the law), and have bad policies in place

Hello, Dominos. Yes the usual please. Oh and by the way call the police for me I have a burglar at gunpoint.

It is. Not sure about the rest of your sentence. I don't click links on here...too many scammers trying to get people on sites to steal passwords...No, thank you! You aren't getting my password.

If there would be no police a neighbourhood would form their own security group and system. Nobody wants their things stolen, police or not.

There is no such oath to protect or serve

Their only oath is to uphold the constitution, which they don't really do (Driver's license checkpoints are an impediment to our Fourth Amendment Rights)

^ this. A police officer can sit and drink his coffee and eat a donut while you are raped and murdered right in front of him and he will have zero repercussion under criminal law. There is no obligation for them to protect you in any way.

Forensics recently leaked by the Feds show shots were, in fact, fired inside the police cruiser where Michael Brown first attempted to murder the officer.
Also, 6 African American eye witnesses have come forward and admit Michael Brown was in the midst of bull rushing the officer when the fatal shots were fired. As a longtime resident of Ferguson (and lifelong resident of St. Louis), I am not looking forward to the (almost certain) rioting and looting that will commence as soon as the Grand Jury, in Clayton, votes to not file charges against the officer.
Oh now he is an attempted murderer now too?
...
You are so busy defending the police that you don't realize THEY are the ones putting you in danger...

Not now...he's dead now.
....
The police put their own lives on the line to protect us. I believe they (as a whole) deserve respect for that.

Police have ZERO obligation to protect you.

They take an oath to protect us. We are fortunate to have them.

An oath to protect us? Well, maybe the ones who actually lock up murderers. Hint: They are a minority.

But most of them merely exist to enforce the will of the prison industrial complex.

How fortunate for us to have the boys in blue to shove a nightstick up your ass whenever they feel like it.

Then plant drugs on you if you have the audacity to complain.

Police have ZERO obligation to protect you. This has been proven in court. They DEMAND respect, they don't earn it. They are little more than revenue collection agents for local, state, and federal governments. It has become the norm for them to abuse their power and it gets worse every day. It is never going to stop until people like you pull your head out of your asses and stop being such apologists. If the police were doing such good work THEY WOULDN'T NEED DEFENDING FROM YOU.

Our police force is not a single entity but a group of powerful individuals. This power can be abused. You have to observe them case by case. The way the authorities deal with Ferguson currently may not be the best one.

I know kids get bold now days, but they had to know this would be a death sentence to try something like this. I don't buy that narrative.

It was a little over the top, yep, but considering how he acted up in the robbery before this happen, then I won't rule that out. M. Brown was not a kid anyway and no police officer do something like that stupid...

Besides, Stefan Molyneux got some courtroom info on the events leading to Brown death and if 7 black persons (on the condition of anonymity for fear or being lynched) backed up the police officer story:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMnMmxZgTlg

...then I would say - case closed. There is no way they can make all that up and it is consistent with the autopsy results.

PS. in most cases I believe that police officers should be shot for what they do. In this case, I say - killing this guy was justified. Not in these examples:

The anger over the police shooting in Ferguson is totally justified.

Everyday cops kill innocent people for the most retarded of reasons in America and no one is ever held responsible for anything.

Multiple eyewitnesses said Mike Brown had his hands up and he said "Don't shoot" right before they killed him. That is murder.

Also, another thing they haven't mentioned in the media. A big reason new riots have started up in Ferguson lately is because someone torched the Mike Brown memorial that was in the street.

Yep that's right, in the middle of the night someone poured gas on the mike brown memorial and torched it.

Like that's not gonna piss some people off.

Mike Browns co-robbery friend was clearly the most coached lying witness I have ever heard speak.
A little black girl looking out her window did CONFIRM that the big man that was killed and later identified as Mike Brown WAS fighting the cop THROUGH the cops window.  There is NO way that the cop PULLED that big ass 300 pound Mike Brown IN his window to start a fight.

Why has nobody asked "Where is the evidence of a bullet hole INSIDE the cops car, OR ~not~ in the cops car?"
If the cop car has a bullet hole inside, that proves the cop story and disproves Mike Brown's co-robber friend story.
-----

I think the police department fucked up by not explaining why forensics left him in the street for 4 hours, and fucked up by not revealing the bullet hole (or lack of) in the cop car.

Oh now he is an attempted murderer now too? The story about him grabbing a gun isn't enough, now he was a bloodthirsty murderer hopped up on the reefers? The narrative of the cop rolling up and grabbing this kid and trying to pull him into the window makes a lot more sense to me than him trying to grab the cops gun. I know kids get bold now days, but they had to know this would be a death sentence to try something like this. I don't buy that narrative. Perhaps he was resisting arrest, still no grounds for summary execution. You are so busy defending the police that you don't realize THEY are the ones putting you in danger by inciting much of the civilian population, much of them law abiding, with tremendous amounts of abuse.

So many statist sheep, you murder apologists are the reason why the police are allowed to have military gear to use as "civilian control"

If I bore what the police in the city do, I'd be arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit terrorism, then detained indefinitely thanks to Obama's indefinite detention act
